12 Days Veg (since broke soil)

This one is #1LSD, happy with the growth so far.
As for the other seeds...

On the 19th, the 2nd seed was still not doing anything @ 10 days in peat,
but the 3rd seed broke soil after 7 days in peat. The next day, seed 3 now
called #2LSD, had done nothing, seed 2 either. I didn't like the look of the
green stuff growing all over the peat. While poking around at the green
stuff on the peat, I displaced the seedling. Had a closer look at it and noticed
it wasn't really doing anything at all so...

I cut up some egg carton and made little coco starters.
I removed #2LSD's helmet and the thin sack that was holding the
cotyledons back, with surgical precision, and rinsed it off in tap water.
Picked out the other seed and rinsed it off too, it still has 2-3mm of a white
root tip sticking out! Used tap water for these for the chlorine to sterilize them.
Put them in the new coco starter homes.

The little #2LSD that could...

1781422

Happy in it's new coco starter home.

Nothing outta that other seed yet, it's been in medium for 15 days today.
I might dig it up later and surgically remove it from the shell, we'll see....

21 Days Old.

Sorry, life has been busy.
The little LSD seed that could... didn't!
The other seed was a dud too. So...
Outta 3 beans I only have 1 success.

She wanted a transplant today,
1789290

so she's getting my new treatment in a 2gal fabric with 1.5in of Hydroton on the bottom.
1789292

Then lined with a circle of Fiberglass Screen.
1789299

1789300

Then I finish filling with coco on top of the screen.
Then I rinse with 4L/1Gal of RO water with 8ml of CalMag Ph'd to 5.8.
Measure the runoff, 105ppm, I'm happy with that.
Take out the former-cup I forgot to mention,
sprinkle hole walls and bottom with Myco and a dash of Insect Frass.
Drop the girl in her new home, cover the top of the coco with Hydrostones.
1789303

1789304

Not sure what to do with this yet. I'm getting the usual tight nodes and early secondary growths
under the Blurple Saturation of my 100w China LED, 36w @ the wall, 12-14in from plant.
1789307

@ home, next to some clones I'm working on.

Hey Rasta,
Sorry about your LSD. I love that strain, my mate grew THE best you ever tasted.
My jar still smells of it.... 8 years later.
hahaha.

Hey LR72, nice to see ya bro.
Thanks, but don't be sorry bro!
She's doing awesome actually, I think I'll have her veg'd in time
for next run, I think she'll run next to one of my first Bruce clones.
I've gone full coco, I found these new expanding coco pellets,
same as the Jiffy peat ones, but coco and paper net instead of that
dreaded plastic net on the Jiffy's. And no green stuff grows on them.
I'll feel a lot better about transplanting these, paper net and all in.
Your words of excellent taste and 8yr lingering stank inspires me,
Thanks.

Some serious leaf bleaching there, didn't give my ChinaLED enough credit.
I also posted an error earlier, this LED is 56w at the wall, not 36.
It claims to be a 100w equivalent and it's acting like it!
Backed it off a bit and things are better now, green even starting to come back.
Lots of healthy new growth from top to bottom. Time to top her early, now that
I have a plan and better grasp on how things go under this light setup.
1793514

There's actually 3 nodes, 6 branches, in that little cluster at the bottom.
Gonna chop her right above it and clone that top into a Mother plant,
I feel this is a strain I'm gonna wanna keep around! It's got 2 Skunks in it's
genetics but the Mazar traits might make it hard to train the way I want,
it'll be fun to see. I think the Blurple Saturation will make it branch out plenty
and give us what we want. Mazar likes to be short and stalky with a main cola
and larfy branches. Might take me some extra veg time to get it where I want
but I think the end result is gonna be amazing, we'll see...

Topped
1793547

Top in new coco starter pellet home.
1793548

Nice and humid in there, 90%. 25c/77f @ the roots on a heat-mat controller.

Saw a notice that Dr.Seeds changed the "Free Seeds" policy,
due to a bunch 420 members hitting them up for free seeds before Journaling!
How stupid of me to have turned down them actually offering me free seeds,
and paying for mine to keep it legit! The only thing I "hit them up" for was
T-Shirt, poster or stickers to advertise them. Let's not talk about stickers, Grrrr...

I'm pretty happy with the looks of this 1 LSD I got out of 3 seeds.
Not too bad, now that I understand I am only supposed to get
1 mother plant out of a 5 seed pack, as per their
no guarantee germination statement.

I know I'm a critical ass, I'm far worse on myself than others...
Maybe when the LSD is done, my free Journal seeds should be
Critical Mass, for my critical ass...

Day 33 Veg,
9 days since topping.

1799271

She's accepting the training ok, in that it's not slowing growth.
But I notice it's pretty slow and resistant to putting the little branches out.
Of all the nodes there, I only have 1 substantial secondary branch so far.

This is the Bruce Banner she'll be running next to...
1799274

This clone was taken after flowering, taking it a bit to convert,
I'm confident it'll take off real good to make a decent run next
to the LSD.

