Will be start a journal with this grow. Right now just a little info as I get stuff ready.
Mixed my Canna Coco (75%) with mid grade Perlite (25%) for 5 - two gallon Smart Pots.
Added 1,650 grams in each Smart Pot.
20220510_120911.jpg

Dumped the Smart Pots into a 5 gallon bucket and added two tablespoons of Great White, mixed well and put the 1,650 grams back into the Smart Pot, one pot at a time.
20220510_120700.jpg

I then removed enough coco/perlite to fill a solo cup, put the cup in the hole I dug to fill the solo's and repacked..

The 5 pots are filled and will be flushed prior to adding the seeds with RO, Cal/Mag, Epsom and Great White. Saturday I will put my seeds in cups of water for a 36 hr. pre germinate soak. They will then go into the Solo cups under a 5 bulb T5 lamp.

After they emerge they will go into the 2 gallon pots.
Made good use of the 420 sale, both auto's and photoperiod fem's.
Thinking of doing some FastBuds Auto's to start. My first real Auto grow with intent.
That's about it for now. Be a bit before i add to this.
I would like to move this to a journal when I want.

Decision on the that strains have been made!
Going to germinate, 5 Fast Buds Gelato Cookies Autos (reported at u to 27% THC and 1 Seedsman Lemon Auto (no % THC reported) but the reviews of this strain are positive.
I will plant all that comes up but only plant 5 or 6 in the tent. I worry about planting outdoors, do not live in a cannabis friendly state.
Got the T5 lamp hung, the 4x4 grow tray installed on the stand, and the waste container under the stand. Will flush the pots and solo cups on Sunday so they will be ready for the seeds Monday or Tuesday, they will be placed in the Solo cups directly, no paper towels. I hope to have them emerge in the Solo's by Wednesday or Thursday and go into the two pots by Friday to begin the journey.

Well Saturday morning I put 5 of the Gorilla Cookies Autos in jars with RO water, and ended up putting all three of the Lemon Autos in the jars of water because two of the three seeds did not look all that great.
Got home late last night so this morning I poured the GCA's onto paper towels and all 5 had already emerged so I went ahead and planted them directly into the final 2 gallon fabric pots. Prior to planting I flushed the pots with RO, Great White, Cal/Mag, Epsom and rooting solution, all at reduced rates.
One of the Lemon Autos were plump with roots about to emerge and a second was plump but did not show signs of emerging yet. I planted both of them directedly into the fabric pots.
I expect sprout on the GCA's in a day or two and the Lemon Autos is questionable.

Six out of seven seeds emerged, 5 Gorilla Cookies Autos and 1 Lemon Auto. Six is the perfect number for my tent.
The 5 Gorilla Cookies, they popped yesterday.

Lemon Auto, popped today.

Well the 7th seed emerged, it is one of the three Lemon Autos, took 4 days to emerge.
This is the third Lemon Auto seed, never sunk in the 36 hr. pre-germ soaking or popped in the damp paper towel, left it in the paper towel till today, nothing. Why would they put a seed in a bag that even looks like this.

Probably just a dud.... I don't judge seeds by looks anymore as it has no bearing on internal genetics... As long as hardness, shape, and size are on point color is just astetics.

Edit: and one dud out of the group is great....not to long ago I had a pack of 5 northern light autos (all dark) not germinate....company thankfully replaced the whole pack.

Yes one out of 8 ain't too bad, 87.5%, I can live with that.
So today I give them their first real watering feed, very low nutes and Great White with total saturation to runoff, then not water again till I see wilt. Get them roots good and strong.

Yesterday I did the first full watering with lite nutrients, Canna A&B, Rhizotonic, Cal/Mag, Epsom, Rapid Start and Great White.
Today is day 5 since the plants emerged and they are doing well under the 5 lamp T5, will be installing the HLG Scorpion Diablo later this week and remove the T5.

The Lemon Auto that will be planted in soil today to grow outside.

Looking at around July 26 for the Gorilla Cookies and the Lemon Auto #2 should be around July 19 and the LA #1 is anyone guess, have not grown outdoor in 45 years so who knows. LOL

Good luck!

Today is day 8 since sprout, can see those pics from 5/18.
Four days later, Sunday the 22nd pics were the last I posted.
Now four days since the pics on the 22nd they are progressing. Yesterday I added the Solo cups of coco/perlite that I removed from each pot during setup, see pics from 5/10. Also gave them a good thorough watering with lite nutrients, Canna A&B, Rhizotonic, Cannazyme, Rooting solution, Cal/Mag and Epsom, watered to around 40% runoff.

So far so good, like what is going on the 5x5.

The Lemon Auto planted outside is not doing much, was very small at transplant, not much root system and transplanted from coco to soil. Will post a pic later.

I know this is about another journal. But I’m really interested in trying out a vertical grow. I was curious about the dimensions of your stands. I also wanted to know about the lighting you used. I want to get the max wattage I can use (3-4 plants). I have only used LED fixtures so I’m not familiar with any other style of lighting. Also have you tried this style growing with autos? Thanks!!

Today while visiting the plants I decided to go ahead and hookup the irrigation/fertigation system. Pulled the Orbit 8 port distribution manifold and tubing from the bucket I put it in, I had the Rainbird stream rotors and attachment tubing in a box so I pulled them out, disassembled them and put them in vinegar to clean the buildup off.
I hooked everything up, shut each head down to about 25%, put 10 gallons of RO water w/ Cal/Mag Epsom and Rapid Root in the reservoir. Turned the system on, opened the heads and shut it all down, not enough pressure. So I took the filter off the pressure reducer and cleaned it, was dirty. Tried again, shut it down again, removed the main filter and cleaned it, not that bad. Tried again, shut it down and started searching for the answer to the no pressure problem. I started at the pump and reservoir, check the pressure reducer filter again, clean, started tracing the 1/2" feed line to the tent. Ah Ha, had a kink in the feed line, straightened it out a turned the system on again, damn water went everywhere, the heads were way to open so I rushed and started closing them down. Got them spraying at the rate I am looking for so all is ready. Will be filling the reservoir today and getting it ready for the next watering. Will not add nutrients until late Saturday or Sunday depending on the weight of the coco pots.
I have a procedure on my heart tomorrow so unsure how I will be feeling so I need to get it ready and if needed my Lady can add the nutrients to the reservoir.

I will send you a private message this weekend, if that works for you.

I hope your procedure goes well get better soon my friend :)

Well the procedure went ok, I am cleared for the two major surgeries, hopefully starting in early June.
Did not get any pics yesterday but got a few today.
Have the irrigation system up and running but thinking I will probably do two more hand watering's with good runoff 30 to 40%, using lite nutrients and Great White. They are still damp from Thursdays watering so will check them later today and water if needed but I am thinking it will be tomorrow for the good drench.
The plants seem to be doing well and growing fairly rapidly., even the two GC's, #3 and #5 that started fairly slow are catching up.

The Lemon Auto is doing much better than expected.

The outdoor Lemon Auto is not doing much, I probably damaged the roots during transplant. Hopefully it will come around.
