Round 2 With Some Mystery Seeds

DAY 58 ( DAY 14 OF FLOWER)

Happy Friday everyone!

Ok... For starters "Purdy" is doing awesome 😎 noticable daily growth, healthy green leaves, furry tops, and slow flower stretch. I haven't had to move anything or do any further repositioning, so I think I finally have her on the right track. Now that we're in stretch Ill have to watch her height a little bit, but I still have about 12"-14" above before I'm maxed out.... So we will see how the next couple of weeks go. Over all very happy for a mystery seeds 😁

Alright onto the minor upgrades:

New light: non-sponsor led claims "600w" equivalent... I'm skeptical.... But it is brighter then my Blurple.... So for the price I'ma give it a true go.... Eventually would like a good name brand but that'll come in the future.

Humidifier: RoseKM 2L fogging humidifier. This thing is bad ass, produces a lot of humidity and quickly at that... First night with it I figured I could leave it on after lights off.....well 😬... It's a no no 😂. I checked the tent less than one hour after lights off and I was greeted with a tent so dense with fog I couldn't see in it... And the whole plant was wet... So now it'll only be used while lights on. But like I said this is an awesome little unit.

New soil and supplements:
* Two bags of Fox Farms Ocean Forest (26L).
* 2 QT bag of perlite.
* Lotus cal-mag
* Bag of "Miracle Grow" bone meal (I usually stay away from m.g but I figured this couldn't be bad....right?! 😅).
* 3.5 OZ bag of @DYNOMYCO mycorrhizal .... This has shown to help the roots on a lot of growers plants here... So Im choosing to see for myself. 😁
* 500ml bottle of Big Bud bud booster.... I've heard good things about this stuff so this is another "give it a go item" .

Other than the new exhaust fan I grabbed a few small items such as a small secondary oscillating fan, a set of digital thermometer/hygrometers, and the last thing being added to the tent are liquid gnat traps...I'm kinda struggling with them 😩..... I've removed top inch of soil and treated the rest with the same 209 solution from @Sierra Natural Science...and have since sprinkled cinnamon on the surface to deter adults from landing and laying more eggs.

But tomorrow is a feed day of 1/3+ cup of @GeoFlora Nutrients Bloom and a watering day......so once that stops running off I'll do a thorough cleaning using salt and water with a little alcohol in it as final wipe as I normally do when I clean the space.

And then last thing up is photos... Thanks for stopping by and have a dope week end all :headbanger:

Thanks med, I got this feeling also during the fogging lol.... But I put that baby on the timer as well which also has my exhaust fan on it.... So it won't be ran without proper ventilation.

Day 61, Day 17 flower.

Happy Monday all, hope everyone's week is off to a good start. Not to much going on to report on so this will be short and sweet.

• Good stretch going for 2nd week of flower.
• Multiple new bud sites forming everywhere.
• New hygrometer/thermometer's are working well. 73f - 75f / 22c - 23c with humidity staying around %40
• fruit fly bait traps added with "attractive apple shape" 🍎...😂.... I'm on the start of the second week of 209 mix.... I've tried a bunch of natural remedies additionally.... No Go..... So bait traps to try to lesson the #'s. This is my fault for using used soil without treatment... Lesson indefinitely learned ....
• Watered with 209 to runoff.
• Grow space cleaned.
• Photos taken.
•"Purdy" rotated, talked too, and smoked with.

Other than some photos that's about it. Have a good night and thanks for stopping in.:headbanger:

DAY 62 DAY 19 OF FLOWER.

Alright so I have a hermie plant....le sighhhhhh... Lol.... But I am not detoured yet... After about an hour I have gone node to node and have removed any individual "flowers" along with a couple small shoots that had a flower amongst the pistils. Mainly on the lowest shoots I'm seeing this 🤔.... So now my question why? And is it possible to cherry pick then daily and not have an entire ruined grow? I plan from today moving forward giving it a valiant effort at checking it over thoroughly everyday and removing the parts as they are spotted. Any help or advice will be appreciated 🙏🏼. ... But as far as how it's growing and all.... I'm fairly happy with it... Daily bud growth and a good stretch.....and is starting to get a smell 🤤.

All in all I just need to know if it's worth it to put the time and effort to heavily search the plant and remove these? Any male or half male I have grown to date I've just removed and destroyed...no chance at further life...or chance at ruining females near by.

Ok ok enough talk about it.... Here's some photos of things removed. Photo on paper towel is everything I could find on it today. The others are just confusing close ups of male parts with pistils protruding 😑.

The plant is Purdy, I'd say just cut off it's balls and hope nothing nanners? 🍌✂️🧐
Yea that's what I think the game plan for right now is.... If I start to see a bunch of "oddities" I'll scrap it.

I was considering removing all small under growth so that there is only the big bud sites to worry about/monitor..... And thought on that?

I think your good. You could try to foliar spray at lights out to wash any pollen away. I would just run it. You could clip anything lower, I feel that's would be what case scenario.

But I like weird shit.

Yup I've decided to go through and cut anything smaller than a dime, anything under anything, and a few mixed size fans to open things up so that I can clearly see everything.

Do you have a foliar spray you would recommend?

And I sprayed the crap out of the plant with distilled water before I started removing anything.and moved lights up a bit to prevent burning.

Spraying it did the job of washing her down. Your plants will be fine! You got this!

