Non Stop Grows

Mar 5/20: Day 25

-Newest Black Sugar has sprouted!

-Been checking PPM daily. Not noticing a drop, sometimes noticed an increase. I suspect the water I add to top up res is growing something due to sitting stagnant.

-Roots still pretty small. Spraying them again to hopefully help them want to grow longer and get a constant feed

-While lights are off, Peyote Gorilla ladies drooping

Mar 6/20: Day 26

-Time to feed the plants! I have added 3mL of bloom, 10ml of cal mag, and 6mL of micro, grow, carbo blast, and super B

-pH= is 6.1, with a water temperature of 20.8°C

-Added 4.5 L of RO water (checked PPM prior to adding it was 1)

-Sprayed bottom of mesh baskets with water

Mar 7/20: Day 27

-I have put the small rockwool containing the new Black Sugar Rear in the mesh pot surrounded by hydroton that has been soaking in pH 5.5 water for 3 days

-There was a small root poking out the bottom of the small rockwool for the Black Sugar Rear

-All 3 of the other plants have very small roots… they’re not growing much. Not sure what to do to promote longer roots to reach the water reservoir

Lookin good King! In my Dwc setup I get the roots to grow down by having an airspace between the net pot and the res. The airstones in the buckets pop bubbles on the hydroton making the roots grow down to find the res. Not sure if that's the kind of setup you have but that's what works for me. Also keep in mind your plants look fairly young so it can take awhile for them to make their way into the res.

I’ll try and show you how it looks when I get a chance! What I try to avoid is the rockwool on the two front ones getting wet causing them to be possibly rot, but with the hydroton, I was thinking if it was all hydroton with a small rockwool, I could increase water height so it’s touching. The plants roots will love it and from there I could lower the level? Not too sure

Mar 9/20: Day 29

-Peyote Gorilla Front and Rear reaching 5 nodes each

-Black Sugar Front reaching about 3 nodes now

-Black Sugar Rear has shed her helmet- help free this time. Also she has both of her Cotyledon leaves this time around! Needed to add water as the rockwool was nearly completely dry

-Topped up water in res with RO water

Mar 11/20: Day 31

-Peyote Gorilla Front and Rear both have 6 nodes

-Cut all growth above and under the third node mark on each of the Peyote Gorillas (Mainlining)

-Black Sugar Rear at 4 leaves. Watered manually as the hydroton seemed dry

-Black Sugar Front at 4 nodes

-Pictures to come

-Placed bowl that I filled with res water underneath the hydroton to promote root growth

Mar 12/20: Day 32

-Peyote Gorilla Rear that has the bowl with res water has grown longer roots!

-Peyote Gorilla Front and Rear both seem to be doing well post training!

-Black Sugar Rear is now sprouting its 3 pronged leaves (still tiny)

Looking good! I'll be watching how the mainlining works. I've been quadlining last couple of grows but I don't think it's the best way to grow little plants in two gallon pots. You have to wait quite a long time before there's any substantial growth from the two lower branches of the X. Meanwhile you're fighting with the the shoots growing quickly from the upper two branches.

If you have the rhubarb/cabbage pheno, be careful with the seperation, its a easy snapper. Judging from your pic, Id say it is not.

What does that pheno look like?
The one on the left, I call it BS1, seems to be what everybody has been getting. The one on the right, BS2, is a super vigorous grower. Thick rhubarb'd stalk that snaps more easily than BS1 on bend with big fluffy cabbage fans and deeper greens.

This picture doesnt do it justice, but BS1 is 2 weeks older then the one on the right. To further detriment, the BS2 has been snapped twice and its mainline is offset 90 degrees because of the snap jobs. All the while BS1 has had no hicups and complete smooth sailing.

Thank you! I’ll need to keep a close eye on this. We will see how she goes, I’m curious to see how the youngest plant (Black Sugar will turn out)

Mar 13/20: Day 33

-Time to feed! Gave them 2 mL Micro, Grow, Super B+, and Carbo Blast. 1mL bloom and 10 mL CalMag

-PPM is 1102, pH=6.2

-Miss counted Black Sugar front, she is at nodes therefore it is time to mainline!

Mar 16/20: Day 36

-Hydroton is super dry, and the roots are hardly getting through

-Also noticed some mold growing on top of rockwool as the cover is not on yet. Removed the mold, tried covering the plant with black foam…. Plant roots hardly making it through hydroton- it is very dry. Need to figure out a way to keep it moist enough to promote growth
