Loads of great information! Especially since we only have the space for a couple plants, I was thinking of getting a 250 or a 400w bulb to put over the plants, then get a couple cfls to hang around them.

As for our grow tent zigzag, (and its funny you mention being in a basement...) we arent concerned as far as heat goes, especially when it starts getting cold soon. Our idea so far is to get a "tuff shed" if you will. We found one at our local hardware store. Its essentially a cabinet thats apx 3.5 feet wide and about... 6 feet tall. It has shelves that could easily be moved or taken out to our needs, would easily be coated in mylar, and if my calculations are correct, we would be able to hang our 250/400 watt bigger lamp in there, fit three good sized plants in there, and even mount a couple little fans for heat/ventilation.
Ill definitely check online, we have a hydro store here in town, and it might almost be worth just going in there and having the light fixture then and there. Ive been ordering a lot of... interesting... things to my house lately so... they have ballasts and light setups ready to plug and play essentially.

Duel arc sounds tasty, and after checking out that link zigzag, I think Im sold! less then 200 bucks, free shipping, for a complete 400w setup! thanks for the link!! great deals! time for my morning shmoke!

Nice leb and shmoke, its always good to have a partner! I would go with the 400 watt also. The only thing I would worry about is the heat in there. 400 watts can get pretty hot, u might want to consider a 4" exhaust fan with an air cooled reflector.

We found these little 6'' walmart desk fans for 5 bucks, they can be mounted to nearly any surface, do you think a couple of those would work?

We hooked one up to a 6'' sized hole and had it blowing in one side of a cardboard box, cut a similar sized hole on the other side of the box, and put a fish filter over it for the smell of drying the buds from last grow, that seemed to work pretty well. Thought I might cut a small hole in the side of the plants soon to be closet box, stick one of those fans on there for exhaust! might be just crazy (or medicated enough) to make it work....

Right on liking the pic ,AHHH the good days of birth and new life In the winter all I use is a computer fan get them at any computer store most have them for like 10$ and just plug it to the timer for lights. your room is not overly big and fan will be on when lights are on you don't need allot of CFM a 50-90 would be choice. Oh you can make a reflector for like 20$ and a pair of tin snips amd self tapping screws. Let me know if interested I will get dimensions for you I have a plane some where i will look for it and they are quite simple to make. With the dual arc you can just have a 4" vent hole at top of room would be good if you can control the smell that way it will might save some on the pocket but you must have an intake close to plants and at bottom.
With that 400W Dual Arc there will be a little heat but it is very easy to control. Also My 400W DA burns less then my computer on electricity .

That link he is pretty good get my bulbs off him and get for other people 2 and never had any probs. he will accept Orders outside of ebay encase you don't want to pay though ebay . My SW400/600 watt digital ballast I got off him and works like a charm. I ran the 430 shps but once I tried the duAR I stuck with it. Less heat and my plants grew better more healthier.Plus you can do Vegg Right though to flower under that one light if needed with no flaws.I love it My best Investment in my grow hobbie

Hey all, here's an update on Hope. The other 2 still haven't shown up... I'm not sure about them, so I'm in the process of cracking 2 more big bud seeds.
Other news:
The new timer actually works! (We've gone through 2 now that didn't work, at all)
I've also got a little vent fan from wal mart running in the direction of Hope, but I'm not sure if it should be on all the time. Any suggestions?

Hi, just a small update:
I popped 2 new seeds, and put them in soil. Then, I found a mini green house and put the seeds and Hope in it.
So far, everything's rockin, except the soil is a little cool with Hope tonight after the temperature outside dropped, but I'm hoping this green house thing will keep them all a bit warmer. If not, we'll have to figure something else out.

Yeap! we have a couple different sized pots we are going to transplant them to and from before they finally end up in their final home (5 gallon bucket). My bud schmokem and I have had crazy conflicting schedules for the past week or so, limiting our communication, thoughts, and ideas about our babies.

But nute cycle will start very soon. Time for her to get big

Since I cant seem to get ahold of you sir, ill explain the nutes with this chart. I have one identical to it in my car. come over and get it.

Consider the first time you give her nutes week 1. make sure your looking at the left side of the chart.... SINCE she is a seedling still, and very small, we are going to start giving her nutrients at 1/4 strength at most. So mix the fox farms into some water and follow that chart. (NOT EXACTLY... but thats what I used for last crop and seemed to work out just dandy...) water her with clean water ((WHEN SHE NEEDS IT)) 3 times, and the 4th time do 1/4 strength nutes. Next time Im around to top her, we will also transplant into a bigger container. She will like that.

Watch for any signs of stress.

So these past few days have been hectic... They were mainly spent holding an umbrella over a video camera to keep the rain off of it so my group could finish a film due on thursday for film class... Can you guess what else we used the umbrella for?

Anyway, here's another shot of Hope...

She's also got a new set of smaller leaves, they're just too small for this camera. Gonna start nutes tomorrow using that cool chart, after I buy some proper measuring tools. Don't wanna over feed Hope

So....Hope blossomed into a lovely young woman... and then for some reason (cough cough a heater was on her and apparently she didnt like all the heat...) so some of her shrivled up. BUT. she has some new green growth on her. but to make up for our loss. we doubled down..... agaiN! we got two six week old SUPER SILVER HUSH clones. They are going into flowering soon. They are huge already, and we hope to have new pictures.


NOW.

Today, on our agenda, we are going to attempt (if our grow shop would ever open...) to get some new lights. we intend on dropping a couple hundred bucks into the setup, but in return, end up with some nice bushy sluts.

Hey guys! long time no see! just stopping in to say whatsup! and give an update Long story short. Before our local grow shop had a chance to close, we managed to grab a new light setup for a good deal. And we also wanted a veg room, so we ordered more lights online.

Our new setup looks like this:
Veg: 400w with a cool spectrum for veg
Flower: 1000w hps with some super bulb that came with it...
Fox Farms line of nutes
Mylar up in the flower room, Veg room got too hot with mylar in there.
To date we have:

5 Seedlings of White Rhino from https://www.-------------------/ - 9 days old

2 Super Silver Haze plants. not hush, haze apparently. they are roughly 2-3 weeks outside of being harvested. (they were ''feminized plants from seed'' when we got them, not clones... yet we started with 4 and ended up with 2 girls XD)

We plan on popping 5 ''Royal Hash'' seeds this weekend sometime, As well as get 4-6 more clones. ill be posting pictures here in a few...

Right on man that is awesome and they are looking good.Put off some Headband(sour kush) ,man that stuff is very tasty and potent. also put off some bubblelicious and wounderwoman. The bubble gum was really good.Couldn't believe how much it does taste like bubble gum.
I am waiting for 1 of each to be done flowering and then I have 16 sourkush to veg and flower. If you have a chance to get some of that do it. It is unbelievably good .
I will need your Addy I have some bubleliciuos and some headband seeds for you. I will give 10 of each and in them you will find the one to be mom. they are crossed with blue-mystic which i didn't have a chance to grow yet but my friend did and they are something else to.Smoking a joint of headband and blue mystic crossed now and i think it improve taste and potency a bit for something that was already excellent it is even better.
Now I got to go I have 16 plants to water and take care of .
