Quick update:
IF you've been following my journal you will know that my main 130w CFL for vegging (6400k) died an honourable death about a week ago,
I purchased 2 x 135w CFL's ($20 AUD) from eBay (link in previous page) and I just wanted to show you what it looked like.
This light will be placed in my vegging tent for vegging only as my LED will be used full time for my flowering tent (coming soon).
I purchased 1 x E27 lamp holder/splitter and 1 x E40 to E27 adaptor so I could use my large reflector with the two lights, giving me a total of 270 watts to veg/clone with.
I think these are a must for any CFL enthusiast...

Heres some pics with the light fitted in the reflector, switched both on and off:

And a pic of the plant at Day 26, responding very well to the defol and LED:

Looking good, healthy, coming along well..

Update:

Pyramid Seeds Auto Anasthesia (Northern Lights x Black Domina) seed has popped.
I have planted into a Mix of Soil, Coco and Perlite, The pot has been placed under my newly constructed 270w CFL array.
I have started a separate journal for this grow, which can be found here:

Also for my current grow, I have lowered my LED to get a bit more intensity, but to also allow for better air circulation above the LED.
In addition to adding 2 x Sticky bug traps to slow down the Fungus Gnats and Green Leafhoppers.

Day 29,
lots of good growth, Getting close to showing sex..
Just compared to just 3 days ago, there is so much new growth, I think i got the nute mix spot on and this LED seems to be working great.

Edit: Wanted to mention that the grow looks great, I've looked around a lot over the last few months and haven't seen a CFL set up that looks as clean and straight forward as yours.

Question for you.

I plan to have a box dedicated to a mother plant and a box dedicated for veg and I have a nice big tent with 1000 watt de hps for flower, which is currently also being used to veg 6 purple kush and working beautifully.

Plan is to veg 5 plants at a time. I see you are using CFL my experience with CFL is 0, what would you recommend to veg 5 plants? 2 - 135watt bulbs for each plant?

Hi Ego,
Thanks for the feedback!
Because I live in northern AUS, it gets very hot up here around this time of year, so I like to keep minimal clutter in my grow space to avoid bugs and other pests, but to also allow for optimal air circulation, thanks for noticing.

As for your CFL's for vegging, I would recommend 1 x 135w CFL per plant as the peripheral light from the neighbouring CFL's will also bleed onto the plants not directly under them so that would be enough light, but to avoid having to build an entire hood or light hangers you could always go to eBay and buy a T5 grow light fixture, they sell for about 50 - 100 AUD, and they have fantastic vegging capabilities (its what the pro's are using), Or alternatively you can go and buy 2 x 250w Grow CFL's and 2 reflectors and they will veg your girls perfectly and keep them relatively short and bushy.
all items can be found on eBay.

If my budget permitted I would use exactly what can be seen in the following pictures:

This is the 2 x E40 CFL reflector, I would use this as it has a small active cooling fan.

Its not essential, just convenient, you could of course always just get to of the cheaper metal reflectors just like what Im using in the pictures above.

Then I would purchase these but I would get 2 of the 250w 6400k lights instead of one 2700k and one 6400k as the colour temp of the 6400k is exactly what is needed for vegging with no plant stretch.

This would be ideal for vegging 5 plants, and a lot cooler as 2 CFL's even at 250w put out little to no heat.

For the bugs, place a little glass (with white vinegar and a few drops of washing up liquid) in the soil. Catches the hungry ones too.

Cheers Angrybird,
Ill give that a try, do you mean bury the glass so its at soil level, or just place it on top?

Update: Day 40
The big plants are now outside as my tent is being used for my other grow. I will see how these girls go outside they seem to be loving it, but I am getting a little stretch from them of course as the sunlight is nowhere near as good as my 450w LED.

Day 49,
Still going strong, They are in partial shade as my neighbours can be a tad nosey, I think this might have slowed them down a little bit. All seems to be going well though.

Does anyone else think these are two different strains?
I got them from the same bagseed, but they really look different.

And heres a pic of one of the fan leaves..
I have never seen a plant with leaves this big, you can see the tip of my fingers in the shot for size perspective!
This is insane! and they all have the 9 fingers also!!
