Greenie's Aero Bubblegum First Grow 2011

OK, so here are some close up of the girls. NO yellow light Twelve12 :)
Here's the Tangerine Dream girl. She is lighter in color than the Bubblegum triplets. Very healthy plant. Isn't she cute? LOL

They are doing so good! thanks to all for the help/ suggestions/ experiences. I do appreciate all of it!

Does anyone know how long a "tangerine dream" should flower for? The Bubblegum girls are 8-9 weeks.... Thanks!

Yes you do...lookin really good, how long have they been in 12/12 now?
I know I could go back and check but I'm lazy...ahaaaa or stoned can't remember which.

Looing great, Greenie! :thumb:

According to the breeder, flower time on the TD is 70 days. You may want to give it an extra week, since they're often agressive in their estimates.

Here's some info from Barney's Farm:

Tangerine Dream

Cannabis Cup Winner 2010.

The exceptional crossing of G13 with Neville’s A5 Haze – with the resulting plant again crossed with G13 – Tangerine Dream is sativa-dominant strain offering tangy, intense sweet citrus aromas and flavors as well as effects that are at once cerebral and relaxing. The best of both worlds for smokers and growers. Considering its attributes, Tangerine Dream’s 70-day flowering time is remarkably short, and the one-meter high plants, with their strong and numerous side branches, yield an impressive minimum of 500 grams per square meter. Colas grow large and tight, especially for a sativa-dominant strain, and are flecked with red and orange hairs and frosted with a shimmering layer of fine THC crystals. A taste sensation offering clean and long lasting effects.

Tangerine Dream evokes a citrus fruit fantasy and, somehow, an even more enchanting reality. How one strain can offer some many seemingly contrasting attributes is a shining example of how Barney’s Farm is a leading force in advancing genetics and husbandry.

This innovative, Sativa-dominant strain starts with the legendary G13 plant, known for it’s intense flavors and strong effects, which is crossed with the unusually refined and exotic Neville’s A-5 Haze. The resulting plant is again crossed with G13.

The aesthetic total, however, far exceeds the sum of its genetic parts, as Tangerine Dream offers the visceral sensations of tearing into fresh citrus: a spray of essential oils from the peel with its complex and pleasant bitterness; deep, pungent aromas fill the air, and then, the concentrated, tangy sweet flavor of fruit and juice on the tongue. An experience both refreshing and intense.

The large, tight colas – unusually firm and substantial for a sativa-dominant strain – are flecked with orange and red hairs, and frosted with a shimmering layer of THC crystals. A focused, fruit scent, accented with a whisper of earthy, herbal notes, is obvious even before Tangerine Dream is lit. The smoke offers an even more concentrated citrus fragrance, and zippy sweet flavors that linger on the tongue. These sensations are an excellent introduction to the high that follows: the happy, cerebral energy of sativa layering over just the right amount of indica relaxation.

Growers, too, benefit from a joyful paradox: the flowering time of 70 days is very brief for a sativa-dominant plant, and the yields, of at least 500 grams per square meter, are exceptionally high. Plants grow to a height of about one meter, with strong and substantial side braches able to support their big, dense flowers. With minimum THC levels of 25% and CBD at 1.8%, Tangerine Dream truly lives up to its name, and Barney’s Farm has made it real.

Greenie, by now you know I'm a big supporter, and originally decided not to say anything about your girls showing sex after the 36 hours of dark, but I want to comment just to make sure you don't time your harvest wrong.

First, your girls look great and you're doing a great job. :bravo:

But, it really appears they are just in their first week of flower. If you veg any plant long enough, it will show its sex. This is normal, and you vegged those girls for quite a while. However, it still takes 1-2 weeks for flower to be triggered and the plants to really start throwing out pistils. By the time they're in their 2nd week of bloom, you'll see a bunch of small, underdeveloped buds, but it will be a lot more than just the pistils.

So, I think your plants were either showing sex, or about to show sex, before the 36 hours of dark. But, I would start counting your "day #1 of bloom" at about a week later, or so, and not necessarily at the end of the dark period.

I hope I didn't bum you out! :)

And... hey, nothing is going to bum me out, unless the girls don't survive to maturity. That's NOT going to happen. They are healthy! I will not veg as long the next go round. But I am not at all concerned with that. I will keep a "close" eye on the girls, I am in no hurry to end their lives. I'll but out the appropriate tools and look at them under a scope. But I have plenty of time to admire them. I really love that they are bushes, that have taken over the space. It's only 4 plants, but sure looks like it is much more! :)

so, again, I'm not bummed, and I'm in no hurry. I'm enjoying this.

Just a note. the girls went into the dark on 10/20, 36 hours later on 10/22, the lights came back on for the 12/12 period.
I only took a few photos of the top buds, the whole plant (s) are budding nicely. and getting more "chunky" every day. I might try to take photos of the same buds on the plants just for my own curiosity.
:peace:

I grew a plant, in soil, under a hps light, yearssssssss ago. It only grew about 2 feet tall, and produced... under an oz. Because I had a child, and the laws were different, I never tried it again. I did help grow a BUSH at my sister's house, high in the hills in Los Angeles. by "help, I mean I watered it. It grew to about 8 feet high and much wider than I could HUG it! LMAO. But, it was her plant, and I only visited it regularly.

I'm happy with the growth, and the beauty of my girls. I have read my Jorge Cervantes book, cover to cover, and marked pages, re read pages, and still I come back to 420 Magazine for help, knowledge, and to look at the bud porn! hahaha
I appreciate everyone here, I really do. Without the water cooler, I know that the plants would not have looked as beautiful as they do. I pay close attention to the nutrients, room temperature, humidity in the room, and the ph of the water. I do NOT f*ck with any of it too much, because I do not have to. FYI: I followed the directions on the bottles!
I realize that I do not have to veg as long as I did. But truly, I wasn't ready to flower.
I have some clones that I will let go maybe 7 weeks, then will toss them into a flower cycle too.
Live and Learn, and what I've learned worked out great for me. I do not want anyone to take what I say as Mary Jane grow GOSPEL... I just use this for what it is, a JOURNAL. My own personal journal. I am more surprised than anyone else that my girls are so awesome! I wrote this journal because I wanted the help and suggestions from those of you that have experience with growing. I truly thought I would need much more help... But hey, I read, I read some more, and I still read, every day.

I'm happy, very! How can I not be? My Girlies are so purdy! :thumb:
