420 Member Titles: Help Us Create New Titles

Below are the current titles that go under each member name.

The titles change as the member advances up the ladder.

New Member: 0 Posts
Member: 5 Posts
Active Member: 25 Posts
Well-Known Member: 45 Posts

We thought it would be fun to expand on these by updating them to 420 related titles and adding more of them.

For example...

420 Member: 10 Posts

Cannabis Connoisseur: 420 Posts

I think it is a great idea, but I'd be very wary of any scale that implies 'better than you', so maybe base it on number of posts/likes to encourage newer followers

Very good point, we have enough separation in the community as it is, we want these names to bring us together. Great choices so far, please keep them coming

I've been racking my brain on this on and off for years, so don't feel bad.

I do think you have at least one winner here though!

We've considered names like sprout and seedling, but they always end up with red flags.

Not everyone wants to be called something like that, especially if they just joined but have been growing for 30 years.

Also, terms like growing don't work for everyone, because not every single member grows.

Names like champ we feel are more for winners of competitions.

I do like Chronic Contributor though, nice one!

There are so many reasons why a name doesn't fit universally for everyone in each category.

For these reasons, I have never altered it, however am always up for trying again.

This is the main reason I brought it to you all, to get more ideas.

My rough draft shortlist so far, nothing is set in stone.

New Member: 0-50
420 Member: 50-100
Active Member: 100-250
Well-Known Member: 250-500
Established Member: 500-1000
Chronic Contributor: 1000-5000

Maybe we can consider custom title requests for those reaching a certain plateau of say 5000 or 10000 posts?

But on the badges, wouldn't the tree "icon" indicate "plant of the month" and the cannabis leaf indicates "nug of the month".

You might consider adding a specialty tag next to badge/title.
Expert(soil)
Expert(hydro)
Expert(SIP)

I consider myself experienced with hydro but a newbie with soil.

Maybe mentoring category. Lots have knowledge but some are a little more skilled at aiding others.
This might be the pinnacle badge to attain. Something that time and history will show. Example: @Bill284

I'm not a fan of the flowery titles for members (sprout, etc) as those things have always struck me as, let's say, "whimsical," and not inkeeping with the serious approach we take towards this topic as expressed in the Mission Statement.

I don't have any better suggestions than those already put forth.

What about Outdoor growing Vs Gorilla Grow. Growing on your patio/backyard is way different than growing out in the wilds. I have had conflicts with members concerning the different styles.
