GR8's 2022 Auto Grow Diary

Well I am not sure what has happened but the ladies have taken a dive!
These pics shows the progression from 5/28 to 5/31.
Unsure what happened, have never had any issue like this before in all my years of growing.
HLG Scorpion Diablo LED is @ 50% and 24 inches above the plants, as recommended by HLG Tech Support.
Temp in the tent has been 82 - 83 degrees F
Watering with 3 ml Cal/Mag, 1 gram Epsom, 2 ml Canna A&B, and Rhizotonic. pH'ed to 5. 88 and
did a flush on late Saturday evening with 30% runoff. On Sunday noticed a change in the plants. I flushed them again yesterday both times with at least 50%. That brings us to today.

Guessing I will start a new batch of seeds, flush the Smart Pots with a shitload of water with just Cal/Mag, Epson and pH.

That's all folks.

I’m sorry to see that happened man wish I could help but I can provide support
Same....sorry about the ladies gr865 wish I could help but I'm a soil grower and have no knowledge of coco....but If I had to guess looks like phosphorus or calcium deficiency....or over watering which shouldn't be the case since you medium does a constant drain....but they all have similar looks. Regardless I'll be watching to see the answer as well as it's nice to gain the knowledge.

Hey gr865 have you dumped them?
I think you have a problem with the auto feeders you have.
How are they set? I mean how much and how often?
Possible hand feed until those roots develop.
Have you been putting the calmmag in your mix first and waiting 10 minutes before adding your A?
We can save them, don't dump them.

Stay safe

Bill thanks for the encouragement.

I hookup the auto feed system but have not used it yet, just got it ready, tested and ready for startup. I have been hand watering when the pots get lite. But it could be overwatering, though I don't think so.
I always add my Cal/Mag and Epsom first, not sure I wait a full 10 minutes but it is close.

I was so pissed this morning I almost dumped them then but decided to wait for a few days.

Sorry for the delay in answering.
"Water when pots get lite" ??
Coco has to be kept wet all the time.
Fed every day at 5.8.
No plain water.
Cm in first every time, then A then B.
If you let it dry it becomes hydrophobic and repels water.
How often are you feeding?

Stay safe

Bill thanks for your comments, I have been growing in coco for a number of years now, so I know the drill.
I have eliminated the options, pH has been 5.8 to 5.9, never plain water, c/m first, never allow them to dry out.
I just came in from checking them and they are not going to make it.
I am going to start a new batch of seeds in Solo's and transplant up, which I did not do this time. I think that was that was the issue, trying to plant directly into the 2 gallon smart pots.
Not sure when I will start I have to get my procedures done very soon. Have first surgery scheduled for Monday and the second about two weeks after. Not sure how much I will be able to do after the procedures, so not really sure when I should restart a new batch of seeds.

Wishing you health and safety,
GR

It may be easier just to dump these then and restart after your surgery.
I hope everything goes well and your on your feet in no time.
But relax first. :meditate:

Well the first surgery is oner, on the mend. Will find out when they plan on doing the 2nd surgery sometime next week. Be glad when all of this is behind me.
Thinking over this last grow I can only come to one conclusion I totally screwed up. Believe I was too distracted by my health issues.
My first mistake this grow was not following the plan for the grow. I normally soak the seeds for 24 to 36 hours then paper towel them. I went out of town and did not get back for two days and did not check the seeds in water till the next morning. They had sprouted and had a tap root of about .75 inches so I deviated from my plan an went ahead and planted directly into the two gallon Smart Pots. They came up in less than two days. I had not fully put together a feeding/ watering plan as I was still trying to read as much as I could on growing auto's.
Fast forward 14 days, I had flushed and fed with just Cal/Mag and Epsom
My RO machine adds back Calcium and Mag. for flavor so I can get an EC reading, which is normally around 50 ppm or 0.1 EC. When I checked the EC of nutrient solution I got a reading of 0.86 which was good. I checked the RO with the meter this morning and got an error reading, so I calibrated the EC meter and rechecked the RO and got a reading of 0.09. There is no telling what the actual EC was of the nutrient solution.
Next I checked the pH meter, prior to calibration the RO and it was 6.78, after I calibrated the meter the same water read 6.01. When I pH'ed the solution the last Saturday prior to feeding/flushing (40% runoff min) the pH read 6.2, so I assume this was also part of the problem.

I have decided not to start another grow until I an fully recovered from my surgeries as I don't think I can take care of them.

I want to think y'all for coming along on this short ride and I will be back in the saddle again soon.
