so after looking online all day to buy a chiller I found this little joy on my way home at the end of a neighbors drive way for free =) So I modded it up and next pic is a diagram of how its works

diagram of the h2o cooler to chiller. the pimp in the cooler is on non stop and is a 225gph the bucket pumps are on 15min twice an hr. so alchol is cooled to about mid 50s which cools the nute solution in the tubing coils

Thought I would stop in and update my journal. ;) So #1 was born 7/17 and started flower 9-1, she is looking great. She got a weird leaf, I snaped a pic of below. Were on 2nd wk of bloom @12/12, no dark period ?? Some say u should go dark for 2 days with plain water ? Is this true ?? I am on the general hydroponics flora series. I was on simple setup with the floralicous plus but since last bucket was my transition bucket, I have switched over to the expert program. Still need to get my flora nectar pinapple rush but got the floracious bloom in there. she is drinking about a gal a day and ph keep going up every day in the am i set it to 5.5 in the am and by 7pm i got to bring it back down again from 6ish =( Ive read enough threads here and they set it by the wk and never have to touch it. But every day for me, must be BC im using 5gal buckets with no resv yet. Bucket temps are set to 71, ambient temp is 78 lights off 87-90 lights on. Any input would help, thanks for looking:tokin:

oh and thought i would throw a pic of my outdoor swag buddie she had root problems too and i figured i would plant her in the soil and let the underground buggie feast on her roots and what do ya know she came back and flowered =) gotta love mother nature, so she been getting the left over nutes from my bucket changes along with some extra liquid cool bloom and some molasses

Heard great things about this strain, and I love that chiller! You ever get the freezing water taken care of?

well this is my first indoor hydro grow, and first time with this strain =) but so far i like it got 3 out of 4 bean to grow and 1 extra, so i will be able to select the best pheno out of the 3 =) i hope it as good as the pkg makes it out to be. Your pineapple turned out great so i can only hope for the same with mine =) when i was in scotland buying the beans i got la confidental and a yumbolt and only 2 of 20 beans sprouted =( =( the yumbolt had super tiny seeds i swear were not right wish i would have taken pic the 2 that split molded in 2 day so total waste of 200ish ( ps i got them for drift head shop right near the royal mile so beware) so i am just glad the barneys worked =) I risked my future smuggling bogas bean back into the states for nada oh well live and learn

yup chiller is working great. instead of using the bucket pumps to pump the water through the chiller, i added a 225gph pump to the external cooler and circulate the cooler water( no more dry ice /ice or alchol) through the chiller 24/7, so it never sits in the line that goes over the chillers coil. so the cooler water cools to 50ish deg. The bucket pumps circulates the bucket nute water through tubing that runs into the cooler and back to the bucket so the bucket is closed system and never get cooler then 65deg.

well I go 24/0 Veg and of course 12/12 flower, veg gets grow nutes, calmag, and some liquid karma :) What were you planning on doing?

i am on the simple general hydroponics program so grow micro and bloom floracious plus and flora blend. but this wk is transition wk so i wanted to add flora nectal and liquid cool bloom and floracious bloom. but my nectar wont be here till wed. so guess i am doing a weak trans bucket. Was at 24/0 till 9-1 then went 16/8 for a wk and 12/12 the last 10 days or so. but i am going camping this wkend and dont like the hps being on when i am not there so think i am gonna shut down the hps and just go with the day lighting.

Well guess i should update the lighting in my closet. I now am running a 100 mh, 150 hps, 4x4' t8 32w and 3000k, 4 sprial cfl 32w 6500k, a way 65w 2700K the 4' t8 are the back drop and the mh and sprial are over head the 3way huge sprial is under lighting . so almost 600watts for a 6x4x8 closet :smokin:

well i have lowered #2 off the stand and added another 120 watts so i think i am around 700 watts =) So i go through it again I got the 150 Hps over #1 and i got a 100 MH over #2 Got a 4X 4't8s 32 watt 3000k as the backsplash, got 1 65W 3way cfl 3000k for underlighting on #1 got 8X 32watt 6500k cfls (6 over #2) 2 over #1 I am planning to get the reflectors for the cfls but how much can it help ?? Also thinking about those 125,200,250 watt short tube cfls the 250 looks just like the 250hps from hydro farm. and they are priced right too

SO i got the daylight starting @9pm to 6am and the hps coming on at 4 to 9 I figure its like the sunrise and day light and then 4 am the sun light is the strongest with all lights on then 2 hrs later the day light cuts out then the hps stays on till 9 to finish the 12 hr cycle

Looking good it's lonely in the Grow Journal world, that Acapolo Gold is some kick ass Cannabis. I have some seeds left but they are from Australia tho.
I get lots of strains from there for some reason they want me to grow it so they can have the pics good trad off I guess anyway's you keep up the good work. I don't say much, I would like to stop in from time 2 time and look around and kick the tires and see how you do... :goodluck:

People stop in and look at threads but don't say s^*#. No comments at all, whether its good, bad, or ugly. Everybody likes to look, but if you mess something up, or make a mistake, trust me, they will talk probably more than you want! LMAO

update Added #1 first bloom bucket with some aubculture b and m and wow these bucket stink now :) Also changed to 10" air curtins as the 1" stones were getting cloged also am gonna try some of the fine bubble stones( vs course bubble) to see how the plants like it ? any input welcome ??

WE have buds :) only took 28days :( what did i do wrong ? I think next grow i plan to do a 30hr dark period. Think i did my daylight/ hps lighting thing wrong a few steps back. Should have only used the hps and not the day light, oh well. I ve reversed things in the closet and got the hps and 3k cfl s coming on @ 12 to 9, and the day lighting coming on 9 to 2.( i know the way it looks but the 12-2 over lap :) so it only on 12/and off 12) Cant wait to get another hps for #2 her buds are a tad behind but she did start later too and got 2 more transition buckets where #1 has had bloom nutes for the last 1+ a top off too. well i post pic in a couple days cant really get my camera to focus well on them
