Greenislands 5 Gallon Upgrade Ebb & Gro TEK

Amazing room and set up. Very clean you know what your doing for sure. Only in my dreams. Great job and + rep

Thanks for all the wonderful comments everyone! To answer your question grow pot for fun, no. The insulation is on the ductwork is not something I added. Most people dont buy insulated ductwork because its kind of a pain in the ass to work with but I found that it keeps the hot air in the ductwork away from the air in the room and therefore works much more efficiently. The ductwork comes in rolls of 25ft for $35 already insulated, in the future I plan on buying the RF heat sheilds for the reflectors too but as of right now they stay pretty damn cool, like actually very cool.

And YES Pit Soooooo close! I cantr wait to see it all completed and done. Hopefully after I finish my journal will help me get some voted for member of the month! That would be awesome!!! Thanks for veiwing everyone!!!!

for 400.00 It just isnt worth building it yourself...I have 2 of them

DO any of you guys running EBB systems ever have issues with the roots clogging things up in your 2 gal pots? How about the T's and elbows getting blocked? I've never ran a EBB system and was wondering how common of an occurrence these "clogging" issues are?

The thread creator, Greenisland, did claim to have this issue so that inspired him to remake the system and post it here.

Ok so I installed the 100 gallon reservoir today, I had to...uhummm...do some remodeling to the doors to make them fit but it got in there eventually. I got all the 5 gallon buckets ready to go and everything, Im waiting on the clones to get used to the light for a day or two before I throw them in the room with 2-1000watts blaring down on them...well I can dim the lights but their still pretty dam bright for little cloneys. So as soon as the clones are hardened their going in the romm. Everything is comp[leted in the room now, ductwork lights rail etc. all done. It lookms like a damn borg ship in the room now with all the crazy ductwork and stuff. Anyhow heres some pics of the new 100 gallon reservoir.

You can see I had to take off the quarter round trim and door in order for it to fit in the room!

Heres a picture of some of the new ductwork that was run for the room, I also installed 2 8" vortex blowers to exchange the air from the two rooms quite rapidly. In this pic I wasnt finished and its all messy looking but its not like that anymore...you cant see any pink insulation or anything like that.

Just a general picture looking into the room.

In this picture I was demonstrating how much more substrate the new system holds compared to the old 2.5 gallon system. In this picture you can see the hydroton that was in the bucket I emptied out into trhe 2.5 gallon buckets until it was empty and it turns out that about 2 and a half 2.5 gallon buckets are needed to hold as much substrate as 1 of the 5 gallon buckets only filled 2/3 of the way up. Doesnt seem like that should be the case but I gaurantee you it is, these new buckets hold a LOT more substrate than the old smaller ones.

And heres the little clones being hardened so i dont fry them under the 1000watt lights. There is GDP, Sweet Tooth, Big Bang, Super Lemon Haze,White Widow and Tangerine. This crop should be very interesting, and tasty too, I cant wait!

Hope you all enjoyed the bud porn. Im hoping tommarrow I will have all the plants in the buckets and running. I plan on getting 2 hortiluix blue bulbs tommarrow too, and as soon as their situated and I know the system is working smoothly I will have the entire full version of the 5 Gallon Ebb and Gro TEK up for all to see and copy. Almost done (even though ive said that like half a dozen times now, lol.) Thanks for tuning in people were almost almost there.

Wow, great job on the room and all those strains sound delicious. Cant wait too see them all grown up. Great job again...

Ok, so I finished everything today! Hell fuckin yeah, its about damn time! So I am going to run it for 24hrs before I put my girls in there just to make sure it works properly over time. I took a couple of pics but Im going to take the majority of them tommarrow after the plants go in. As of now the only little leak I found was one of the buckets and it was because I left a bur on the hole, but it was an easy fix! I was really happy with how things worked, very smooth and for the very first run it went very well. The 100 galloon reservoir was about half empty when the buckets were full. There also wasnt any substrate in there so it didnt displace any water. So heres the pics, and FINALLY ITS DONE!! AND IT WORKS GREAT, ATLEAST SO FAR, lol

Heres a pic of me filling up the reservoir, it took soooo long just to get this far, it was kinda nice to finally be filling it up, even just for a test run. I imagine its something like the countdown for the space shuttle, tension was rising at this point and I was thinking "is it gonna work over and over again in my head.

Hasn't happened to me but I also grow many smaller plants (30-36 inches tall). Roots do grow down into the bottom. I run an air stone in my res's to ensure as much oxygen as possible is in the water.

Some have gone as far as running a air stone down in the bottom of the outer bucket. thats a lot of airstones, lines and pumps if I were to do that. I think it would be easier to find a way from letting the roots into the bottom pot. perhaps capillary mats or something in the bottom of the inner pots would help.

I do believe they are 2 gallon buckets and not 2.5. Which explains the 2.5 buckets to fill 1 5 gallon. I calculate 1 50L bag will fill 2 and 3/5 5 gallon buckets