The LSD clone from the topping is doing great in the clone
dome, saw first little root today, will transplant and photo-op tomorrow.

Sorry about the Blurple pics...

LSD is in her new home, recently converted closet.
Running my original 1000w ChinaLED in here, now a permanent Veg space.
That Bruce Banner in the recent pic, that was supposed to run next to this
has been having issues converting back to veg, so it got demoted. Got a little
Purple Nuken clone down there next to it now. Ultimately, whatever girl makes
the cut to run next to LSD will have to just be a percentage game. Meaning, the
second runner will get scrog net space according to it's size at flower time.

6 Weeks Veg today

Proper lighting pics...

Training going well, loving the bamboo stick setup! Plant should be sooo ready
when time comes to move to the flower tent.
1806276

Next to her new BFF in the new Veg closet.
1806277

The Purple Nuken that got promoted, training will be a little different on
this one, but we'll work with what we have right...

1806278

Threw 2 Dr.Seeds Northern Lights seeds in coco pods on May-22.
They're up and moving today! I got that light down quick to stop the stretch!
I will start another journal for these, because.... Free Seeds! right...

I'll tell you the secret right now...

Through my research, I have found that,
the best thing for autos, indoors, is a tall narrow air-pot.
The collective theory goes, the auto decides to flower
when it encounters root resistance sidewardly and/or
resitance downwardly by the main tap root. This resistance
would be the sides and bottom of a plastic/hard pot
or fabric pot at the bottom. It is said that this can be tweaked
easily with light medium made to allow for easy lateral and
downward root growth. It is said that this can be easily done
by using 2 air pots overlapped to make a really tall one,
with 1gal or 3gal size. They interlock nicely, they say, to make
a sturdy tall narrow pot.
If I were to do this outdoors, I would get a roll of landscaping
fabric and a roll of snow fence(thick plastic lattice) and a bag
of zip-ties. Both these rolls come in 4ft, perfect for cutting in half
and making your own bad-ass, tall-ass 2ft fabric auto pots. I'd put
a good amount, like 70/30, of perlite in my medium and suffer the
increased need for watering. This would give you the time to train
for some serious increase in top sites, they say.

So, light medium, tall pot, more watering as only consequence really.
I guess, outside one could dig a nice deep hole and fill that with lightened medium...
I should add, there are all the non-medium methods like hydro, aero, bubble, etc,
those methods are feeding the medium so much that the roots really meet no resistance,
I've seen huge autos come out of those methods but they come with complications
and the pics from those were competitive grows, so not your normal kinda thing...
:ganjamon:
Yeah prerty much mate. I grow nft so the roots never hit anything. Just grow in air and it makes autos go crazy. Profile pic is one of them. I average 49 days before the first signs of pistils. Can usually get them to go that long in 3gal fabrics with 50/50 coco/peri but it doesnt always work.

Pretty much every seed company will give you your order for free if youve got a decnt journal or 2 mate.
Been using the one for my profile pic for 3 years now. Works every time. Got me about 150 freebies from a dozen different sponsors. Its awesome lol.
Ususally get 3 x 3packs or 3 x 5packs but some companies give you more.

12 Weeks Veg LSD update,
8 Weeks Veg Purple Nuken,
9 Weeks Veg Bruce Banner

1843626

LSD @ 12 Weeks, evened the top of the canopy after this Photo Op, resulting in 25 cuttings,
which made 100% successful clones, delivering tomorrow.

1843632

Purple Nuken on the left, Bruce Banner on the right, that Bruce don't look like much for 9 weeks of veg
but it started as a re-veg mutant, all 3 are going in the next run.

1843635

The 3 ladies together. LSD will take one half of the tent, Purple will fill about 75% of the other side, Bruce will
occupy the remaining 25% of the other half.

July-6 Stuff 3 Ladies under trellis and begin Flowering

1843647

So, I chopped an entrance hole in my drain tray after the full tray cleaning, tent cleaning and wipe down.
I was going to lower my trellis frame 6in but decided to leave it and found it much more convenient to
just raise the plants up to the trellis.

1843648

The ladies just in, LSD on the entire right side. Little Bruce Banner on the Left front and Purple Nuken in the
rest of the left rear.

1843649

1843650

Happy with the training thus far!

:ganjamon:

Looks great HTR. That one in the bottom right corner looks like it might be showing some signs of Mag def. Nice job on the training!
Thanks for noticing that deficiency, good call on Mag only! I've been wondering about it.
The whole right side is one plant, LSD. I recently got a deal on 4L of Organicare Calplex,
discontinued product, it's straight calcium carbonate in some kinda water suspension.
I changed from using CalMag, to using the Calplex and epsom salts.
Ratio is 20ml Calplex and 4gr or 3/4tsp Epsom for 2Gal.
I started at 1.5gr per Gal and upped it to 2gr, don't think I'm there
yet, any help with the quantity is appreciated. But I will be upping it more
on next top up mix...
