At this time it appears that evidence for the use of cannabis to treat viral diseases is anecdotal. With the current covid-19 pandemic, it seems inevitable that at least some members will use it to try and prevent, cure, or mitigate the symptoms. The best information I've found to date is:

Covid-19 is not going to go away. The first infections in China occurred around the seventh of October, and five months later they are still reporting new cases. A vaccine is not expected to be available to the public until the fall of 2021.
