Hello growers, I've been using Mars-Hydro LEDs for awhile and I love my lights! Come and join my grow for the 3rd Mars-Hydro Cup. You can follow me here, Instagram or YouTube find the links in my signature!

To start this grow, I cleaned and sterilized my 4x4 indoor grow tent.
420-magazine-mobile778381693.jpg

Next I have 4 crates I'll be using under the buckets this grow, for now I'll be using 2 of them.

I have 4 5.3 gallon square buckets I'll be using. I sterilized them all with 91℅ isopropyl alcohol
420-magazine-mobile362828150.jpg

I then added my lids that are covered in foil tape, and cut for 8 inch net pots.

Now I add my 4 outlet air pump, and thread my blue air tubes through the net pots, and attach my large air stones to the end of the hoses. It is very important to note the hoses must be cut to the same length, otherwise you will have differences in the amount of air coming out of each stone, or worse, you'll have some that won't work at all.

Awesome good bubbles everywhere! Time to add the hydroton to the nets(rinsed of all silt) and the freshly rooted clones, planted approximately halfway down.

For the purposes of this journal, I decided to keep track of each clone by numbering them 1-4

And of course, the grow wouldn't be complete without rocking my Mars-Hydro reflector 48s, I'll slam 2 of them above these baby's for now untill they're bigger, with the bloom switch to the off position.

All this was done yesterday on the 1st of January. I will update 1-2 times a week and will update daily on Instagram! I will also have a video update on my YouTube channel once a week.

Once these girls drop roots, I will add nutrients and perform a res change every 6-10 days.

Wow I am personally a heliospectra fan but I do love your setup. Perfect for a personal collection. I look forward to see the process!

Subbed :) Nice job making your own DWC buckets

It's been one week since I planted these bear dance clones in DWC. I had to add a heater to this grow after a local Blizzard through my area. So I could keep my temps at around 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
420-magazine-mobile1851249111.jpg

I've removed a few leaves that had begun to yellow while I wait for my nutrients to arrive in the mail. I went ahead and mixed quarter strength bloom nutrients from another grow in 12 gallons of water. Adjusted to a 5.7 with 210 PPMs. The roots in each net pot are beginning to drop into the water. I no longer need to top feed water to my plants twice a day. Next week I will have enough roots in the water to start WEEK 1 VEG. Here's the girls under those Mars-Hydro Reflector 48s!

:high-five: :goodjob: haha, Krazy , wish you good luck, promise you we will check your grow journal carefully !!!!!!
Awesome! I can't wait to showcase your new lights, I'll be making an extensive journal for that as well.

Well time for a quick update, my roots have started to explore their way out of the net and have found their home in the cool water. I will give them about 3 to 5 days to let the roots reach out a little bit more and then I will begin WEEK 1 VEG. Here are the roots thus far.

These babies have had several roots drop into the water over the past few days, the roots have also started to branch and reach out in every direction.
I decided yesterday to start WK1 VEG. That means it's time to talk Nutes. For this grow, I'm going to be rocking out with the ELITE nutrient line! I've never used ELITE and I'm excited to try them out. Let's see what I'll be working with!

Here is the whole line I picked up from the guys at ELITE and let me tell you the customer care was phenomenal! Everytime I sent an email no matter what the question, they responded fast, with knowledgable input too! Anyways guys here's the line up!

Elite Base Nutrient A (4-0-1)

"Gives your plants the solid foundation they need to thrive. Elite Base Nutrient A provides full-lifecycle plant nutrition for both hydroponic and traditional growing environments. Performance is improved when used in a combination with it's scientifically optimized partner, Elite Base Nutrient B.

Elite Base Nutrient B (0-5-4)

"Give your the plants solid foundation they need to thrive. Elite Base Nutrient B provides full life-cycle plant nutrition for both hydroponic and traditional growing environments. Performance is improved when used in combination with it's scientifically optimized partner Elite Base Nutrients A"

420-magazine-mobile53676110.jpg

Elite Root Tonic C (0-10-12)

Strong plants start at the roots! Elite Root Tonic may be used as a soil conditioner or directly to stimulate plant health and wellness during the vegetative stages of growth and throughout the plant's lifecycle."

420-magazine-mobile306390542.jpg

Elite Resin D (1-3-16)

Healthy plants need lots of food. Elite Resin D provides the vital nutrients necessary in the later and final stages of growth and promotes the development of rich, full flowers.

