To cure trimmings or not?

Well I just finished my first harvest and the buds are drying now in beer flats. Pre drying I have well over 300 grams of wet bud. Now I saved all my clipping and have 3 mason jars full. Gonna do a quick iso bath and collect my oil that way. I know it's not the cleanest but for me it's the quickest and simplest method that I know(always open to better ideas). I am just curious if one should dry/cure the trimmings first. I have the iso and the trimmings in the freezer but I never dried the leaves. The quick bath just strips the trichomes off so I am not sure if that needs drying.
Thanks and happy smoking

Hi Backwoods Bob....I would cure the trimmings cause no matter what you do, your going to have plant matter in your end product unless making distillates. You could go the route of making bubble bag hash with all your trimmings, Its cleaner way of getting all those trichcomes, plus you can make edibles. Also there is the option of rosin pressing that's another pure extraction method that a lot of people have turned to using instead of using chemicals to extract. :)

i huck all my trim in to a paper bag and toss it in the fridge crispser. i let the bag sit out of the fridge for a day or two before. if i remember i'll give it an occasional stir. when it's dried a bit i dump it into a big freezer baggie that lives in the crispser as well. stays there until i think of a reason to play with it. should really get a hash box.

it's a bit like the low and slow fridge drying method. i never knew it was a thing til i saw it here. just what i've always done. :)

Did you have to harvest early because of a hard freeze warning?

I had 2 plants that were ready to go. I have been running a little propane heater in my greenhouse and so far it has kept it above freezing. Was -11 celsius here last night and the greenhouse went down to 4 celsius. I have 2p plants that are getting so close. If I can ward off frost for a few more days it warms up and I am golden. I just need 2 or 3 days.

That looks to easy. I might just have to give it a try tonight. Gonna get down to minus 12 again. Thank you very much.
I would wait till the -30 c dry cold it makes the trichomes more brittle
but if you got lots give it a try & lets use know

Are those pictures of leaves or flowers? Trichomes on the leaves turn first, and shouldn't be used as an indicator.
Those are leaves. Took the pictures pre trim and they were leafy. I have some good ones of trimmed up nugs here.

Feels like that out there right now but I will wait. I have lots and more to come so I will do a small iso batch for some shatter. I enjoy a little dab at the end of the day. Gets me sleepy.
