Day 53 - Day 11 Flower

Day 49: noticing pistil devlopment, 3/4gal. nutrient solution each(Kush's given both FN Grow and Bloom to green them up)

Day 52: I have ventilation! I've added a 165cfm inline fan with a speed controller. Humidity is driving me nuts. I'm at 58-61%RH with the fan exhausting air at medium speed. I ordered a carbon filter and it should be here sometime next week from Amazon. I might have to get a dehumidifier too soon.
Growing is getting expensive. It would probably be cheaper to buy the weed instead...
It's an initial investment. I've got to keep reminding myself. (I dont sell. I'm just looking save money on my own medicine.)

Price breakdown of my exhaust system:
4" 165cfm "Stealth" fan - $90
Speed controller - $25
Filter - $51.90 tax and shipping incl.
Everything brand new.

When I bought my fan and controller the guy didn't have change so i got them together for $110. He's a well-known Ebay seller who just happened to have his warehouse close by. So yeah, this is a local-only deal.
The filter was $56 on Amazon but I had a $10 coupon to bring it down to $51.90 tax and shipping incl.
A total of $161.90(Canadian Dollars) for my whole exhaust system(I already had ducting, clamps and tape.) Most fans and filters sell separately for that price alone. I'm pretty happy about this because I'm a cheap ass.

Hey lifted nice score with the exhaust setup! Im still following along mate 60% humidity is pretty good i thaught.. i see mine fluctuate alot 60-80% regularly, i have to be carefull late in flower . I make sure there is minimal water left in drip trays and keep alot of air movement around the girls also ive thaught of adding a few desiccant moisture absorber's around them to help.. i no its not really a solution but dehumidifier's are expensive and chew alot of power i think it was weaselcracker that had a thread talking about them on here

You're right. Dehumidifiers are a waste of time and money for me. I never considered the added heat and electrical costs. I'm now considering a calcium chloride bucket drip system. I googled "diy dehumidifier" and came up with some great ideas.

Day 61 - Day 19 Flower

Day 15: noticing trichomes developing on all plants. 3/4gal. nutrient solution

I defoliated the bottom 1/3 of each plant. I kept whatever buds looked like they were getting adequate light.
I've got a nice handle on my humidity now. I was exhausting my air near the window and not directly out the window. I've since corrected that. Huge difference.
High: 59%RH Night(Lights off)
Low: 48%RH Day (Lights on)

Kush Bomb. I was going to kill her off because she mutated and now she looks like she'll be my favorite out of the bunch. Getting really frosty and fat. And it's still very early.

OG Kush. I jinxed her. I called her a "winner" in an update when she sprouted. She moving along but slowly, as she always has. It's probably my fault though. I never knew Kush's need more nutrients than the average plant when I started her. I'm definitely going to research my strains better next time and see exactly how they grow.

You'll see a leaf burnt to a crisp on the bottom-far right. That was caused by my dumbass leaving it touching the cfl side lighting. I've done it a couple times so far.

I would highly recommend building one yourself if you can. Add a dimmer and switches so you choose how much light you output. Perfect grow light. You can't burn your plants unless they are super duper close, like 1/8" away maybe. My journal is true to the day. The results have been great when comparing other lights in other journals. They would've been even better if I knew wtf I was doing.

Around 400watts spread out in a 4x4 or 3.5x3.5 tent would be adequate.

Day 65 - Day 23 Flower

I smoked some 2 week old bud I dried from defoliating because I was curious. It tasted pretty "green" as I expected but I got a decent high. Made me more excited to get to harvest time.

Day 22: 3/4gal. nutrient solution. Changed location of plants so I could blast my CFL's on Cheese and THC Bomb.

Day 23: Tied down OG kush so I could even out the canopy. She really stretched a lot.
Everybody seems happy for now.

Yes. That's my best guesstimation given where they are now and reading up on other journals with the same strains. THC Bomb might finish around the 8 week mark. On the other end of the scale I can see my OG Kush going 10 weeks.
I want fat, ripe, sticky buds.
