Thanks all for the kind words and reps. This is the 101st day since the seeds first got wet. Day 46 of flowering. The girls remain healthy and I've noticed a little more frostiness on some of the buds. Woo Hoo!

IMO investing in one of those scopes are very helpful for looking at your trich's nice! Depending on what type of high you're looking for, the higher percentage of trich's that are cloudy the more of a "couch lock" stone your herb will give you. Once you get there flush for a week or so. I can't wait .
Thanks DeadTour. I am having a lot of fun looking at the trichs through the scope. All sparkly. It reminds me of when I was a kid and first saw all the hidden beauty looking through a microscope I got for Christmas. I am just as full of wonder with these plants as I was when I was a kid. It is a nice feeling.
You can celebrate Christmas in July with fireworks. Major smoke bombs, chicken bone pass arounds, and a Patriot 'knock down' bong lowed.
Many thanks for your literary skills Gator. You are giving us all a little culture.
Nice grow man you will be smoking your own home grown before you know it. I would wait until 20 percent of you trichs go amber to start flushing and harvest at 40 percent you can adjust those numbers slightly up or down do to prefference
Some very good info. Thanks for the help mellowman.
Looking great, wonderful job. the end is near...
Thanks sonzor. I appreciate you hanging out with me all this time.

^^^ Hi jayboy. Welcome to 420 Magazine.
Check out this link if you want to learn about growing.
How to Grow Marijuana - Everything You Need to Know!
It has a ton of info. I read almost all of the info on this link before I started growing and it was a big help. After you read the how to grow tutorials, feel free to ask questions. There are a whole lot of people growing the kind herb on this site and they have a ton of useful info. They are also willing to share that knowledge. Good luck on your grow.

PotPie, great thread. What temp are you getting in the cabinet with the lights on and off? How about the odor? How do you control the odor?
The cabinet runs about 3-4 degrees above the ambient room temp when the lights are on. The room usually tops out at about 78 degrees on a hot day and the cab runs about 81 . At night the room temp and cab temp even out after the light have been out for an hour or so. Night time temps run around 68-72. There have been a few (thankfully, few) occasions where temps have gotten up around 85 once or twice. On the first day my temps were up around 95 or higher. It was a very hot day and I didn't have the glass on the hood because I couldn't get the damn semi rigid/semi-flexible duct to stay on. I bailed on that duct and went to flexible duct and haven't had any real problems since then.
I have been lucky with this strain because I have not needed any odor control. I can usually smell just a faint hint of spice when I get home from work. The smell is a little stronger in the room with the cab, but not much.

Thanks for the rep mellowman!

I think you may be excited to see your lovely buds start to swell up and become more resinous and more fragrant. Dude! I am excited about how this one is going.

Hey 420Mag Growers! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been traveling the last week and a half and wasn't anywhere near a computer.

thanks 4 the reps Pan4!
Hey fineas! they are definitely getting frostier.

Yesterday marked 9 weeks in flower. I haven't taken any pictures recently but I will try to have some new ones posted up tomorrow. It has started getting hot here in So Cal and I am having troubles keeping the cabinet cool. I am worried that this heat will affect potency. I started flushing last week during a one day break in my travels because I think I'm pretty close to harvest. Most of the trichs were clear last week with a few cloudy ones. Today they are all cloudy with a few amber ones. I may harvest the tops and let the bottom ones go a few days longer. It is looking like Saturday will be harvest day. At this point I am very eager to get this heat source out of my bedroom.

Some bad news since my last post... I had one of the plants start showing a banana so I harvested that branch last Wednesday. I let it dry until tonight and I smoked a few hits of it. It is a pleasant mild high that is cerebral and allows me to focus. I can't tell you all how happy I am to have smoked some medicine I grew myself for the first time. I get the feeling most of you have experienced that pleasure already though.:roorrip:

A little more bad news... Apparently I didn't get my male out before he planted his demon seed so I am starting to see seed calyxs on some of the colas. It still looks like I will get some respectable smoke for a first grow. I really wanted some sensemilla but it looks like that will have to wait until next time. Overall, I gotta say I am still damn happy with my results thus far.

Here's a picture of a plant I submitted for June Plant of the Month. It is of my favorite plant at seven weeks into flowering.

Plant of the Month Contest - June 2009

As always, Thanks for looking.

Looks like a saguaro cactus arm sticking out massively. Soft spikes. I totally love this asymetrical extreme response to molestation in the lst way. Big bird thrown up at whom ever. Quite phallic, I think and she's even serving up a few beans for your pleasure! This and all under 400w your first grow? You're a medicine man now, and I know for sure that what you've grown is much MUCH better than what was in the bag that seed came in. Enjoy

Also like to say the new Quantum dimmable ballasts would be great for your setup because youcan dimm them for your plants when they are small and then turn them up as more light is needed. I didnt see a veg room and if ur vegging in the same room you flower in the dimmable ballast can save you money and in the end you can have your already big nugs bigger for the same price, or you can have the same size nugs for cheaper. I sounjd like Im a salesman for quantum or something. I promise I am not, but I am a happy costumer. I love these ballasts! This room will actually have tomatoes and other plants but the idea is the same. (on a sidenote you should never place that sentinel enviro comtroller that close to elect. ballasts. I now know this now and am sharing it with you. lol,..And it has been changed since the pictures were taken ..Check out a few of my pics.

Week 9 of Flower
Hey gang, Last night I promised some new pictures so here they are. These shots are just a few minutes old. The plants are now 120 days from seed. As I mentioned yesterday, I am preparing to give them all the chop on Saturday. I harvested 2 more small branches last night and pruned back all of the large fan leaves and a few of the smaller ones. I also gave everyone a good flush earlier in the day. As you can see, the colas are getting heavy and having trouble holding themselves up.

Welcome aboard greenisland. That's a nice setup you have. Thanks for the info on the dimmable ballasts.;)

For those of you that haven't met greenisland yet, check out the plant of the month contest for June. He has a sweet looking plant that he bred. Of course I'd like it if you voted for me but I will certainly understand if you selected his beauty.
