Mago: Texas style

Don't go no where !!!

I'm just gettin' Started Good :cheesygrinsmiley:(BOSEG)

I did learn,
No Pure Sativas after the first week of January.
SBG can go out till friggin' mid-March
and the "yet to be named" Sat/SBG seem to work best if before March.

Everything looks very stable.

Cloning outdoors can be a pain.
No direct sunlight,
they prefer shade till they're rooted.

My clone survival rate in the soil mix I use for potted plants, potted vegetables and wildflowers, sucks.
Couldn't get but maybe 1-2 out of 10 to root in it.
Using nothin' but FoxFarms Ocean forest and they all take.

I really should keep better records,
just hate that much Intel layin' around.
It can bite ya' in the ass if the shit hits the fan.

And the last one is hangin':
For 420G, had to bag her for a couple days,
just to see if I would get *extra* anything out of it.

justa Stump now :)
But I have SBG3 x PureSat
Sat/SBG2 x PureSat
PureSat x PureSat
Now :cheesygrinsmiley:

Oh and,
We had a photo shot here yesterday,
should have the files in a couple days :cheesygrinsmiley:

Seeds gettin' dropped steady and pumpin' out clones.
I've stopped takin' them in the mornin', in order to up my survival rate,
only take them in the late evenings now.

Darlin'(1 mnth-3mnth) goin' into the wildWild,
Day 2 and they are holdin' their own.
This week will be a test, mid-90s and Maybe some rain late week.

Makes me wish I had Mo' :)
hmmm, Mago Land Trust, may have to look into that!

Got 3 Darlin's out,
Mago's Blue Bastard(SBG2/Sat), hangin' hardy so far in the record heat we have had.
a KyChronic#2 & MBB turned out male while they were sittin' out hardenin'.

Lost almost all the flowerin'/buddin' clones from DaStar
But I still got her left arm :cheesygrinsmiley:

Got beans poppin', tryin' to use up all the older seed.

I drowned a batch of TxBW#1, stuff happens
Gettin' ate up by bugs, damn sand fleas and fire ants.
Just gota' strapOn the sprayer and go to town, a couple more times.
Neem to stay orgass ... 'er I mean organic

Time to turn the Trash to Stash,
about a Lb waitin' to get separated
Went through it to see what was there and
Dambn, I musta been high when I culled it out!!!
found a bunch of littl' buds that kicked my butt.

Much happier Now :cheesygrinsmiley:

Great work, DaMagoMan. I've been enjoying your grow and love reading your "writings" or "cannabis ramblin". You'll have to pen us a story, or weave some poetry.

420grower, sorry to hear about your health. Have you gotten a lawyer?.

Grezzy, you're always talking dirty.

LMAO,
y'all had to leave him an opening didn't ya's :cheesygrinsmiley:
Just be gentle (smrk)

And speaking of cannabis rambling,
I spent the last few days experimenting with kif.
I've come to the conclusion,
when we use water extract methods,
we are washing away oils that are needed to maintain the quality of the Buzz.
How you ask did I conclude this.
I've seen the oily sheen every time I've done cold water extract.
Smoked the end product and didn't get as high as smokin' the powder that was used in the extract process.
Now, I ain't talkin' smoke a littl' or just one day of testing.
I been testing for 3 days and the base powder that I am using to extract from gets me higher than the finished product.
I've been over all batchs and samples with the microScope , trichs 50-70 amber.
More trichs in the finished stash! It should be kickin' my ass.
I thought well maybe it's the higher chlorophyll and Nitrogen levels that are making me think I'm higher. Could that be?
If I take the powder and run it through my new grinder/collector, it's better than the finished product too.

Therefor it seems to me,
somethin' is washin' out during the extract wash.
I've seen the oily sheen even after skimmin' all the plant matter out.
Which makes me think there was a lot more to start with that got skimmed out with the plant matter.
I know THC is not water soluble, not sayin' it is,
But it ain't in the water, It's On the water.

I may go back to chemical extract using grain alcohol.
Or just rubbin' and grindin' it into a collector.

and Now back to the Farm,
TxChronic#1 didn't sprout after over a week.
Was dumpin' dead containers yesterday and realized one had seed in it and not a dead clone. I rooted through the dirt and didn't find one sprout.

Seems the fire ants found my clone garden and made themselfs to home.
One of the reasons my clones are havin' a tough time gettin' started.
I'm gonna rise them off the ground and see if that helps. Not to mention I've covered the area with Amdro's fire ant bait, not the regular formula but the New Fire Strike formula.
And the drought means the only place the bugs can find water is in the Gardens.

