DNA Genetics, Sorbet Stash, 1000W In Coco, The Mr Canuck Way

She starting showing preflowers and got chopped to the 3rd node. Now I have to train her to grow low and bushy.

The significant haircut gave me enough growth tips to take 5 good clones. Hoping that at least 4 of them root.

Project - Attack of the Clones is a go! :lot-o-toke:

It's been 6 days since I cut the clones. Have been spraying the lid of the propagator daily, and the clones every other day. A few have started to bounce back after wilting for several days. Looks like 4 just might root for me. Fingers crossed. I just cracked the vents today and gave them their first watering since being cut.

The mother plant is also doing well. I'll be taking more clones for a friend tomorrow.

The dome is completely off, and I'm still misting the clones started in coco every couple of days. 2 of the 6 look to be toast, where the other 4 just might make it. A 66% success rate just isn't isn't going to cut it... enter Oxy Clone! I've read that they speed rooting time significantly and have excellent success rates, we're going to find out.

I took some more cuttings from the mother plant and threw them in the Oxy Clone... no dome... no rooting hormone.. just plain old H2O. We'll see what kind of success I have using it. I tried cutting some really small ones and some much bigger ones to add to the experiment.

The mother plant has been cut down significantly, and it's now the perfect shape to be moved over to the little tent. Just need 4 healthy clones to get this show on the road

It's been 10 days since cutting the initial 6 clones, and I ended up tossing 2 in the garbage. They were wilted the entire time, and didn't have any roots showing when I pulled them. Of note, they were the smallest 2 clones of the batch. The biggest 2 are standing tall now and look great, where the medium pair have a little wilt but appear to be alive and well. Bigger seems to be better for cloning in coco.

The clones in the aero cloner are looking fairly happy too. However, the little guys wilted and shrivelled right away, and the biggest and woodiest cutting is pretty wilted too. I threw a couple little guys out, as the stems weren't long enough to reach into the water. I also cut away about 50 % of the largest fan leaves on the big wilted plant. Going to have to make sure that all cuttings put in the oxy clone are at least 6 inches long going forward. Preliminary results have the medium sized soft stemmed clones in the lead.

The mother plant has been topped, I'll have 8 mains to train low and bushy. It still looks really healthy and bounced back from being massacred pretty quickly.

I'm thinking that I'll have 4 clones to move in to the big tent within a week. Can't wait!

3 of the clones in coco have rooted, and a fourth may or may not make it. The larger cuts rooted best.

The aerocloner clones look really healthy. I'm going to take a peek under the lid on day 7 (Sunday). Here's hoping for roots!

The 3 clones in coco are at day 17, sadly the 4th didn't make it. One of the 3 is looking a little rough too. Pretty shitty luck so far. Day 9 for the cuts in the aerocloner... they are still looking pretty good, but haven't started making roots yet. This strain might just be a tricky one to clone, I don't know. I was hoping to be growing 4 of them out by now.

The mother plant is healthy as can be, despite the beating it took.

I'm going to use some rooting hormones in the aerocloner from now on, thinking it may speed things up.

Another one of the clones in coco bit the dust. I'm down to 2 and one of them is looking a little rough. I moved them into the big tent with the mother plant. Hopefully they pull through. I'm down to 2 of 6 and one of them is looking haggard. No more cloning in coco for this guy.

The 11 day old cuts in the cloning machine appear to be starting to root. I see some little white nubs developing. Hooray! I'm going to leave them alone for a week and hope to have decent root formation by then.

I whacked the mother plant down again, and got some new cuts for the cloning machine. I dipped these ones in rooting hormone. I also threw one really big clone in as an experiment. It's looking pretty wilted, but the show must go on. For science!

I'm going to leave these alone for a week too, and see if the rooting hormone makes a difference in rooting time. It took 11 days to see little white nubs on the untreated ones. I've also added a little hydrogen peroxide to the res to prevent root rot.

Next update in 1 week. Hoping it's a good one

Not quite a week, but we have good enough roots to transplant over to coco! I delicately moved 5 cuts from the cloner over to the big tent this morning.

The front 2 in the picture were placed directly in coco and it's been 23 days since being cut... they haven't done much of anything yet. The back 5 are at day 16 since being cut and were transplanted from the OxyClone to coco this morning. I've picked up some clonex solution and gave them a light dose this morning.

There are still 8 cuts in the cloner that were cut 5 days ago. No signs of rooting yet. I'll be taking more cuts to give away today. The momma has served her purpose, and will be discarded afterwards. I'll keep one of the rooted clones as a mother plant going forward.

