My electric bill is too high

Wow,
I am running an HID 600w in an open 4x4 area with a 1000w EdenPure space heater, humidifier, duct fan and a 20" floor fan. My electric bill for last month at $202.00, that is $50 to $60 higher than at non grow rates.
What size is your grow space? I have five plants at 5 weeks bloom.
Good thing you are wealthy.

So my electric bill went from 200$ a month to $500 a month. I knew my bill would go up a bit but not that much. Is there any lights I can buy that won’t make my bills so high? Cus at this point. I’m not profiting from growin. I have 6 of these lights bought off amazon

Nah cus It use to be $220 max before I started to grow
There are lamps that are more efficient than what you're using.

With greater efficiency you pays more for the lamps. A lot more.

If you're 200 plus a month check into getting a new refrigerator and changing all your lights over to 5w leds in your home. Those 2 things brought my electric bill down from 200 to around 80 bucks. Then started growing and went back up to 200 plus. That was my old home.

Now I have solar and dont pay to power my lighting anymore. :passitleft:

PG&E in California charges around
$0.14 kWh. That rate is in Tier 1 use.

As your energy consumption increases, they can and will move you to the 2nd tier of rates, which is more around ~$0.23 kWh.

If you exceed that rate of usage, you get billed in the 3rd tier which is insane at around $0.30's kWh?

So as California relaxes on the grow your own idea, the power company adopts a "tier plan" to discourage "over consumption".

Hello Christinec26, you're sure as hell not the first to be sold a dud by Bezos.
An awful lot of his employees feel the same way.

So as California relaxes on the grow your own idea, the power company adopts a "tier plan" to discourage "over consumption".
And they can't even supply reliable service in the first place.
They turn off the power when the wind blows because they can't or won't maintain their equipment so it doesn't fall down and burn out entire towns.

It is no fun living in a socialist, third-world, piss hole country.
