RaoulDuke's Practice Run - 400W+Soil+BagSeed

the ph looks in the ball park for all three. one of mine is the same way always has the low ph. If the leaf damage is not spreading then i wouldn't worry about it too much. btw what soil leach and shit tea? lol :reading420magazine:

wow that is a nice space to grow in. my 2x2x5 just inst cutting it anymore.

cant wait for more pics :tokin:

Just leaching with plain PH neutral water (skipping around in terminology too, flush, leach..).

The shit tea was Batwana Bloomer at 1/2 T, some molasses and an EJ mix. I went kinda light in the mindset that their soil has to be almost completely deprived of bacterial life and I'm just trying right now to get that established again. The next feed will probably just be molasses and water.

They all seem to be enjoying the new light and fertilizers.

Looking like a very nice shade of green and might start getting pretty frosty here soon! Little heat stress on that one plant still but no biggie :)

nice raoul your plants look good. they are looking thick on the cola tops. are they starting to swell up? what week are they now? what all are you feeding them now?
nice job on the pics too.
if your not feedin them now you can pick up some silica that will help them with the heat stress.

They've hit a point today where I'm noticing that they're really starting to pack it on. This is their fifth week. I am just departing from the fox farm line and have switched to EJ. Last feed was just molasses and water. The next feed will be their first full shot of EJ bloom and Meta K.
I think I might try some silica out. (I'd plus rep but the machine says no for some reason) That one plant has always displayed this issue with its leaves. It just doesn't seem like its that warm in there. My temps at the canopy usually don't go over 80. I've just moved the tent into a smaller area to make the ac a bit more efficient. Came home from work, all the doors were sealed, ac on low and the canopy temp was 74:) .

Day 38: Still Need A Real Camera

Plants seem happy with the EJ. All is well in the universe. Decided to take a small leaf clipping from Sativa Aye (they all have names now, btw). Here's what we got:

Here are some overexposed bud shots. I will be purchasing a new DSLR in the very near future. Not being able to control exposure, ISO and focus is driving me absolutely insane.

And now the group doin' what they do best....

To give perspective of the size of these plants the tallest cola on Sativa Aye. (front, center) measure 54" from the floor including the pot. This plant remains a 44.5" tall.

Real nice! Love checking on all the first grows. I'm on my first as well. Just stopped by to take a look n keep watch. Good job. Doesn't look like practice to me :cheesygrinsmiley:

Hey thanks man. Shame about your kush going boy, they were looking great, certainly had the monster genes.

damn raoul those colas look heavy! :) are they swaying yet? i think just one of those is gonna beat all four of mine put together. :tokin:

grow on!!

Yeah, they've all started to develop a bit of a 'gangsta lean'. I'm thinking they'll end up all tied up soon. I accidentally broke a tiny sucker branch on sative be. that i'd neglected to cut off earlier. Nice to have some smoke again, flah dried a piece, smoked pretty decent, and I cannot believe how strong it was for being only about halfway ready. She is definitely something special. I plan to try reveg her and use her as a mother.

I wouldn't sell those little girls 'short'. If you're running that 400 on them you're going to get good penetration(that's what she said) all the way to the dirt.

Day 44: Oops...

Day 30 Flower: The Upgrayyyedddd

Tomorrow we flush out the bad.(unless you guys think I should try to rectify the leaf issue otherwise?). I really hope this is a overnute issue... please don't tell me this is fungus. I made up a mild shit cocktail of 1tsp Molasses, 1/2T Big Bloom, 1T Batswana, 1/4tsp EJ Bloom, 1/4tsp EJ Meta K and a mosquito dunk (not food). We will flush and then apply the shit (not much, maybe 2 cups per plant of the tea). The tea will brew with an air pump and stone for the next 24 hrs. My PH of water from the tap is 7.8. I'll measure after the brew to see where we're at.

That's where I fucked up. Today, we're at deficiency central. It just came out of nowhere yesterday. Now that I think about it until now the girls hadn't had a good feeding since 7/31. So, valuable life lesson learned is that its probably not the greatest idea to completely switch around their food halfway into flower. Still doin' good regardless. Sativa B and C are showing heavy yellowing and purpling (surely a major phosphate and nitrogen deficiency). Sativa C is showing her acidic soil, Sativa A is still green. All of their runoff is the same as it has typically been in the past. All trichomes are still clear.

I hope my first grow is 1/2 as good as this one. Good job my man.

looks good roaul!! they are really stacking up :thumb: those flower tops look like mid-evil maces  how many more days of flower are you gonna let them go?

haha i skipped right passed this and was staring at your pics i hope all is well now. i hate seeing things go astray during flower.

thanks falcore!

I think I've got them stabilized now, but the leaves definitely look horrible. I think I'm going to feed lightly every watering until flush to keep them going. I'm shooting for 65-70days, basically going off a lowball average for sativa dominant plants. The deficiency issue was a little discouraging, but, you live and learn. I hope they can make it, all trichs are still clear.

Thanks man. Yeah, they turned out pretty ok. I surely couldn't have done it without these forums though. I'd have to say that thus far the most important thing I've learned from this grow is the necessity of consistency. Resist the urge to mess with things that don't need messed with.

That was a nice read on nutrients. Thank you for the link.

Day 57: Uggh, Why Won't These Freaking Things Finish

Sorry for the lack of updates. Things are still goin on here. Sativa A is at about 60% cloudy. The other two are at about 40%. They all were given a light feeding, this will probably be Sativa A's last. The deficiency certainly took its toll on them. They're all happy again, but they've consumed nearly all of their major fan leaves.

The buds are really starting to swell. Sativa A looks like something out of this world. Her buds are completely covered in super dense trichomes. I can't even imagine how it's going to smoke. She is certainly something special.

Here's a couple pics from today, more to come soon. Still need a real camera...

This is Sativa A. This was taken about a week ago, her top colas are noticeably bigger now:)

Hey raoul
i can see what you mean about the deficiency. are the leaves still curling? I had something like that at my last grow. from low ph.
it doesn't look like it is effecting the buds though. they look really chunky.:tokin:

Hey falcore,

Yeah, some of the leaves are still curling, but lately the lower growth has gotten really green and lush for some reason. I'm fairly certain there's an underlying soil issue at hand to accompany the nute crash. All those chemical ferts surely left some stuff sitting around that has severely compromised stability of the soil's ph. But, the mere thought of having to pull these f%cking things out of the tent and leach them is overwhelming at this point. These girls turned out well and might benefit a little, but I'm done with this grow. It has been hell. Them buds somehow just keep on swellin', thats all I'm concerned with at this point. I'm ready for round 2.