The OxyCloner really simplified things for me and it's nice being able to visually inspect if a cutting has thrown out roots before moving them in to coco. Highly recommend!

Good evening all. I spent the day making bubblehash with a new toy - a used bubble machine from the local hydro shop. I wheeled and dealed until the owner agreed to $60. Not bad for something that costs about $140 on Amazon. I cleaned it up with a bit of soap and water, then ran the trim from my previous grow. I used a 220 micron zip up work bag in the washing machine, and then 220, 120, and 20 micron bags in the bucket to separate the hash from the trim.

The washing machine (aka Bubblemachine) made things easy, and I did two 12 minute runs with each strain (Sour Diesel and Skywalker OG).I had 2 large ziplock freezer bags of trim and small buds from each.

The sour diesel returned at least 2x more than the Skywalker OG. The Skywalker was started outdoors, and wasn't very frosty at all. I have everything separated into various grades of hash and will figure out the final weight once everything is dried and pressed.
Not sure what I've yielded, but i'd guess around 15 grams combined. Not bad for a few bags of trim stashed away in the deep-freeze. I wish I could purify the hash further with a rosin press... maybe one day when they don't cost an arm and a leg
Happy holidays folks :hookah:

In other news, the clones that I cut a week ago and dipped in rooting hormone are WAY ahead of schedule in comparison to the cuts that never got dipped in hormone.

One of them has a bunch of roots already, the others are already developing the little white bumps everywhere. It took 12 days to see white bumps without rooting hormones. I'll be using it from now on.

The rooted cuts that I moved over to the tent are looking good. I also moved the one pictured with all of the root development in today too. The best 4 cuts will be vegged until they are about a foot tall. I'll scrog them and use the stuff under the net to do another round of clones. I'd like to try the same strain a couple of times in a row and hopefully improve my growing skills along the way. Thanks for reading

Every cutting placed in the oxycloner rooted for me. I'm glad... I was losing hope as the cuttings placed directly in coco slowly died one by one. I tossed the remaining 2 planted directly in coco into the garbage. One of them had decent roots, no roots to be found on the other. I shit the cloner down as I have a decent amount of rooted clones to choose from now.

I ran a 1:10 bleach solution for an hour, followed by some diluted hydrogen peroxide for 12 hours to try and keep the oxyclone in tiptop shape for the next time I'll need it.

The best 4 clones will be transplanted into my autopot system within a week, and it's finally go time. :)

I picked the best 4 clones and transplanted them into my autopots today. I mixed up my coco using dry amendments the way Mr. Canuck does on his youtube vids. Good timing, as the roots were just beginning to circle in their starter pots.

I've changed my bulb over to 1000w mh and have it 2 feet away. The autopot instructions state that I need to hand water for a couple of weeks, and then connect the trays and reservoir. Hoping that they veg to about the height I want in those 2 weeks and I'm ready to flower by then.

I'm going to be topdressing my nutes throughout flower, and it should be interesting considering that the autopots water from the bottom up. Might need to hand water a couple of times after each topdressing. We will see.

I Set up the autopots... had a mishap and flooded 5 gallons of water into the grow tent, but got things sorted out. Everything is running smoothly now. They have been hooked up for a couple of days and the clones look happy and healthy.

The plants are about the right size and I'll switch over to flowering soon.

The biggest girls are 15 inches tall... I'd like them to finish at no taller than 2ft. I swapped out the MH for a HPS and switched over to flower today. Not going to be scrogging or anything, just want to see how the clones do on their own. I might scrog or grow them bigger with the next round of clones. We'll see how these turn out

6 days into flower and the girls are pushing 30 inches tall. I still have another 6-8 inches of headroom in the tent, hoping that the stretch slows down soon.

The autopots are working great! The plants seem happy and healthy. They are drinking about 2 gallons per day between the 4 of them. I noticed the res was starting to smell a little funky, so I added a little h202 and it sorted things out. Also figured out that I won't be able to topdress my organic nutes anymore, now that I went with the autopots. I'm using AN's Ph perfect micro, grow and bloom at half strength for the duration of flowering. Will go to straight RO water for the last week of flower.

Looking forward to seeing these girls bloom.

Cheers!

I've underestimated the stretch again. It's been a week from flipping and they have doubled in height. This strain is supposed to be indica dominant, but it looks like it could potentially triple in height during the stretch. I'm going to flower the next batch of clones sooner.

I supercropped and put a scrog net in to train the lower growth that will start shooting skyward. I still have 18 inches between the aircooled 1000w hps and the top of the canopy. I might have to get pretty creative to keep a safe distance going forward. We'll see how much more they stretch these next couple of weeks.
