Total noob, but well reasearched :thumb:

My cabinet is 2ft x 2ft x 4t.. It has been made out of recycled materials.

Major stealthy was my key consideration on this grow.

My strains are Autoseeds #1 and Delicous seeds LA Diva.

My grow medium is a homemade soil mix... It is approximately
80 % potting compost with added perlite, 10% sharp sand and 10% bone meal.

My ferts will be supplied by water changes in my 4ft tropical aquarium
and organic chicken manure pellets.. Later on in the grow i will add a light
Ash dressing from fire embers..

I started the Auto #1 direct in soil mix., after flushing the mix with
Water.. It sprouted 2 days later and is growing well.

The La diva was germd under moist loo roll, between 2 plates.
I placed the plates on top of my nursery aquarium lid to keep warm.
Within 24 hours it had sprouted a healthy tap root and was
Gently planted into the soil. It was then covered up to stop light ingress getting to the seed.
i then placed it in the cupboard to keep warm and kick out its leaves.

I kept the 200w cfl dual spectrum bulb approx 3 inches away from the seedlings.
This done to minimize stretch and keep plants drowned in light..

At this height there was no burning of my hand after 30 secs, so decided it too be
safe for the seedlings.

It is now 5 days since auto#1 sprouted.. She is approx 3 inches high, the 2nd set of true leaves
are on their way out. I have given her a very light water, not directly to the root area, but around it.

No ferts at all in the water..

Both plants are in 5 litre pots, with multiple drainage holes at the base.

I am running the lights on a 20/4 schedule. I have a 4" fan
Mounted at the top left of the cabinet.. This draws the air / heat out
Nicely..

Hey buddy! Sounds like you are off to a really good start there. Really like the idea of using things around the home to grow the plants. Ash from the fire is a great idea! I use ash from my wood burner on the veggie patch, never thought of using it indoors.

Sounds like your little ones are happy in their home.

Will you be uploading any pictures to your journal?

+reps for a great start! :Namaste:

I use ash on veggie patch too !!!... Thats why i thought i would use it in this grow too, it should help the girls.

The ash should do fine. Generally, wood ash contains potash, phosphate and trace amounts of micro-nutrients such as iron, manganese, boron, copper and zinc. No nitrogen, so you may have to supplement unless the soil contains some. Also, keep an eye on your pH as wood ash can be rather alkaline.

Hey, Budworshipper! :ciao:

Welcome to the forums! I'd love to follow along with your grow. Looking like a great start so far.

I wish I could help you with the picture problem, but I just click the little camera icon and click on the photo in my gallery and it works... I'd be lost too if that didn't work. :hmmmm:

Hi too all followers..

Update- day 7...

The auto #1 is going great guns..3rd set of leaves is saying hello.
Still no nutes added, will give a light water tommorow after checking
the soil..

The LA Diva has now kicked it out is seed leaves., now uncovered
and basking in light.. This seed proved to be a bit of a bugger.. It kept
Pushing itself clear of the soil.. I didnt push it back down for fear of damaging
the delicate tap root. Instead i gently piled up surrounding soil to cover it up.

Just to clarify, the LA Diva was germed after the original tenant of the pot didnt work.. Purple ryder didnt germ.

There is no sign of nute burn, so my mix must be cool and not too " hot ".

so all in i am majorly happy with my first week of my first ever indoor grow.
The cabinet has proved more than good enough, but i think i will invest in some
more lighting in the future.. We shall see..

Thanks for all your help fellow gardners
