New Grower's Journal - Northern Lights Auto By RQS

The flowers have appeared.
Wow. If that's the case its only day 31 today so they were right on point. Gonna be about 9 weeks total then. 3/4 of the plants have started I think the 4th is a bit shorter and taking its time...im not too worried.

I did some plucking and I hope I didn't go overboard. I'm learning its hard to leave the plants alone. My 2nd grow will definitely be different. At this point I think the plant in the pic is starting to flower. Its my tallest plant as well. its day 32 today and I plucked a few leaves off and took the plant benders off. I think I will water and feed tomorrow.

Day 33. All 4 plants are in flower. I think its the 3rd or 4th day of flower. 2 of the shorter plants are a couple of days behind.

Watered and fed with bloom nutrients and CalMag at 1/2 dose at Ph6.4. Found some spots on one of the plants so I sprayed some neem oil just in case. Ill post better pics tomorrow.

Plants look happy maybe little low in nitrogen. If your looking into the pest issue, put some sticky cards up. Hopefully you will catch the bastard. If your talking about this damage it looks thripy

Thank for the reply my friend. I added sticky pads today just in case. I really doubt I have a pest issue but in case I do the pads are in the tent now. Haven't seen a gnat/fly since week 2. Either way I hope I don't have a pest issue that would be a bummer. I sprayed some neem oil yesterday as well.

About the Nitrogen, I thought I had excess Nitrogen instead of a deficiency. Its interesting you say they don't have enough but I am new at this so I am trusting your advice. I thought you had to lower the Nitrogen once the flowering starts, which I didn't do and therefore thought that's what caused the burnt tips. I did switch to the bloom nutrients on the last feed and that should technically lower the Nitrogen.

Today is day 34 and all plants are flowering now.

Here is some better pictures of day 34.

The spots visible on Plant #1 are neem oil stains I sprayed yesterday.

Plants look healthy overall. Now we just focus on bud growth.

Could be the lighting in the pictures. I definitely don't think they have to much nitrogen, that would cause much darker leaves. I seen a bit of yeller in the young growth. I like to increase the nitrogen in vegetation. Gives them the boost they need

I think it's the flash from the camera. The leaves have always been full green. At first I thought that just means they're healthy but its a sign of high nitrogen as well like you said. Here is some pictures from today.

The spots you see on some of the leaves in these pics are neem oil btw.

So day 36 today and last night I did a heavy defoliation of the plants. This might be a little late since 3 of the plants are almost week 1 from start of flower, but I felt like it was my last chance to do this.
So I cut everything down that was small and left just the main bud sites. And today they seem to have grown already, so I am hoping they're able to recover quick and grow the flowers. I gave them a little bit of plain well water at Ph6.4. Next time we're going to feed them at 1/2 dose of nutrients and water a little more. 1.5L per plant.

Let me know what you guys think. And I included a pure natural light pic finally.

Good afternoon Amigo.
Colors are great, girls look happy.
I usually wait until the stretch is finished before I defol.
Then I only remove what's under her skirt.
Anything getting light stays.
Any girls with limited foliage I don't touch at all. :Namaste:
Do you have your lights @100% ?Both phases v&f ?
What distance?

Bill, thank you. Right now I only have the bloom switch on the light on. And the distance is probably around 12-14 inches away from the tallest plant. A few more inches away from the others.

I know for my first grow I probably shouldn't touch the plant as much but I wanted to try this. If anything I should have left 2 of the plants alone. Oh well let's see what happens.

Turn the veg on aswell.
She needs the spectrum.
When they finish stretching we should measure again.
See how far the light is.
Enjoy buddy.

Bill, I am currently measuring between 350-550 ppfd on the plants tips with just the bloom switch on. If I have both on it goes up to 1200 ppfd for the tallest plant. And about 950 on the shortest. Is that too high you think?

There is light spectrums in the veg phase that she requires aswell in flower.
I never turned the veg off never. :Namaste:
Week 5 ? Your light should be on full by now.
Try it for a few hrs and see how they react.
They need as much light energy as they can get now.
