Grow #2 - Looking for Gold - Columbian Gold

Re: Grow #2, Looking for Gold, Columbian Gold

Thanks for the comments Growing247 and Taxx.

I waited until day 40 to put them into flowering stage. My 1st grow I vegged for 9 weeks, 63 days before the switch. It took 6-7 days into the 12/12 light schedule to start showing the pistil location, by 10-11 days all the pistils started showing up everywhere. The C.Gold and Blue Widow were actually ready to switch at the end of the 4th week. But in week 5 and 6, they got so damn bushy, smelling great.

My cuttings have not much yet, they appear ok, keeping them in the dome under a few CFL's, 23watt, 6500k, 1800 lumen, hope to see some roots soon

The mothers are under five 105watt, 2700k, 5000 lumen, plus six 26watt, 3000k, 1800 lumen and two 23watt, 6500k, 1800 lumen to mix-up the spectrum abit. Rough total 720watts, 39400 lumen in a 12sqft closet.

those are some bushy girls u got there. looks great.

Thanks, I am impressed how sturdy/durable these two strains are. Growing aero-hydro is fun to do w/these beautiful plants. If I get a few clones from the cuttings, this grow will just alittle bigger. Thanks for stopping by

Re: Grow #2, Looking for Gold, Columbian Gold

beautiful set up and pretty girls!.......+reps 2 U
Thanks for stopping by retcwby. I am exciting about this grow. Both strains can really help me w/my lymes disease. Wish now my 1st grow were these strains, but I grew mostly indica dom. strains on my 1st run, lost track of what strain was which plant. A real rookie mistake.

Day 51 into the grow, day 10 of 12/12 lite schedule. Switching to 14/10 in 4 days, leaving it at that schedule until harvest. Burning four 105watt, 2700k, 5000 lumen, four 65watt, 3000k, 4500 lumen, plus four 23watt, 3000k, 1800 lumen and two 26watt, 6500k, 1800 lumen to mix-up the spectrum abit. Rough total 876watts, 39400 lumen in a 12sqft closet All 4 gals have at least 5-6 tops on them. Most of those tops are starting to show some pistils, days away from the actual flowering to show. 1st grow it took between 11-14 days to start showing pistils.

With some luck, harvest should be between the 1st to 7th of January 2011, however right now I have 6 C.Gold and 3 B. Widow clones that are nearly ready for their perspective grow-boxes and will be vegging in the new grow area. After the mothers are harvested, going to put all 4 back into vegetation stage to regenerate. I will need to calibrate my grow so that I am vegging the clones and at the same time have a 2 staged flowering area, 1 stage for clones turning to 12/12, the other stage are clones that are 4-5 weeks from the harvest. My goal is to have a harvest every month. Somewhrer into the mix I plan to introduce a new strain or two in a few months...

The ladies, 10 days into 12/12 schedule, flowering stage :bong:

Re: Grow #2, Looking for Gold, Columbian Gold

looking good brother. Been a while since i checked out your grow. Sorry to hear you havent been feeling good. I read up a little on Lymes Disease, that shit doesnt sound fun at all. Anyway, just stopping by briefly to play catch up.

Thanks for stopping by. Did you say you are growing Blue Widow? My Blue Widow was a freebie and I am really impressed on how easy it is to grow this strain. Can't wait to try her out after the cut. I took several cuttings from her so the grow continues via clones.

Be interesting to follow your grow, have you posted a grow journal yet?

Thanks for stopping by Giovanni ....
Yeah, the Lymes can set me back abit at times, the grow must go on tho..want to try that Blue Widow & Columbian Gold. I truely enjoy growing, wish I had done this years ago. Bud has really helped me w/my Lymes disease this past year, I have done more w/my life in the past 12 months than I did the past 3 years due to consuming Grade A bud a year ago.

Day 54 into the grow, 13 days of 12/12 light schedule, switching to 14/10
Currently burning a total of 875watt, 6500k, 50,000 lumen w/my CFLs. Some white pistil hairs are now showing. Should have flowering buds in a few days to a week. The Blue Widow is still bushing outwards, where as the C.Gold continues to stretch. Lots of tops...

Columbian Gold, day 13 into flowering

Re: Grow #2, Looking for Gold, Columbian Gold

Day 59 into the grow, day 18 of flowering.
Got buds everywhere now, out of the 3 Columbian Gold, one is real dominet, she is gonna be the mother. The Blue Widow, bushy as hell w/6-8 flower/buds showing. She is very hard to trim and I have to stay on top of pruning the dominet Gold cuz she just towers over the B.Widow. Lost a plant on my 1st grow that way and the cuttings I took from the B.Widow was even hard to reach. However on the cuttings/clones I can separate each strain so the are in their perspective grow-boxes. Can't wait to get them going in a few days or so.....

Re: Grow #2, Looking for Gold, Columbian Gold

It's been 71 days into the grow, 30 days into flowering. With 1 dominet Columbian Gold out of 3 she is doing awesome. She has grown 12 separate tops w/huge cola/bud growth at least 8-10 inches down the branch. Photos do not do justice as how they truly look.

My Blue Widow is really becoming dominet as well. She has grown some nice flowering/cola/bud as well, but she fills out in her last 2 weeks as discribed in strain

Re: Grow #2, Looking for Gold, Columbian Gold

Quick summary:
Grow system, Aero-Hydro using General Hydroponics Flora Bloom, Flora Micro and CalMag+. Using distilled water only w/ppm of 4, top off w/only distilled water, PH at 5.4-5.6, never exceed 1100 PPMs during bi-weekly boost.

Burning five 105watt, 2700k, 5000 lumen, five 65watt, 2700k, 4500 lumen, six 46watt, 6500k, 1800 lumen and six 43watt, 2700k, 1800 lumen CFLs using clamp-on fixtures and Y sockets for the smaller CFLs so I can double up. Placed a wooden ribbing frame in/on the flat white interior grow-closet interior...this way I can clamp on anywhere in and around my grow. Light scedule is 14/10

Strain: Landrace Columbian Gold and Blue Widow, Day 80 of the grow, day 39 of flowering. Pretty much a trouble free grow so far. Light schedule was 12/12 of day 1 of flowering, just switched to 14/10 to now get more trichome production and fattening of the main colas. Currently have 22 C.Gold main colas, 12 B.Widow main colas. Lots of underbud as well. Not sure if I'll grow out or cut them away. The under-bud makes great cannabutter and hash. Can't even guess the outcome regarding the wieght, don't really care, plan to make a shit-load of hash. Besides I'm re-vegging every plant, in fact they will go into even a better grow box to be my mommas.

I truly enjoy the grow, using an aero-hydro grow system is alittle work and cost. Plan to get a water distiller. Using distilled water is the way. My filterd tap is at 250ppms, and that's filtered? Plus I rinse my plants roots every 7-10 days, replenish w/fresh distilled, rinse for 24 hours, then give them a new dose of Flora Bloom and micro, calmag...it works for me...

Thanks for stopping by Giovanni831. I realized the other day, my flowering day count is off by 10 days. As of today, I'm 89 days into the grow, 48 days w/12/12 light schedule and 38 days into flowering. Pushes harvest back a week to 10 days, no problem. Have plenty of bud from my 1st run. So actually I am happy, this gives my gals more time to fatten/ripen...

Also will have alot of underbud, that's what I call it, others call it popcorn bud. Either way w/the trim and underbud will make some awesome cannabutter and primarily some hash. So w/that said

38 Days of Flowering
