Volksball's First Grow: White Widow Feminized Grow Journal 2018

7-10 days of that, then trim off leaves to the buds, jar 1.5oz in each with 62% humidi-packs and burp three times a day for 2 weeks.
I don't use the humidity packs until the jars are sealed for the cure. I use burping to adjust the humidity in the jars. If the ambient RH is lower than 62%, burp them down over time (I burp for 2 weeks before closing them up for curing). If it's higher, you can either use rice balls (in my sig) or a small dehuey in a cardboard box to get the jars down.

If you jar them too high they will mold before the humidity packs will take the RH down. RH packs are designed for long term storage, not to quickly lower the humidity to prevent mold.

Ok gotcha. Thanks. Is 1.5oz too much for a 1L jar?

As well, I thought once they're jarred, they'd be in stored in a dark place in my house, where the ambient is likely 40ish% which is far below 62%. So, by what you've said, I burp the 3x/day for 2 weeks in my home environment, then seal them up for a period of time with 62% packs for however long...

This all happens after bagging, of course. Still have to figure that one out... ha.

I'm not sure about paper bags in a 40% RH environment though. The bags exchange moisture and the buds may dry too quickly. I'd jar them up at 68% and burp them down to 62%.

For the burping stage I'd go with 3/4 full on the jars. No idea what that looks like in terms of oz/L! Roll the jars to loosen the buds before you burp each time so they don't stick together.

Hey guys, quick question: is it normal that the house should stink less than it has nearing the end of the grow? I had to hold off on the Sunday harvest because I hadn't seen enough foggy trichomes yet. I'm worried that I might be missing something.

Thx.

It has begun....

...one girl down.

If someone can please have a look and let me know if I've got this sorting thing in place, that would be great.

The tray has the popcorn. I've separated a couple off to the side to show size of that pile.

The bowls hold the not quite hanging size, but good density. Samples off to the side.

And the hangables.

Thanks guys. On to girl #2.

Done for the evening. Its 2:20am. 6 hours later...

Plant #1- 461g cut/728g hung
Plant #2 - 606g cut/442g hung
Plant #3 - 463g cut/808g hung

Popcorn- 706

I read somewhere that I'll likely get 1/3 of my total weight in the end. Maybe less, depending on the ones that don't make the cut..

It seems like alot to me and likely because I kept alot, ie. Popcorn. I may not even exaxtly know wht popcorn is, but I kept it. What I classified as popcorn are the smaller buds at the bottom of branches that got little light, are a bit pale but sticky nonetheless. There was alot of that. I'm sure I'll learn in a few days what should have been tossed. I just kept thinking that it would have been good for edibles. We'll see...

While it may be seen as sacrelig, I had to lay the branches meant to be hung, on the tent floor until tomorrow when I get some clothes pins. Yep, I forgot. The tent was cleaned out thoroughly, though not disinfected. They should be ok for 12 hours, I'd think. No? The thought of twining that many branches to hangers at 2am seemed awful.

Currently trying to regulate humidity with a humidifier. All fans are off along with the air exchange/carbon filter.

Have a look! Thanks everyone.

I need sleep.

They're off the floor....

No one will call them the fattest or most menacing buds, and even a couple got rusty, but they're pretty darn cool.

Day 156.

So what's next?

Ha. The summer! My wife and I do quite a bit of travel/cottaging in the summer, so I just wouldnt be able to put in the necessary time to improve on what I've learned. I think it'll largely be an annual late fall-winter project like this one was.

But, there'll definitely be a next.. I've got six months to figure that out.

Was thinking to go organic. I like the idea of fewer synthetics. It's also something new to learn. As for strain, we shall see what tickles the fancy.

Hey guys..

Coming up to day 7 of the cure tomorrow. Things are looking great in the tent.

Been trying to find the final word Boveda 62%, 8 gram and the Integra Boost equivalent. Some say Boveda steal flavor and don't last as long as the competition. Others say the Integra Boost doesn't get to RH as fast and dont stay steady.

And here's the big question: 62 or 58?

Thoughts?

Thx.
