Farside05's Low Dough Auto Grow - White Cheese & Cream Caramel

OK, so I have 2 PH pens, one auto calibrates, other is adjusted by a screw. My auto calculating one went screwy a while back (think I accidentally hit the calibrate button when I was testing some nutes), so instead of just buying some PH calibration packets, I just bought the second pen (which came with packets). I've been using pen #2 for 2 grows now, but the end of this second grow, things are not looking as good as they should. I decided I'd break out the packets today and calibrate pen #1. Just to check pen #2, I dunked it in the solution. The damn thing was off by .5! Perhaps that's why my White Cheese that was so beautiful before has now gotten quite yellow, and no matter how much Nitrogen I was pushing at her, she wasn't improving much. Anyway, they are both recalibrated now and yielding the same readings. Guess I'll test my feed twice from here on out (one with each meter) just to be sure.

On a brighter note, all my seeds for my next grow germinated. Two OG Kush and two Sour Diesel (photo plants). They are residing in Solo cups between their bigger sisters until harvest time. I'm calling today Day 1 for them.

I think these Cream Caramels may surprise me. They are short little shits but each of their stubby branches are nice fat colas. Their buds are rock hard.

at least you know why the issues are showing.. Well done on the sprouts.. My last order duded, 0% germ, I just put another order...

Shame to hear about your seeds. Saw you have a namesake seed coming in your next batch. Hopefully you'll have better results. This time I germed in seedling plugs like I did on my first grow. Again 100% success using that method BUT two of these crazy things didn't know which way was up. The tap root was sticking straight up out of the dirt. I carefully uncovered the rest of them and spun them around. Pretty sure they'll be OK.

Day 73 - Harvest day

All the plants got the axe yesterday. Didn't bother to take any pics. No Plant of the Month contenders in this batch. Not the greatest grow. I chalk it up to 2 things. 1) My PH pen was off significantly and I think that caused some nute lockout. 2) I used KLN (liquid root hormone) in the first two weeks of growing. Upon reading further on that product, I hear that it stops vegetative growth and forces your plant to focus on building roots. Well that may be all well and good on photo plants, which you can veg as long as you keep your lights 18/6, but on the autos I think it keeps your plants from growing as big as they should before flowering kicks in, costing you a lot on the yield. I'll try not using it next time I grow some more autos, which will be a while since I'm on Day 9 on my next grow, which is photo plants.

It's smoke mate, congratulations...

It should at least replenish the 2.25 oz the wife gave away the other day to my buddy that had encouraged me to start growing a couple years ago. His jaw about hit the floor with the amount of "sample" bud she dished out. :jawdropper: It's just her smoking it, other than me maybe having a joint once a month, so there is plenty to be generous with.

Jarred the harvest today. Cream Caramel yielded 72 grams (2.54 oz), White Cheese 69.2 (2.44 oz), and I have another 22.6 (.8 oz) combined, of bottom fluffier buds to gift to a friend that likes to make butter. Nothing to write home about but another 2 strains to try. I love the smell of the White Cheese. Smells mellow and sweet to me. The wife doesn't care for the smell of it, although she's been opposed of it from the start just based on the name. The Cream Caramel has a fairly mellow, but more herbal scent. We'll see how each changes as they cure. The closet is starting to look like dispensary. Have 6 strains on tap: Cream Caramel, White Cheese, Northern Lights, Trainwreck, Critical+, and a little bit of Ice Cool (the wife's current favorite).

Well done Farside... Too many jokes about wife and cheese, wish I knew you better  that's an awesome line up of flowers to smoke, nearly got them all, maybe some kush and a diesel and you'll be sorted, lol... :high-five: awesome

Feel free to joke away with me Grizz. I have a twisted sense of humor.

PS - She later said the White Cheese smells like Parmesan Cheese. I gave it another whiff and I can see that, but then again I love Parmesan Cheese.
