Yeah, I've got a portable ac, they are super loud and the exhaust on them is only 4 foot useless long or so. The Windows in my bedroom start at 3.5 foot high so I have to put this massive thing up on a set of drawers. You're not allowed to extend the exhaust or it messes with the efficiency or something useless.

Yeah bud, I have lights off at 3pm then back on 9pm, that's my hot period of the day. Doesn't really fit family sleeping time though.

Back at the ranch..
Sylstar/WeedSeedExpress babes taking a rough ride in their stride.. it’s day 2. Looking ok for all the temp craziness at the min.. I managed to get the temps down after running the AC for an hour, from 35c to what you see below.
I usually love the sunny days, turns out I like growing in the loft a bit more, an I wish the sun would f**k right off.

Got a bit of a stretch starting hope she’s not 3” in the morning I’ll have to get myself a splint and as anything goes, it could be fun

It is Day 4 for the SYLSTAR-GL 4000 and the WeedSeedExpress grow.
Today they’ve got a new home.

Ok.. how did I get here?
Firstly I prepared my plastic cups by labelling the soon to be outside layer..this 2 part wonder I’ve picked up reading journals along the way here at 420. First time I going to use it though.
For the inside cup, I’ve made 2splits about 20mm apart down one side and removed that section. With just a straight split from rim to base down the opposite side.
I’ve left the white rim intact on this side and if I need to cut it at the next transplant I will.
I’ve cut little slits with the scissors all around the base of both cups for drainage

Next job… fill them up.
I’m sticking with Bill284’s magic mix, using coir, bokashi, perlite and frass.

Layering as I fill the cup..
On the bottom we have a layer of perlite, sprinkled with a bit of bokashi and frass, you’ll need to wet it at this point to get it activated, you will also have to do this on the next layers. Then it’s the coir , repeat till full enough to sit the root cube on top so you can fill in the sides.

I stopped using the cal mag for a bit as there’s some in the nutes. However, this girl has looked like she’s been on the town for a week since she was a young’n, and still looks rough. Can’t hurt too much to pop a bit in now.

Here’s the lux and setting about 50%
ive made 2 readings as I wasn’t sure about the meter I’ve got. But seems similar to the phone one.. they could both be wrong

not a very good pick of the dial coz I put the light in with the dial facing a wall. Fm.
Now .. I haven’t been singin’ an Dancin’ about the light as I don’t know it’s potential yet.. it’s in amongst some good company.. but so far it doing a nice job.
As you ramp the light up, it seems to go from reasonable intensity, low if my readings are correct,, at 50% power. To a sudden off the feckin charts
70000+lux at the max.
Stays quite cool up until the 70% point then after that you could fry your eggs on it. it gets HOT,hot,hot. What does yours read on the laser temp mate?
I’m about 20 inch or so away from the top of the plants

I’ve been looking for the Do’s auto strain that I got as a freebie off anesia seeds when I ordered Bbm and triple cheese autos. Which was very kind and jolly nice of them I have to say.
after a little look around on their site, I discovered that they don’t even do this strain and they appear to of came from another seed company..
Neither seed breeder does an auto Do-Si-do though? They do however have a photo version. I’m gonna hang on and hope they flip, otherwise.. they’re gonna be pretty feckin big by the time the BbM finish up.

The heat is a prob aaaagh.. big fecking headache of a prob… I’m amazed anything still alive up here, prob fecked the overall yield some how, but everything seems to have coped so far.. even the seedlings have been sitting in 35c at times.
The new Ac helps. But not all day long.

Hi mate. I've never checked how hot she gets with the thermo gun. I will do that tomorrow and let you know.
your lux reading; that would scare the pants off me being that high. I was going off some readily available info on tinterweb , saying seedling need between 4000 and 7000. I made the mistake of going to the lower end of that scale as I wasnt confident the meter was accurate..
. I'm eager to see how your plants do at that level of intensity, just so I don't mess up again.. it's got my head battered