420-magazine-mobile183628610.jpg

Elite Root Igniter (0-0-0)

The beginning stages of plant growth are the most critical. Elite Root Igniter is used to bolster root structure and Improve nutrient uptake.

I am also going to be using Mammoth P

420-magazine-mobile1095368674.jpg

"Mammoth P the first organically derived microbial inoculant that maximizes phosphorus and micronutrient cycling to maximize bud growth, increase yield, and enhance plant health.

Now my reason behind my addition of Mammoth P is simply this: the more diverse your microbial life is at your roots, the healthier they will be. It's not that Root Igniter doesn't have enough microbes. It's that I want to give my plants the attention they deserve by giving them all kinds of different species of microbes! If I had some Great White, I would use it as well! Now with that said, Mammoth P will also help me a little more in BLOOM because it is specially formulated to help absorb phosphorus.

Another thing I'll add is Silicate 7.8℅
The one I'm using is some leftover I had from my Skunklabs grow. But you can get Silicate on eBay and mix your own.
Silicate is basically to help with plant stress. It's really good for heat and drought resistance. I love running it in all my set ups!

And the last thing I will run is some CaliMagic. I'll start with 1ml per gallon and work my way up as needed.

Now Elite has a nice little app that you can download to you phone. It's nutrient calculator is awesome! You can set it for your current resivoir size(or how much water you mix at a time for soil) and it will tell you exactly how much of each nutrient solution you will need!

I will be following the feeding schedule week by week exactly, unless my plants tell me to use a little more or less.
You can find the feeding schedule on their website.

I will not be posting the exact feeding measurements each week. I will let you know when something changes or if I have to add more or less of a nutrient than what's scheduled. I will however post the PPMS and PH of my nutrient solution with each res change.

I will perform res change every 6-8 days depending on workflow. And that will come with my main update every week.

With the Silicate, I will be using 1ml per gallon of RO water until day 7 of BLOOM, for the second and third weeks of bloom I will use 2mls per gallon of RO water. After the 3rd week is done I will stop using the Silicate.

For Mammoth P, I will be using it throughout the entire grow at the rate of .6ml per gallon rounded up to the next whole number. Ex- 12 gallons of RO water calls for 7.2mls of Mammoth P. I will use 8mls instead.

Now one thing that is important to note with this line, is that everything is in alphabetical order. (If using Silicate and cal-mag,add before anything else and start with the Silicate.)You start with A then B,C and if your in BLOOM stage, D. If your in Veg you don't use D. After those are good and mixed in you need to check and adjust PH to a 5.5-5.8, and then you can add the Root Igniter and any other microbes you might be using. OK enough of the chemistry and on with the Grow

Yesterday I performed res change and added the WK1 VEG nutes to 12 gallons of RO water(3 for each plant)

PPM 300
PH 5.6

I took these pictures today after this babies got to feed on on those WK1 Nutes for 24 hours. I swear, the roots almost doubled in one night! Rock on Marshydro, ELITE,and Mammoth P!!!

I just had to fly in to have a look :thumb:

I am a total MarsHydro light/tent fan. @SmokeSara would be happy to see this :)
Thanks AB I've seen you flying around the forums doing your part. I hope @SmokeSara enjoys the grow, I love growing wth Mars-Hydro, I've done the whole HPS thing and it just doesn't cut it, too much heat and too much hassle.

Yesterday I removed my Mars-Hydro Reflector 48s and installed 2x Mars-Hydro Reflector 144. I only have the growth switch on. With the addition of these awesome L.E.D.s, and ELITE Nutrients, these Bear Dance are making leaps in growth. Over the next couple weeks I will expect to see plenty of side branching, and explosive root growth. Here are the plants thus far.

Time to start WK2 VEG with a fresh Res change full of those awesome ELITE nutes and a healthy dose of the Mammoth P!
It's also time to cut the top on #4 today, I will wait a day or two for the other three to reach the same height, and then top them in preparation for the SCROG.

Looking gud subbed fo sho. How are you transferring old water out , new in? Keeping sterile with all the Mam pee? I did recirculating dwc for years but when I added to much shite and res temps went up the bad bacteria took over. Bad bacteria seemed to love sugary additives in warm environment. Your system looks nice and simple, easy to clean if need be. THe recirculating systems are difficult to clean all the tubing etc when things went south for me. I used pond enzymes bud got a lot of gunk from that. Me thinks steril is the way to go with dwc . Gud luk!
