So this gelato plant i believed to be about done...it hadnt grown any bigger...buds stopped growing...i was waiting for those pistols to turn orange and crystals to turn milky...for about 2 weeks....crystals are now milky but for some reason new growth has started after about a 2 week stand still. White pistols with almost no tricomes on it have started. Has anyone had this problem?? Do i harvest even tho 90% of the plant looks done except this new growth

you are still not done... the pistils turning colors is not the thing you are really wanting to watch to indicate ripeness, because they will usually turn early... and it depends on the strain whether they even turn at all... it is the trichomes that you are concerned with. They will go from the milky that they are now to an amber color. She is ready when you have at least 2-5% amber trichomes, and some people like even more... like 10-25%, but don't go too much further than that because they start to turn black next, and degrade under the light. I would guess that you are about a week away... maybe 10 days

Much Appreciated the feedback
Peace and love

from my understanding you wont check the new buds trichomes but look at the upper bud parts that have been around and judge it by those trichomes.

yep, i myself usually check the upper and middle buds and completely ignore the bottoms as those are the tiniest and i dont mind if they are hella amber haha. For all my grows so far its generally been basically the same as middle/upper somehow lol.

Totally agree about the lower ( popcorn ) buds. I always put them in the hash pile or gift them to a friend for edibles. I also always pull the whole plant. I've tried pulling in sections. For me it doesn't make much of a difference

Also pull the whole plant as i dont see the point in letting the lower small stuff take up more time when i could be vegging the next batch.
