First Timer, Any Suggestions?

Thanks everyone for you nice comments and stopping in.

If anyone has time to answer this question it would be much appreciated.

What is a good way or the proper way to manicure a 2 foot long cola. The reason I ask is I harvested my Bubble Gum today and this thing was huge? Am I supposed to cut it up into smaller more manageable buds? First time and not sure what to do with this thing and my Papaya has two that are even bigger and I don't want to ruin anything. Your help would be much appreciated..

Yeah manicure it, dry it and put it into a really big sealable jar for a long time, or vacuum seal it in a ziplock bag, put it in a paper bag, then a shoe box and the insides of those buds would be very potent after a good amount of time!
From what I've read mary jane is like wine. The longer it cures the better it smells and tastes.

The water content on yours is probably less then what we get up here at harvest time. Sometimes if they are really wet at harvest I will take a hair dryer to it just to make sure there is no surface moisture.

But manicure it first.

On Amazon you can get these great caps for wide mouth mason jars. You put the normal lid and screw ring on loosely and then put this cap over the top and hit it with a shop vac or vacuum pump. Take the cap off and tighten the ring and it will keep vacuum packed for years.

The big colas are visually nice but it will cure and store better if you get it off the stems.

Thanks for stopping in and the comments, I appreciate all the good advice. Thanks again.

Please don't chop it into pieces, I would love to see it manicured in its entirety. I would get one of them there solar powered weed wackers. LOL, man 2' thats a bat!

Thanks siscokid. I think I am going to get the buds off the stem. I know it looks nice but I think borntorun is correct that it will dry and cure much better it I get it off the stem. Thanks again for stopping in and you comments. I will try to get a picture before I butcher it.

Thank you for your comments and advise.

I'd keep it whole - just be sure to have plenty of ventilation for drying, and get all the leaf off that you can so the buds have airflow and don't mold.

Thanks for the advise and the comments. I do think I will have to cut the buds off the stem it just seems to make sense that it will dry more uniform if the buds get a little more air. Thanks again, you advise and comment are much appreciated.

Borntorun, thanks so much for the advise I think I will cut the buds off the stem. It just seem to make sense to me. This cola is so thick I think it would take a year to dry and thats too much time for something bad to happen to it. The cola is pretty wet. The plant did not get any direct water onto the buds or leaves so I am pretty sure you are correct about it not being as wet as plant from up north. But to be safe I think it would be a good Idea to cut the buds away from the stem and the hair dryer sounds like a good idea. I will check them today to see if it needs it. Thanks again for stopping and and you comments and advise as always are much appreciated.

As per some requests here is some bud from the Bubble Gum, Still a little wet when I put it in jars. Opening them up 3 times a day. I hope they will be OK. I figure about a month in the jars should be about the correct time. And wow do these thing smell, I thought the Full Moon smelled, The Bubble Gum just takes over the whole house. Not sure what I am going to do about that but I am going to have to find some solution... The lady of the house cant stand the smell. Anyway take a look, pictures are not as good as I would have liked, I only had few minuets to take them, Sorry.
