Mountain Winter Indoor Grow

Day 55

Day 6 of flowering

All pots still look nice and moist this morning with the only one looking dry at all being my largest seedling. Gave only the dry one 16 oz poured very slow. All the others only got about 8 oz. Probably almost time to let them dry completely out again; been trying for a dry period about once a week. Seems to help prevent alot of issues while giving them a nice gulp of fresh air occasionally.
Growth is insane lately! Will measure again but looks like the largest seedling has caught up to the Wedding Cake in height. Definitely going to have to watch close and raise light a little plus maybe a good tie down soon (if i can bend them daily and maybe keep from having to).
Taking concentrate break today. But you know im still blazing on something yummy! Have a good one folks! :lot-o-toke:

Day 56

Day 7 of flowering

Looking great today! Some plants are already showing signs im heading in right direction. Here we are 1 week in to the 12/12 cycle seeing lots of preflower and starting to get very exciting, love it.
They ALL looked nice and dry this morning. Gave each pot about 20 oz very, very slowly as runoff % is waaay up today. Done the usual and rotated each pot then swapped spots with a few even. Wont be able to do this much longer as they should get to large and start kinda "interweaving" their foilage hopefully.
Done a pretty lengthy session of lst on the larger seedlings. So as of now the Wedding Cake clone is still the tallest right at 30 inches from the light. Coming in second is still the same largest seedling but is almost a tie with the middle one that is catching up fast; the middle sized one actually has alot longer internode sections before the colas. The taller Breakfast in Paris that was a rescue is also pretty much tied for second also making for a fairly level canopy !! Hopefully i can keep them close to same moving on forward hence the daily lst but we shall see..
From my garden to yours..cheers!! :yummy: :yummy: :yummy:

Im very happy to see so much action in week 1 and cannot wait for about 8 or 9 more weeks to pass..

Day 57

Day 8 of flowering

:morenutes::morenutes::morenutes:
Feeding time today! Gave each plant 1/4 tsp of all natural 4-8-4 bloom fertilizer, but this time i remembered to wet the medium first just to make sure its not running off. Slowly poured about 8 oz around base of each stalk, then poured all the dry ammend covering as much ground as possible for each, then another 8 oz super slow poured to each in same areas. This seems to ensure most of the food actually getting down deep to where it can do some good, but not to deep. To finish i sprayed all the outer dry edges down until i see no dry.
Measured how much room left and Wedding Cake is 29 inches from light, which is not far from burn range with this light(seen a few times so far). So i may go ahead and raise some if she wont bend good. Getting nice even top for a few plants, hopefully can get them all semi-close for easier management. I'll check back before lights out later..cheers!

Done a little lst on seedlings and pruned a tad on rescues. Just taking a sec to show their progress for one week of flower time down. I am 100% sure all 3 seedlings are indeed female now thankfully! Now just a little tlc and patience..

Trimmed alot of the inner fan leaves from seedlings that were blocking all the secondaries light. Im happy with results. Also done quite a bit of lst, close to actual supercropping in some places. The seedlings are measuring really close to 30 inches from light still which is great considering the rampant growth. Im obviously just gonna have to keep at it and and keep watch. Dab time fr and goodnight 420!

Day 59

Day 10 of flowering

This morning they smelled the best i have caught a wiff of yet!! Very pleasing sweet slightly skunky smelling mmm. Other than aroma the rescues and maybe even my older clone seem like they were just waiting for lights to flip..wow i love it. Little "budlets" have developed pretty much head to toe of both the Wedding Cake and the Breakfast in Paris rescue clones. All the seedlings and older clone seem to be developing more traditionally which i dont mind at all either; beatiful white hairs on all ..two rows on all seedlings and even three on the largest! Needless to say I am excited to go forward, cheers gang! Enjoy from here out im addicted to cannabis photos...lol

Gave the usual 16 oz poured super slow..then rotated them all a quarter turn then today actually swapped back to front. Going to remove pully system later and hang light without for the last possible six inches of height.

BiP rescue

Ok so..Wedding Cake is still at 30 inches which is fine..however, the tallest seedling is 29 inches and climbing despite all the lst and is even still healing from a crack in her middle; ive determined its time to go ahead and remove the pully system for the extra inches. Also when i measured it was actually 8 inches we are going to gain! Now is better then later in my opinion because they seem to be well into their "stretch" phase now we are solidly into the 12/12 cycle..i think it will make these girls even taller maybe? kinda hope so..

Measured both sides to make sure fairly even then a nice strip of packing tape will hold things in place until end of grow.

Nooo!! Please tell me this isnt a male?!...Found a couple balls...and not seeing nearly as many white hairs on this one if any?! Definitely some but not near as many as the other for sure females. Just want some more trained eyes...hate to chop but thats definitely what will happen if male...Please take a look 420...let me know what you guys think..thanks in advance.

Its already seperated...and yea longer i look...i think male . . zero white hairs except for flower centers. little "balls" in a few spots...just crazy its showing sooo late and ive heard of strange calyxes that have fooled people...so ill keep an eye on IT for now. but the moment i feel for sure male...it getting the chop!

I decided to put back in tent. carefully snipped largest ball and dissected; just seemed like cutting moist grass throughout? I see like 2 more smaller and a few tiny lumps in where preflower would start...here is what has me still believing...ive researched allll day and unless i misunderstood males DO NOT grow white hairs. The tops of all eight colas have what appear to be wispy white hairs coming from center which indicate female. Now these white hairs combined with age and the fact i found three "balls" total make me lean back to female.
So for now it lives and we shall see...but just ask around what happened to last punk that messed with me ladies muahaha.

Pulling up a seat, I'm here to help. Nice babies!

One thing I have noticed with fabric bags. They come with handles integrated - out of the way or on top. I use the pout of the way types and fill the soil close to the top maybe an inch only left. I have to be more careful watering but the added soil is significant for root development. I also have gone from a minimum size 5 gal fabric pot to a 7 or even 10 gal grow pots. I find that root ball size is directly related to plant size out output,

Hey welcome and i completely agree. Actually planning on topdressing them this week sometime as soon as i can go get more medium. Maybe even up-pot the BiP clone that remains in a smaller pot, although a little late. Been studying up on male/female identification obviously today..please feel free to leave any advice or opinion. Always happy to have another set of eyes on things. Cheers!

Cannabis plants show their sex by what grows in between their nodes (where leaves and branches extend from the stalk). Pollen sacs will develop on a male plant to spread seeds and stigma will develop on a female to catch pollen. You can see these differences weeks before they actually start serving their purposes in the reproduction cycle. These are known as “pre-flowers.”

Cannabis is easy to sex, watch early development and girls and boys separate early. Cannabis is a dioecious plant, meaning male or female reproductive organs appear on different plants.

I also like to use Silver Thiosulphate (TSP) to make one branch of my female plants male and generate pollen to fertilize my plants. I do this in a separate tent, cleaned and sanitized each time. Basically you make a female plant have one part that is male and use that pollen to fertilize your plant making feminized seeds.

I hope this helps!

I'll agree most are easy to sex.. but every now and then i get a funky one. Plus only being my second grow...have you ever seen a male grow white hairs on tops? I have seen 1 hermie last grow...and 1 male so far this grow. And this one ive been looking at is just very strange...white hairs growing ONLY on flowering tops. Ive found a couple pollen sac looking balls that could have been calyxes but im not sure yet; and its shorter, and it didnt show any sex before two other females, now they are obvious female full flower. Hopefully its just some strange acting genetics, but im going with different peoples advice and waiting for more obvious signs until culling. Thanks!
