1st Hydro Grow

Pan,
I did notice a small amount of darkening of the roots. Could this be algae? I tried to take a picture but I couldn't get a good focused shot. I did add the reccomended amount of algae control and I'll keep a very close eye on things today and report as necessary.

Day 15

Ph 5.9
Room temp 69
Water temp 68
Rh 41%
nute ppm 555

Things just keep going right...Thanks to Pan4Gold49. Without seeing a good pic of the roots (I couldn't get a good shot of them) he figured out I had an algae issue. This is made even more amazing considering that aside from some very slight root discoloration, I couldn't see a thing on them. However, I took Pan's advice to get some algae control, and this AM the roots are clear and there is a coating of dead algae on the bottom of my res. The lesson hear is to listen to people that know more than you, or prepare to lose alot of grows. Thats twice in a week that Pan has saved my grow.

Anyhow, the plants are growing like, well...weeds. Very happy with the look of the plants. There is still some leaf curl but it's slowly subsiding and I have no doubt that they are going to be fine.

The last two pics in this post are of the Gigabud. I mad another DWC kit out of a 5 gallon bucket to put her in due to different light schedules. It seems to be growing very slowly. It is in the same water/ nute soulution as the White Dwarfs. It is well lit and ventilated so I'm not sure if anything is wrong or not. Maybe just a slow grower.

Anyhow, I went ahead an germed the 5 Thai Super Skunk seeds just in case the Gigabud goes sideways. Hope that doesn't happen, I have some serious reservations about growing ANY skunk strain in my house.

Y'all have a great weekend.

Just remember: Algae can't grow in the dark.

Day 16

Ph 5.9
Room temp 72
Water temp 70
RH 43%
nute ppm 550

Everything is going great. Plants all grew explosively overnight, with all plants adding a new set of leaves. Plants are actually starting to generate a low odor...smells damn good to me. Algea seems to be under control and ph has stayed much more balanced.

I have been giving some consideration to lst'ing my largest plant. It is taller than the rest by a good 2". This is, obviously, my first hydro grow so I don't want to get to cute with things, so let me know what y'all think.

Pics of my girls now...

Happy 420 to all!!

Wow them gals got thirsty yesterday. Had to add almost a whole gallon of water this am, and this is after adding 1/2 gallon yesterday. So we know they are taking up water and nutes.

The new growth is GREEN. you can tell a major difference in color on the pics, but it doesn't even come close to showing the difference. The new growth also seems to be "stacking" now. I guess they are done with stretching for awhile.

How 'bout some pics?
