420 Magazine's Mushroom Grow Diary of the Year Contest 2023

This contest celebrates the year end best of the best Mushroom Grow Diaries on 420 Magazine as nominated and voted by the 420 Magazine staff and community. Each of these diaries were chosen because they stood out from the rest by providing outstanding content. Now we get to narrow it down to one, which one will it be?

Polls are now open! Voting closes at midnight, PST on January 31st.

We know it's going to be a hard decision to make, so we ask that everyone please consider the following factors when voting on this contest:
  • Frequent Activity & Updates - Diary should be regularly maintained and updated
  • Attention To Detail - Diary should discuss growing methods and techniques in detail
  • Quality Photography - Pictures should be clear and of good quality
  • Proper Grammar & Structure - Diary should be well-written and easy to understand
  • General Forum Conduct - Diary and author should adhere to published forum guidelines
  • Stays On Topic - Diary should be focused on Mushroom cultivation
  • Responds To Questions - Members posting questions receive clear and thoughtful responses
  • Explains Well & Offers Advice - Diary is a good environment for new growers to learn
  • Promotes our Sponsors - Diary should feature or recommend our Sponsors' products whenever possible
Many thanks to our Sponsors for donating these amazing prizes, we are beyond grateful for your generosity.

Contest Guidelines:

1. Members must have at least 50 posts to be entitled to vote.

2. Promotion (i.e. campaigning) for yourself or a friend, or any attempt at voting more than one time per person (i.e. multiple user names, etc.) is considered cheating and is prohibited. Promotion also includes family and friends who register a new account for voting purposes. Campaigning in any form - including but not limited to mentioning the entry in any thread outside the contest, a signature link to the entry and campaigning via PMs - will result in the entry being removed from the month's contest. A second instance, either in a different contest during the same month or in any future contest, will attract a lifetime ban from all future contests.

Contests Are Legitimate: Now that votes are publicly visible, it should be obvious who is voting. We have endless ways of discovering cheating and are always successful. If you are caught cheating, your entry will be deleted and you'll be called out in the public thread, visible to everyone. Reason being that in the past, when we removed the offending entry without any announcement (to help minimize embarrassment for the member), it often led to uninformed (or worse, misinformed) members questioning our motives and calling us censorship nazi's. More often than not, the cheater themselves would claim innocence, causing a higher workload for our staff. For these reasons, we now alert the community of what happened, to save all the confusion and massive workload on our team.

The tie has been broken!

🍄:adore: A HUGE congratulations to our 2023 Mushroom Grow Diary of the Year winner! :adore:🍄

Thank you for stopping by and your kind words @Ramblinrose1965

I am not sure what to say, but I am flabbergasted to find out I won. The couple times I looked @CaptainLucky was in the lead, so I just figured he would win.

I want to thank all of our sponsors that support these contests and 420 as a whole. Thank you @420 and staff, @Midwest Grow Kits , @Spore Genetics , @Foods Alive @SeedsMan and last but far from the least @Remo Nutrients thanks again for supporting 420 Magazine.

I also want to thank everyone that voted in this annual contest, but especially the member that I was deserving of this recognition. Thank you, in no particular order @Hash Hound , @Lady Cannafan , @JohnnieJC3 , @Sparkey224 , @Preston9mm @Dankman_420 , @Joe Brewster , @Justin Goody , @Twist Me Up , @Absorber , and of course @Slapalottapuss

Stay safe and grow well my friends,
Tok..

Congratulations @Tokin Roll (I'm a little late with this)
It was a close close close one. Both of you have very informative and updated journals.
Tough call, but for me, it came down to the excellent how-to/pictorials you did on inoculating and such.

Thank you for your kind works @Ramblinrose1965 and @KingJohnC

It is a total surprise to me, I thought CaptainLucky was going to win.

I do like the selection of spore that @Spore Genetics donated for the winner and @SeedsMan throwing in some genetic for a prize is really cool.

My day is finally back to normal, for what normal is.

Today my wife and I were on an emotional roller coaster this morning. The hospital call and said they have a perfect match for my wife's transplant and ask how soon we could get to the hospital, I told them in one hour. We rushed to get everything together and just as we were leaving for the hospital the phone ring. The hospital called back and said the transplant was cancelled, because there was to much of a chance of infection from the donor. So, now we wait again.
At least we know they didn't forget about her.

Never a break or dull moment and you wonder why I smoke.

I'm sorry to hear about another delay Tok, but it sounds like they are definitely keeping an eye on the missus and being extra careful. :goodluck:
