Alright here we go. I started just over a week and a half ago from seed. This is my first grow so feel free to comment. As of right now i am watering with tap and half powered nutes(yes, i know, but my tap has been ok so far and ph'd right). I planted my seeds 5 days apart.

I'm going to upload some pics and then start asking for some thoughts on the grow.

Thanks Everyone!!!

So here are the babies being germinated. I just put the seeds in soil and added water and covered. All seeds poped up but 2.

After transplanting the first seeds. The ones in the cubes still are 5 days younger. I hope this doesn't mess me up trying to grow all at once. :/

All finally in 3 gal pots!!!

Yummy!

I was thinking I want to go with sea of green. I am trying to use just the one light. I dunno which are males and females. I think I'll grow these till there is enough to take clones and then i'll flower those to see the sex of the plants. I dunno if this is the best method or not......please let me know what you think.

Moksha!

Sea of Green is done w/ smaller containers packed together. You can flower the mothers once you know the clones will make it, or you can flower the clones to sex the mothers. Depends on your space and desires. Either will work. I like to flower the mother out because the seedling will yield more than a clone (about 20% more). May as well take the bonus on the bigger plant. Sample all the moms to find the "best" mother (which will be one of the clones) to keep long term. Start more seeds to fill the stable.

OG13!! Welcome to the journal! Thanks for the info. I think I will flower the seedlings as soon as I get some clones from them.

All I will have for the clones is a 4ft 6 bulb t5 light. Is this going to be enough? I don't have any other room besides this flower room. I was just going to hang the light and put a fan on the clones. I think the average house temp and humidity should be fine.

Again thanks for all the info you have provided thus far.

Hi Moksha, OG13 does it the way I do from seed to sex out. I too send the seeded plant but I usually take 4 clones from each plant to make sure at least one will make it. If you do this, may I suggest taking the top 1/4 of the plant and use it as a clone and any other cuttings that may be on there as well. This will cause the other colas to act sort of main colas and you will be surprised how well this works. You need to go down about 4 nodes from the top for this method, its slightly different than standard topping.

You will also need a separate room for the cuttings. They need at least 18 hours of light and your T5 is more than enough for them. You can make a makeshift room for them using black and white poly film and tape it to the ceiling and walls and floor to make a small room. Then buy a velcro zipper kit for about $7 and you have your small veg room :) Good luck, looking good.

Update: Week 2

Here are some pics of the babies as we speak. I have been using the Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil. I know this has plenty of nutes for the first few weeks. however.. I used 1/4 strength for seedlings.. Last week was 1/2 dose and i was wondering if it would be safe to use a full dose of nutes this week?

They are still kind of damp (soil) and watering is suppose to be tomorrow evening.....depending on the soil i might wait.

Other than that how do they look? Healthy...etc? I don't really know what to expect since this is my first grow. From what reading i have done these plants look ok and could use the nutes.....

I wouldn't go above 1/4 or 1/2 strength for the first couple of weeks. FFOF has plenty in it--usually will burn clones by itself depend on strain.

Week 2 - Mid-week check-up.

Everything looks good so far.

Feeding every 2.5-3 days. Full nute mix since Saturday.(was half strength before)

Last night I was admiring the babies and started to think about my plan of action. I obviously want to turn these plants out quick. Before kicking these babies over to 12/12 I want to pull at least 2 clones per plant. I was wondering if these were getting to be the right size to pull clones from? Also I read someplace that it is good to feed them water for a week before clipping. If this is true I was planning on feeding them water for the next week and hopefully they will be big enough to pull clones by then. Ideally I would like to flip to 12/12 by the end of the month. This way I could have a harvest close to Christmas!!! I could use a good guide on normal pruning as well. Some of these babies look like they might need to be thinned out?

Thanks in advance.

Update: Mid-week 5

It has been awhile since my last post and I have a lot of updates to post. First off the plants were transplanted out of 3/4 gallon pots into 4 gallon pots. I have also built a new room for flowering. The new room size is 14x10. I have also purchased a e-z cloner machine and another 600w hps/436cfm 6in fan.

Fist lets start with the cloner/veg room with the 4ft 6 bulb t5 lamp.

The clones have been in the ez cloner for three days and no roots yet. I am kind of nervous. I only dipped them in clonex gel. They are kinda mushy looking and white on the bottom. PH is 5.8 - 6

On To the new room!

I am about to hook the a 6in inline fan to draw in fresh air. The room temps are 78-81 with room humidity at 46-52.

And last but far from least...the plants and growth shots

I could use some reviews on how things are looking. I haven't cut much on the plants. I'm still not sure on what would be the best method. The plants are about to start the fourth week on the Fox Fams Fertz.....full strength! Water with near 6.7 -7PH and run off is around 5 - 5.5

Anything I could be over looking?

Lower the lights down as low as you can and still maintain light coverage. They will grow twice as fast. Make a label and attach it to the plant, not taped on the outside. How long are you going before flip. Remember that they will stretch in all directions for a few weeks after the flip.

Hey Og!

I have the lights at 18in. They started to burn at 14in before when I forgot to check them. I will go with your suggestion and move them to 16in. I wanted to be flowering by now, but I'm behind. Cloner started showing roots today. So on the feed today ill hit them with a last veg feeding(fox farm grow big and open sesaseme). After that on the next water cycle ill use the sledgehammer flush and hygrozime. Then its flower time.....

Note: way back on the first transplant I hurt a plant during transplant. Its still a runt. I think I should pull it.

pull the runt or give it away and make a friend....... I'm just saying to keep the lights as close as possible, don't waste lumens. You will be moving them at least once a day during the stretch.

the runt is gone. i am letting the plants grow to the light. i think 14in made them bleech out last time. last night was the second night of 12/12

this is the first week using open sesame. i went 12/12....i think i was suppose to start open sesame in the last week of veg. i hope this doesnt hurt them.

Update: Starting Week 6 of Flowering!

I will be adding photos of the girls today. I just want to install photoshop to see if i can make the picture quality look better(photos taken with an evo4g). Off to let adobe download and water/feed the girls. Hopefully I will have bud porn for you in less than an hour!

And of course this being my first grow I have some questions. The girls just look like they are struggling... I'm sure the girls are fine and just ending their flowering cycle.

How did this grow turn out?

We would love to be updated with some pictures and info!

How about posting a 420 Strain Review?

I am moving this to abandoned journals until we get updates.

Thanks and hope all is well in your world!

Love and respect from all of us here at 420 Magazine!
