In this diary we can discuss all methods and equipment used to grow our mushrooms. Please feel free to post your photos and explain your methods here, and ask questions. It is welcome to all shroom fans and cultivators!

I will start this diary with a photo of the mycelium progress in wild birdseed using my own Liquid Culture from Blue Meanie Cubensis and Tidal Wave. The liquid culture was made from mycelium on my agar, and that was made from my spore prints.

I also have two bags of Uncle Ben's rice that I inoculated with my Liquid Culture about a week ago. They appear to be growing mycelium. I will wait another week and look, then grab a pic if they look good.

Thank you! I am encouraged based on todays' viewing of them. Fingers crossed
Last month, or the month before....I tried regular brown rice and processed similar to the birdseed. It did not work, I only got cobweb mold in it and it smelled damn stinky!
Snagging a couple Uncle Bens' was sheer luck, my local grocer is always out of it!
I posted a video of how I did the inoculation of the UB bags on the other thread. I will copy it here in case you want to give it a view. I followed it step by step.

I'm looking into those, and the Co2 controllers. I looked around for mine, and now I realize I sold that a couple years ago.

I've never had them, I remember camping up the high country near some pine trees and seeing these ones and thinking i was imagining shit ,I thought they were just a cartoon but to see them in the wild was freaking crazy .

It's always a comfort to see you post something, it lets us know you haven't fallen from a tree and broken your bones trying to tend to a plant.

I fell out of a doozy as a 13 year old i would have been about 60ft up a pine tree and the rotten branch gave way and I bounced of every branch on the way down and knocked myself clean out .
And no it wasn't a stealth grow

UPDATE: 2-2-24

Here's one of the Uncle Ben's rice bags today. Good mycelium coverage going on. The second bag is coming along a bit slower, could be where I inoculated was in a different area of the rice.

And no it wasn't a stealth grow

I have hunted all of my life and spent many many hours in trees....waaaay up there. It only took one slip off a tree stand and a few stitches to tell me to wear that safety belt every. single. time. Some days we just don't realize how lucky we are.

If anyone hasn't checked out Absorbers' stealth grow, check his siggy. It's entertaining for sure.

I did a shake and break on all of the birdseed spawn jars this morning. The mycelium had covered it.

Now, when it is suggested to you to only fill your jars about 3/4 full with the grain spawn.....let me assure you it will make your life a whole lot easier when you do the shake and break.
I filled two of them too full and it took forever to get that stuff broke up.

I just ate a 2g mushie from this beautiful bag of happiness right here. Not sure the strain, but I did reach out to him and ask. When he responds I'll lyk.

P. S. I did not eat that monster of a shrooms, I had a smaller one to test potency. Pic is just mushie porn.
