Mystery Grow

Okay, so right out the front, I did not start these from seed. I got them from a friend when they were an unknown age. I'm told they're autos, so I got them on an 18-6 cycle like the guy I got them from had them on. Medium is the same as what I got them in it's a coco mix. I'm using orchid bloom for nutes. For light, I'm using Mars Hydro MH300-100LED. I got these two gals and a couple of baby tomatoes in a tent outside. Temperatures lately have been between 30 and 70 here in South Florida.

They look nice! Orchid bloom may be a good idea, it is usually pretty mild. I used to grow many kinds of orchids and the mantra for watering and fertilizing is “Weekly and weakly”. Now with a coco hybrid soil you water more frequently with nutes every time. Great work, keep it up.

I was a little unsure about how often, but since it doesn't seem to hold much water, I've been giving each one about half a liter a day

Good morning @AscendedMasterKief hope you are well my friend.
Coco requires being fed every day full nutrients at 5.8 ph.
No plain water.
Being an auto your missing out on growing time.
20/4 is more common for auto growers. :Namaste:
Keep up the good work.

Stay safe
Bill

Thanks, Bill. I'm gonna try that. Gotta find me a pH thingamabob

I've been feeding them on the daily. They seem to be doing good but I do notice some discoloration on the leaves. I hate to say it but I haven't gotten a pH thingamabob yet. I think I'm just going to order one online today.

I've got a moisture meter light meter pH meter tds meter coming from Amazon. Fed and watered the girls this morning. Some of the fans are looking rough I'm not too worried but should I be?

Also I think I have an easier time now that I have a smartphone, to keep a journal updated. Back when I first joined I did not have a smartphone I had a point and click that was a piece of crap, and I had a desktop computer that only half-assed imported photos from the camera LOL

That’s the tds I got. Works great.

Use it like the thinnest light bulb you’ve ever carried. It’s not water proof, not even water resistant. DO NOT GET WATER ABOVE THE LINE for reading.
Also. Do not turn on until you use it and turn off RIGHT AWAY or you’ll be re calibrating every use.

Works great. But iv burned thru 2 ppm, ec testers. The expensive ones are so much worth it. Just hurts the pocket.

I just scoped out the trichomes on the elder of the two girls and they're getting nice and milky colored. Won't be long now, maybe couple of weeks? The bottom half of the plan is still blooming and small and growing new calyxes. After touching the top bud so I could take a look at it with my jewelers loupe, my fingers smell like fruity pebbles.

Hey good friend ya got there to give ya some started ladies. But all looks good great job so far. By chance do you know the strain/s?
Thank you! I do not know the strains of these girls, but the one the older one is smelling fruity.

Thank you for the tips on that

I checked out the girls again today and the older plant has I'm guessing about 5% brownish trichomes.

I switched out to a KingLED GW-KNGS60 I got from a friend because it has more power. I'm going to keep the Mars hydro of course and use it as supplemental when I get moved and start up a big grow room.

So, now I have four grow lights. To think, when I first started growing I was trying to grow in a skylight and playing around with compact fluorescents in a jury-rigged refrigerator shelf wire rack. And to think that was so many years ago too. My, how the time has flown by.

Took me a sec
Must be a time machine.
Hope your having a good day my friend @AscendedMasterKief

I am Bill, thank you, and I hope you are having a good day too! I'm smoking on some gorilla Glue. This all rhymes but it's not a haiku

I switched lights back out to the Mars hydro mh300. The other one burnt the fan leaves after generating so much heat and I don't really have good ventilation yet. I still haven't gotten my testing kit from Amazon yet but it should arrive in the next couple days. Again this morning I checked the older girl, and she's got about 10% Amber trichomes. She still has a lot of clear ones too. Most are milky white.
