3x300W LED, Purple Kush, Scrog, Soil, Grow

No scrog tonight... I pulled them down again and almost retopped and went.. oh wait.. those are new ;) they grew right overtop the top'd top...

And I also raised my LEDs to help grow faster UP. oh and those leaves on the ground.. they were just in the way and I snipped them off.

Be sure to keep those LED units closer once you go to flower. I had them at roughly that heighy my first grow when I flipped to 12/12 and a few got crazy strechy.

I'm hoping that'll happen so I can keep in the scrog.. then lower when growth stops

I had what I thought was a fungal gnat flying around my place lastnight so I caught it.. and scoped it..

nope.. das a fruit fly! so I got the tacky paper and looked at one on it..

yep.. das a fungal gnat.. they're attacking me from all sides ;p

Scrog has been installed!

I've released the pipe cleaners from the branches and placed the net almost at the top of the canopy. I'll let them grow into this and work off that.. today I also gave a full Aggressive feeding

1G water
5ml Cal Mag
2ml Sili
15ml Grow
10ml Micro
5ml Bloom

Original RO was 700-850ppm with just calmag water and the Feeding is a 1740ppm
RO was
1400
800
1500

not sure how one is so much lower but *shrugs* to each their own ;p as long as they don't give me lip or burt tips I'm happy.

lets see how well the fill in goes now

Nice looking net! Definitely keep training those plants to be as wide as possible. Im starting to have trouble managing the net now that the inner growth has caught up, and your plants are much denser than mine.

Another scroggin trick I have learned is using the fan leaves to protect growth tips when working them into the net. I have only broken one branch so far and it recovered well with a bit of e tape.

Have you thought about some of those misquito disks for the fungus gnats?

Lookin good! :thumb:

Have you thought about some of those misquito disks for the fungus gnats?

you know.. I didn't even think of that.. I'm going to try that! thankie.. or rather this. same product.. just broke up and says fungal gnats too..

I think the biggest issue I'm going to have with this scrog method is the sheer height.. these bad girls won't get any height.. they're just bushing out.. ah well.. just have to see how this last feeding helps.. I can't move the lights any higher up. I know this strain is a bushy plant.. but man.. these plants are plump. ;p I have even trimmed off some of the larger fan leaves but they still just bush.

what would the day be without a time lapse. Seeing the plants droop like they're almost dying after a watering is interesting.. but then perk right up when they have their sleep.. (the lights off isn't included in these for obv reasons)

Nothing major about this update other than I solved the watering hassle.. here is the solution!

this makes watering 90x easier.. plus I can get more even coverage. Along with the watering I did tonight I used the fungal gnat pellets in the water and on the soil.. lets see if that solves the lil buggers.

Was just a normal calmag water today. no more cups / gallons.. just watered.. waited then watered till RO. RO water was in the 840-880 mark so I'll skip fert till Friday or Sat. they're def growing as I pushed all three back under the net to wided them.. I'm into week 7 and day 47. I think I'll flip to 12/12 when I get into week 9 as the net is filling up nicely.

This afternoon I decided it was time to do something to help with the growing..

defoliation!

Upon trimming.. I noticed these.. =/ they're starting to show their sex.. which is good.. but I think it's a little to early.. prob cause the lack of light on the lower branches.. but hopefully they snap out of it. they've got a few more weeks of veg.

and the leaves.

nothing else tonight.. gonna let them grow over the weekend and check base with them on Sunday.

Tonight I gave the plants a watering as well as a feeding.. 321 like I did before.. The original RO water was in the 700 mark so I figured what the heck.. Aggressive growth is needed to recover from the hair cut I gave them on Friday.. although they've regrown quite a lot already.. I also did some more tie downs to help widen the coverage. The ppm of the feeding was 1620 and the RO of that was still in the 700's. if all goes as planned.. I'll switch to flower in the next 1-2weeks. more for the 2 weeks.. but will just wait and see

I also found some shorter pans to fit under the trays so I took them off their blocks.. I had one fall on me last week and if it'd been in the net.. that'd been prob a bad thing.. so I figure better to do now than later. I only found 2.. but I'll get another when they get them back in stock

Wow you are feeding at a way higher ppm than I am. I am only at 550 currently.

ya.. I remember the first time I saw those numbers I was worried they were to high.. but so far so good. this was feeding #2 at this level.. Im thinking I'll get one more in before switching to 2x2x2 and 12/12hr then to the 1x2x3 (grow/micro/bloom)

Today marks day 2 of week 8 of veg. Crop King says 8-10weeks of veg is the avg.. so things seem to be going just as they should.

Lastnight I gave what I hope will be my last Aggressive growth feeding. 5calmag / 2 sili and 3/2/1 of gro micro bloom. the PPM was around 1500 going in. and gave RO of 750 on two and upper 800s on the third. this week I'll monitor the growth and if I've got a nice canopy in the screen I'll give a 2/2/2 and then transition to a 12/12 light cycle a few days later.

heres some updated photos.

they've really filled in since the defoli.. quite happy with this growth..

watering sked has returned to somewhat normal.. Once every two days now that the leaves are back grown.. Tonight I watered with normal 5ml CalMag per g of water.. RO was 750/850/900.. I also removed the pipe cleaners as they're holding their position as is and are close to the net so I'll use that fro any further training.. however.. these suckers are bushy! pretty sure the scrog isn't going to be more than support which at the end of the day.. that works for me..

One thing that I noticed tonight are the tops are oddly looked.. I thought they were flowers.. but they're actually the leaves coming out.. they just look odd to me.. I'm not to concerned about it as everything else looks great. my guess is I'll go 12/12 on Friday as they've shown their sex and seem to be ready.
