Devil's Carnival: The Community Grow Experience

Ok.... so it finally sunk into my brain that I'm not growing a green pheno. I'm growing a pheno that turns chocolate-purple right as she gets to harvest. I can't believe I didn't notice before, but then this specimen's showing all kinds of pretty.

Fans are flushing to autumnal colors.

I didn't notice until this morning that the buds were, in fact, the same shade of purple my Jamaican turns.

IMG_73159.JPG

They turn a sweet chocolate-purple that suggests the presence of Beta-caryophyllene.

She's filled out nicely. This is the healthiest one yet. :blunt:

IMG_73186.JPG

I had a cutting root, and today I potted it up for Jgrowlove to take home and grow in his garden. One more member to count among the enthralled.

IMG_73298.JPG

She's in the flush cycle now. I'll keep her going until she shows amber. Right now she's completely cloudy.

This one's been the most fun to grow Nis. I feel like I'm beginning to understand the pheno. This one turned out nice, eh? I see no signs of seeds Looks like the attempt didn't take. Another adventure for the year ahead.

Happy New Year everyone.

Ok so here is my Devils Carnival she is 24 days into flower right now. And i was lucky enough to get the purple pheno on atleast one of the two seeds i was gifted. Very great job u guys did on making this strain. Also im growing her hempy style in straight perlite using remo nutes and a perfect sun the dwarf star for lighting.

Beautiful plant Jones. :high-five:

I understand the pull. I suddenly started taking more than one cutting, and right now I have two in veg, plus one other for Jgrowlove, and this girl pushing her harvest window closer and closer. Still no sign of amber, despite the presence of nanners galore. :laughtwo: I'm letting her go as long as I can, in hopes she'll pop a couple seeds. Well... She's also so beautiful I don't want to chop her yet. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Any day now. I have a Malawi chomping at the bit to get into that tent. :laughtwo:

I have a DDA I crossed with skunk I may try soon

But my master plan is to cross one if my DDA seeds I just popped with Grand Daddy Purple

Then pray for Purple

Time for a harvest :slide:

Definately my prettiest one to date. The cooler night temps sent her into some lovely colors.

This is one was the most fun to grow. :cheesygrinsmiley: I have two more coming behind and I'm potting another clone today. I'm gonna try to get some all the way through in solo cups under 12/12 lighting, just because I'm curious as to how much I could get out of something in a container that small with these nutes I'm using. I'm looking at running three of them together in solo cups, but I haven't figured out yet where I'll be able to fit them in. For now the first one is sitting off to the side of Malawi in the closet. That's where the second one being potted today will go too.

One of those coming up behind is DC 1.3, in kit soil. Yesterday she got her first Energy drench.

Very beautiful plant Sue. Nice job! The colors are very nice to look at and I bet she smokes just as good.

What was your night time lows? 65-70?

Congrats.

Thanks. I'm pretty proud of this one.

I keep the apartment at a steady 73, but this girl finished up during the Arctic freeze, when the furnace couldn't keep up in the bedroom. It opens to the balcony, and even brick and 100 yr-old plaster can't keep that chill out. I'll start timing them to finish in winter. :laughtwo:

I'll be doing one under the GROWant GR240 after I do my next Carnival under the panel. That light did amazing things for my current Carnival so I'm following her up with another and I'll double up on the light in flowering. After her I'll drop a DC in. I might make that one soil. I might chop DC 1.3 back and let her start again when I flip the Carnival. That way she'll have a massive root zone. That's how this one got so big.

I jarred up DC 1.2 tonight. :blunt:

83 grams. I'm calling it 3 ounces. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Yes, I'm ectastically happy. :slide:

Congrats Sue, it looks like you did a bang up job!

Thanks Neiko. I'm smoking it tonight and it's pretty good. :cheesygrinsmiley: It smells so much like the Jamaican, but each chemovar has a slightly different bite to the fragrance that distinguishes them. The Jamaican is much sweeter.

DC 1.3 got a major change last week.

I started off chopping her to the lowest node.

IMG_80135.JPG

Then today I started pinning her down.

IMG_814710.JPG

She'll get transplanted in a couple weeks or so.

DC 1.6 and 1.5 (next picture down) got moved back to 20/4 lighting under the quantum boards. I'm just playing with these two.

IMG_80398.JPG

IMG_80418.JPG

DC 1.4 is grabbing the soil now and looking much stronger. This one goes home with Jgrow as soon as it's stable.

IMG_815110.JPG

1.5 and 1.6 will be looking confused real soon. :laughtwo: I'll be keeping them in the cups all the way through. I'm just curious about what I can pull from a solo cup. They take up very little space. Eventually both of these will get chopped back to, and I realize I may end up watering them many times a day before harvest. :laughtwo:

Four DCs and a couple more cuttings in the casual cup. Are we having fun yet? :cheesygrinsmiley:

Blazin Jones......mannnnn great job on that gal!! Reps. Very well done. How much didja end up with? Better yet....how about a smoke report. :volcano-smiley:

Jones, she done drying yet? Do you test when you jar up, or when it's had some cure time? I personally enjoy that fresh buzz as she goes into the jar. I'm curious about how she hits you. :battingeyelashes:

I have another interesting one coming along in Doc's kit soil, DC 1.3.

IMG_93433.JPG

I trained her trained her in an "S" formation. Lol! As soon as I can she'll go into her finish pot, but that'll be a while. No room to flower her yet.

DC 1.5 is finally putting out regular leaves. She and her companion will stay in solo cups. I'm working on a long-term project that requires me to learn to grow efficiently in solo cups. Don't ask. Lol!

IMG_93425.JPG

1.6 is looking quite interesting, IMO. These girls are more plaything at the moment.

IMG_93416.JPG

The real beauty will be this serpentine girl. I can see the potential from here. :slide:

Beauty Buds!

Time to do a post. They’ve grown a bit since you saw them last. Lol!

Two sit in the tiny closet at the moment.

1.3 is now 17 day’s into her bloom cycle. It looks like I’ve learned to keep them more compact. Lol!

1.5 is a mere 5 day’s into bloom and still recovering from the neglect she suffered in veg. Signs of vigor are strong.

1.6 is in her third week of flower. He DC has turned out to be the chemovar to use in the solo cups. They thrive in this containment.

They grab what light they can. Part of the experiment is to see what use I can make of the periphery. DC doesn’t seem to care that she’s on the outer edges of the light.

With the solo cups the idea is maximum oil production in a small container, out in the fringes. I’m hoping to be able to grow them for use in topicals. So far I’m happy with the results. Harvest will be the determining factor.

I recently got some Devil's Carnival to a friend I met while in Jamaica, a native of the island who married a girl from Minnesota and moved there with her some years back. They were staying in the same resort as I, and he and I shared a passion for good sativas that we indulged in on the porch area overlooking the Carribean.

I introduced him to Doc Bud's Lemon Paki. At that time he believed it was the best he'd smoked, a sign of great respect coming from a Jamaican native. I let him have the Lemon Paki for his own, preferring the Tangie myself, but so thrilled to watch his joy everytime he lit up I gladly gave up his favorite.

Tonight he came home to find my surprise, and after he'd had a taste he called to tell me this rivaled that experience, and in fact was more enjoyable because there's something about that chemovar that sent him back in his mind to his homeland. The terpene profile is very close to what we get from my Jamaican chemovar, which may explain the tugging of the memory cells.

He was tremendously impressed with the potency. I'm smiling broadly. Lol!
