I just finished Keliher's "Grandpa's Marijuana Handbook".

It is ROFLMAO funny in many places and dreadfully dreary for about half the book. Reading the book is like reading a lot of posts here...one will find intellectually honest assessments interleaved with paranoid leftist pothead nonsense. For a PHD, Keliher's lack of supporting evidence and his historical inaccuracies smack more of comedic leftist ranting than thoughtful treatise. His attempt to straddle the line only means it fails to do either one well.

The book is cheap and well worth it, if only for the laughs.

Today, I had both my best and worst drug reactions ever. The best was a sampling of my 16 day cured Wonder Woman. WOW! What a trip. There was nothing subtle about her. I would't drive a vehicle on this strain. One definitely loses one's presence of mind. Uh, what was my point?

Oh, yeah.

The worst reaction was from a doctor recommended legal over the counter vitamin....niacin. Yes, I have experienced my first niacin flush. Ick. After the burn, I scratched over every square centimeter of skin like I was a side character in A Scanner Darkly.

I like the new 420 magazine logo.

It is more mature.

Niacin flush is the real deal. I think alcohol is the only thing I have ingested with more of an immediate impact. Wow. On a preternatural level, I kind of look forward to the discomfort.

I am building up a "tolerance" for it.

I will get pics in the morning, but my new Phototron grown G13 clone did great while I was away on business for a three days. The soil grown G13 held up during the absence just as well. I will be conducting more experiments now, contrasting these two girls on many different methodological, quantitative and qualitative elements.

G13 mmmm. The clones are looking good friend, nice healthy green colour. Can't wait until I can take clones(prob another week) then I wanna do some experiments too.

In other news, i tried hemp hearts for the first time. I tasted one and thought it tasty but outherwise unremarkable. I read the instructions to do at least three tablespoons in cereal. Health results were supposed to be GUARANTEED. Really? I figured whether it was three or five tablespoons, the portion wouldn't matter if I found the supplement revolting.

So, I did three tablespoons in a cranberry granola cereal. By themselves, the hemp hearts tasted like I once imagined Grape Nuts (R) would taste--but didn't. These hemp hearts both stood on their own in milk and complemented the cereal.

Yummy.

One point I liked n Keliher's book....

The zen of taking medicine or getting high just before one's dailey gardening. That could be taken further...

...while wearing hemo clothes, or
...eating a CBD rich rownie, or
...snacking in something made of hemp hearts
...with a topical cannabis based lotion
...et cetera

The ZEN of growing with one's own hands the very natural plant that is a beneficial or even necessary element to so many parts of our lives. If that doesn't take us "back to the garden" of Eden, what the hell *on earth* will?

Another reason i suspect that cannabis strains are at least fifty percent bullshit. Researching G13 Haze I see differing accounts of Indica/Sativa mix. Well, is it 80/20 or 20/80? No matter, it will all work as medicine.

I know, a lot of the information in the WWW is deliberately misleading, or bad...like poor photocopies of poor photocopies.

If so much of the quality and effect of the cannabis can be manipulated through flowering and curing, it seems to me that the scales for those would be as much or more relevant than some fantasy perpetrating significant variations in phenotype.

Hunger Games is part teen romance and part goofie dystopian socialist attack on the ruling upper class. I wasn't sure whether the movie was a contemporary take on the build up to the French Revolution or a hyperbolc take on American consumerism, culture and decadence-- probably all of the above.

There was no medical cannabis visble around, anywhere.

I put it together that Michael and Taylor were done for. There was way too much root damage to sustain the plant much more a flowering push. Today, I cut them both down as if they were John Barleycorn. I cherry picked the most promising buds and tossed about 90% away. Both girls tried, but the invasion had taken its toll.

The saved buds are water curing for up to a week, and then its the Nesco food dehydrator. I will get some enjoyment out of what was salvaged. No smoke report....These girls will be buttered and brownied.

Closure... I plain forgot I was water curing Micheal and Taylor. Whatever was salvaged was ruined in the water cure.

In summary....My first ever grow was a complete failure. My nearly concurrent second grow was a great success. I have learned a lot about the awesomeness of cannabis and growing. I have settled into a nice zen like place about gardening. I thank you all.
