, It's a He. That is their "Wattle". During the mating season the wattles swell up and turn bright red.
It's a trip to watch these dudes struttin' for the ladies.

We received our 2nd snowfall of the season yesterday and overnight.
It's funny....when we were hit with that snowstorm that dumped about a foot and a half on us last month, my plow guy never came through.
Today there's only about 4 inches of it, and he plowed this morning. Hmm.....

In the meantime....how about a shot during the month of April when we were supposed to be done with the snow showers.
The early Wood Ducks on a bent tree over the pond appear to be discussing..
....."Should I stay or should I go now??" Then one decides to hell with it and leaves.....

Beautiful! Most people will overexpose white flowers, you did great.
My favorites are number 7 and 9. Love the water drops and that deep colored star in the center.
