Hi All,

This is my first grow. The 5 plants are Hash Plant, with 3 in one self watering planter and 2 in the other. I thought the plants looked a little thin in the stem since seed.

The seeds were germinated in paper towel according to the seed distributors instructions. I planted them in potting soil in Jiffy Pots on Sunday May 29. On Sunday June 19 I planted them outside in the planters using potting soil. I added 20-20-20 all purpose fertilizer (15 ml in 4l of water) on Thursday June 30. The soil has remained moist and never dried out. The plants seemed to grow well with the fertilizer, yesterday my wife noticed the discolouration on the leaves.

Lastly, I noticed holes in the soil of the plant right at the base last week. Do I have an insect problem?

Thanks.

Thanks Richard.

Do you get liquid calcium at the pharmacy? It would explain the odd looks I got at the nurseries.

Does it matter if it is flavoured? How much should I use ( I'm sure the label only lists doses for humans not plants).

Thank you again,

Yep - throw some Cal-Mag or CaliMagic their way. Available at most grow supply places. You can get the Mag from Epsom salts, too.