I hate ants. I freaking hate ants... The little black ones I can kill... I don't want to be in the same freaking zip code as red ants. I'd hose the plant form a distance... When it was time to harvest I'd lite it on fire and stand down wind. I've had good luck with Grants Ant Stakes.

The fire ants are hell and they are moving northward.

They just been runnin' loose around here at least the last 5 yrs.
So I got my work cut out for me.

I think I'm gonna buy a small tent and use it to process down to kif.
I figure once it's kif I can do butter, chem extract or just compress it, with littl' effort.

Smokes good just as it is, bowl full at a time is friggin' great.

Oh and I have seen 2 horned lizards diggin' holes in the gardens.
So far they haven't caused any damage.
Hope they are takin' out some of the bugs for me.
I found the holes before I saw the lizards. Not horny toads
But some sorta tree climin' horned lizard. Fast littl' buggers Too.

I got about 2000 more sqft opened for cultivation,
wish it was alll for Darlin's
but they will only have a few spots available to them,
until the surrounding crops are harvested.
Timing is such a bitch.
I harvested the first batch of corn and left the stalks to keep my cover. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I gota' share this with y'all,
A featured property in Saturdays paper:

29.2 acres, Fully fenced, automatic gate
2,622 sqft '94 custom built house,
3 bedroom/3 bath, with His & Her bathrooms for the MasterBR
2 car garage with mud room
screened patio
manicure lawn with automated watering system

1,998 sqft barn/shop with full bath and laundry with A/C
15 foot double doors

small barn, corral and 80x180 pen

covered RV parking with full hookup to second septic system
12 kw electric generator(genSet)
1000 gal. diesel tank

2100 sqft "commercial grade" Greenhouse with separate power
solar powered rainwater collection system with 10,000 gal. tank

700 ft well with 5hp pump for 32gpm

a mere 370,000$

That would be Sooooo Nice :cheesygrinsmiley:

Wow - that water system must have cost a bundle @ 700' and a 5hp pump w/ only 32 GPM...water is like gold and I don't think that property has enough. 'course that 10000 gallon tank might help...

Anywayz...mad props for your grow efforts bubba. Things are looking up. :peace:

It's got a city line too.
They are raising hay now so it doesn't take much water.
Like no irrigation needed.

Today I'm setting up my clone area a littl' better.
Moved everybody out,
layed down the FireStrike ant killer and sprayed the area with Neem.
Then I'll lay down black weed barrier fabric and bring everybody back.
See if that helps a bit with my clone survival rate.

I got this naggin' feelin' I need to setup a humidity dome/box.
But I'm gonna work on the bug problem first.
Got too hot to quick this year.

Oh snap,
I had a rose rooting humid dome
that was a ring of aluminum about 8-12 inches tall with a spray nozzle(screw type) buried in the middle, pointing up under sand.
I need another one of them setup.

I may have to run misters through out the garden at some point.
Really tough to watch every thing wilt under a noon sun
and it's already/still soaked from the morning watering.
I got a calcium def besides the bugs.
Mom is drivin' me crazy with her insistence
on using triple 13(13-13-13) in the garden.
Tried to tell her it ain't good for nothin'
but compost starter and spreadin' on the lawn.

I lost a KyChronic #2 to rodents.
Found her, ya' that's the bad part it was a known female, chopped off.
Even with a full moon I couldn't tell how bad But this strain doesn't appear to like toppin'.
There does appear to be some small lower nodes left. I'll check it out in the daylight and get some pics of the other girls today.
I was gonna take the tape measure out to add scale to the pics but that may draw attention if I'm seen.
They, the others out in the Wild are about 4 foot now, all un-topped except for one Mago's BlueBastard(SBG/Sat) that is LST due to placement issues, too out in the open.

Still no Pro-Pics,
he should be back from bonaroo by now.

Wallaways url???, are ready to be culled and transplanted.
Their second nodes are coming in.
Ain't gonna be any cullin',actually, they'll all be kept :cheesygrinsmiley:

Been thinkin' about baggin' the smaller sativa since I'm low on smoke.
She isn't as spread out(LSTed) as the other one so the bag should fit without doin' any damage.

I gota' a new email addy, check my profile.

The cats are bringin' in more rodents But the bar-ditch also got mowed and they(the rodents) had no place to hide anymore :cheesygrinsmiley:
Had 3 dead rodents layin' around the yard the other day
and the baby kitties sure did enjoy them.
I recon' they taste better than the rocks the kittens play with.
Found Stubbs playin' with a little mole.
Didn't realize we had moles.
Damn, if it ain't one thang, It's three.

I just can't seem to get clones to start in this heat or bug problem,
my success rate is down to about 20%.
Even the Sativas are only 50-75%.
And I missed out on a free greenhouse on craigs list.
