1 day update. Man these things really grow fast. Today they decided they were going to really display their smell. It smells mighty fine.

You don't need to flush, but with soilless media like coco or promix (did you get the giant bag from Pacific Northwest Garden Supply? I love that place) it's not a bad idea to wash the grow media with pH'd water once in a while to remove excess salt buildup. Water normally when you do that, though.

52 days in and the girls are just getting bigger and bigger. Haven't really run into any issues lately. Just letting them do their thing. I added some cal mag to my last watering. These things are almost needing water daily. I am feeding weekly.

Am I doing something wrong as far as generating interest to this thread? I feel like I am just writing in a secret diary. I promise I'm not the fuzz

Nice journal. The photos without the LED lights look so much better. Did I see a heater in your tent? Why? Why not just use an HID light?

The bushiness of the plants looks nice. However, I would consider trimming the lower leaves that are hidden in the shade. Even removing some of the smallest flowers so that more energy can be spent on the bigger flowers that get good light.

Yeah I do prefer the non LED pictures but taking them out can be quite a chore.

I live in a desert in northern Canada. It gets frigid in the winter and scorching in the summer. My room is in a 21x21 foot cement underground bunker, but can still get warm in the summer. Setting up AC in this room is not an option so HID isn't really an option. I also like the fact the lights don't get hot for safety reasons.

I trimmed the bottom leaves as you suggested. I was hesitating because I didn't want to hurt them.

I am now on day 57. Things appear to be going well. One plant is behind on flowering. It decided to beg for about a week longer than the other. Both identical autos planted at exact same time. The one that is a week behind sprouted a day before the other. It it taller bigger branches but as I said just flowered and showed sex later. Everything appears to be good.

I am having issues with drainage. I am feeding right now 2 litres and getting no run off. All the holes are dry in those areas. Does anyone have any suggestions as I can not remove the plants at this point.

Nuckscelts First Grow Ever! - 2016 - Candy Cane!

Can somebody please help me. I have these brown spots growing all over the leaves of my one plant. At first I thought they were maybe burn droplets from nutes but now I am starting to believe otherwise. Please help if you know.

I did a little searching and it seems like a manganese excess. Can someone tell me how I can reverse this? Should I flush?

Hey bro just reading your journal. Im on my first grow as well. As far as drainge ive heard perlite mixed with the soil would help air out and help the soil drain. You have some beautiful girls.

It has been a stressful week. The PH in my soil was super low and nute locked my plants. My one plant was affected really bad. Almost every leaf. I was able to flush it and then give nutes with a foliar spray. Eventually dried out and gave it a drink with nutes and cal mag. They are doing much better now. I am bummed out but hey it's all part of learning.

Day 64 and this is where the girls are at. I think the smaller plant is getting closer to harvest. Big plant is a week behind and just starting to bulk buds.

Hey, that cc is looking good and frosty. I grew some candy canes autos for my first grow too. Had ph and lockout issues that ruined my entire crop. I'm on my second grow now, ran into the same issue but was ready this time and fixed it in time. Hoping by the third grow ill know enough not to have the issue at all lol. Your doing a lot better on your first grow then i did. Just Keep learning, each grow gets better. :thumb: :passitleft:

Looks great I have a candy cane and northern lights going now. I'm at day 60 and still no pistils.
Are they autos? Can you give a short description of your setup? My auto candy cane as soon as they hit 14 days they are dying to share their sex.

Thanks pal. It seems to be quite common and very difficult to research. I got lucky and caught mine on time. Crappy part is I know my grow won't be good quality. It's all about learning. I really love growing. This community is so amazing for us growers.

Here's a couple Frost pics of the most damaged plant;