Last night before lights out... I cleaned her up... Basically lolipoped it removed anything small below main canopy... I know this can and most definitely will cause the plant to stress which causes some plants to hermie..but figure can't be more hermier..🤔... Can that happen ? 😂......but anyways I figure since this is going down a road I didn't want but half expected.... I would lessin the burden of a hour or two having to look over the tiniest of bud spots. Now I am left with only the mains and anything that is easy to check. I will continue to do daily checks from here on out, and I will also still be giving her the attention it deserves until proven to be a lost cause.

Hiiiii Happyyyyyyy!!! Pulling up my chair, hope you kept it warm with a seedling heat mat for my hiney. Lol. She is a beautiful girl you have there. Excited to see what she looks like post clean up!

Thanks krissi 😁 I'll take some photos today when I am home.... I didn't get to crazy but definitely took off a handful of tiny growths.

And of course I kept the seat warm for ya 😊 I wouldn't say it was from the heat mat though 😅😜

I love cleaning them up, i feel like they thank you later that day or the next and look extra pretty.

As for the chair....Even if it just had a freshly dried towel laying on it for a minute-I'm good with that! Hell, I'm good with just being here on a cold wet, rained on chair, too.

DAY 63 DAY 20 OF FLOWER.

Hi all just a brief update on PURDY. I spent a little time last night before lights out I sprayed the plant down and got to work lollipopping her and removing tightly grouped , small, or odd growths to make my monitoring easier. Then lights out. Fast forward to this afternoon again another check over. Today I found a double cluster of "flowers" *sprayed well and cut off*, two tiny questionable growths *sprayed and removed*, and finally a couple fans that were crowding to closely. Despite the male parts randomly on her she is really going great and loving up to the name "PURDY". But that's about it for now, thanks for stopping and have a dope night. :headbanger:

DAY 65, DAY 22 OF FLOWER.

Has been a bit more than a day since last update and it's nothing but good news 🙂.

So for starters I've just about handled the frustrating gnat problem. She is on week 2.5 - 3 of @Sierra Natural Science pest control "209" mix which seems to have helped....along with my gnat baits away from the plant and..... I know this is going to sound crazy, but daily torching..... Yes I literally mean using my dab torch and literally scorching the top surface of the soil....not to the point of a fire but enough to kill anything moving on top. I'm seeing the heat brings the non flyers (larvae) up to the surface of the soil, which allows for immediate execution☠️ of the new gnats, and additionally the fire takes out the flyers on the surface and I'm thinking is destroying the eggs that are shallow on the top.... I'm not going to recommend going at your grow space with a torch or flamethrower.....as much as some of want to at points 😂🔥🔥🔥... But this helped me...and helped very quickly. And for those who are going to say this is not safe in a confined space.... I have water and fire extinguisher on hand when ever I have done this.. so no worries happy practices safety in here 😁. And now that that is taken care of ( 👈🏼 just realized how weird that statement looks with the double "that that" 😂) I can focus on the daily check over.

So again great news 🥳🥳, the male parts have presumably stopped growing.... At least from what I am seeing. Yesterday and today when I have checked PURDY over, I have not had to cut anything or second guess a spot.... Its all female and she is bulking up quite nicely. Which now makes me curious as to if this is a one off situation where it just got wonky from a light left on one time.... or if this was truly a hermie bag seed 🤔. Additionally I'm curious about if this would work Everytime? Like if I grew group of monoecious (dual sexed or known hermie genetics) could I in theory repeat this process of swiftly removing any male parts that grow daily and basically have the plant level out and remain female for the remaining duration of the flowering cycle? And is that even a thing for a plant to realize the male parts are being removed and essentially decide to stop producing them?🤔....not sure but it has sparked my interest.

Onto PURDY's over all report, the leaves are a little dark which I know is tad high on nitrogen... But the leaves and growth are very healthy with no burnt tips, yellowing, or any other damage present..... So I will not be trying to correct this. All bud zones are getting the first sugar leaves and are producing trichomes well😁. The nodes have great swelling which is a sign that the plant is doing well under the soil and is able to carry plenty of nutrients and water throughout the plant. She is starting to get a bit of a sweet musk smell and tongue ching the leaves also leaves a very sweet aroma on the fingers.... I'm excited to see how she matures..... Over all happy plant dad here 😬.

Conditions in tent are great 40% humidity with 72-73f / 22c. @ViparSpectra light is at 75% giving by the top canopy about 6-700 across the board. And all equipment is working lol sometimes I get nervous something is gonna mess up.....you know Murphy's Law.... 😑....lol shit happens for no reason 😂.

That about wraps things up here today. Thanks for stopping and as always have a dope day :headbanger:

DAY 67, DAY 22 OF FLOWER.

Good afternoon! Hope everyone is having a good start to the week, I had a decent day 😁... Let's try to keep the week in this mood.

And now moving over to Purdy... After a check over I am relieved and happy. There are no worries in the growth and I do not see any new areas that are blatant male or weird/questionable. All I'm seeing is swelling bud zones and trichome production :yahoo:....and a quicker stretch lol. Other than that she was fed 1/3 cup of @GeoFlora Nutrients bloom and watered with "209" solution from @Sierra Natural Science to run off.

Thanks for stopping and have a dope night everyone ✌🏼:headbanger:

DAY 69 DAY 24 OF FLOWER.

Short and sweet today... All is good in Purdy's world, just another day trich-ing up and loving life. Basically the same as before just a little bigger. She is swelling nice, gaining smell, bulking. No more pest...and no weird leaf issues to report.......All that's left is photos .

Have a dope night everyone :headbanger: .
