New Grower: Open To Any Advice

Girls are looking beautiful. I'd say better than ever before ... I see the one in the botanium is showing a bit of clawing which if I'm not mistaken is nitrogen toxicity? Anyways for now she seems fine. The one in soil seems to be very sensitive to the tempreture. Slightest drop and she droops...

Tempretures
At night time outside it drops to below -2 sometimes -4 so inside I keep all lights one and run my day cycle when it is night .
21°c - 22°c with all lights on (to combat low tempretures at night)

25°c during the day with all lights on except one incandescent globe .

When switching lights off I get a massive drop in tempreture sometimes going to 15°c . Should I opt for a green light ?

The clawing could be from anything really, could be a heat stress, could be too much or not enough water, but it should definitely be kept a close eye on!

Good job switching lights on times, smart choice. 15 Celsius is a lil low, but i think they should be fine. It’s a significant drop but, keep an eye on it, if anything changes we gotta think of a way to combat that

With both globes the tempreture doesn't drop past 20°c

i run a 260 watt led, a 75 watt led and a 21 watt t5 led.
also my fans, my ac and exhaust fan/carbon scrubber.

all of that running DURING PEAK hours only ups my electric bill approx 30-35$

is electricity expensive where you are?
Well it shows here that it is R1.09 per Kw per hour . We had a faulty meter and for two months I had a bill of R1200 + where it usually sits on no more than R400. I can expect a R200 extra usage . I'm waiting for my bill to see .

i have no clue what that equates to.

my electric bill has a chart on the bill that shows what i was using last year. been pretty consistent around 25$
30$ is a high estimate, was giving the benefit of the doubt but every month since last september has been 25$ more and thats the only different thing that i have had in my place

maybe my electricity cost is just really cheap

My usage will equate to 219w of power . The fans are PC fans and run on a 12v DC power supply . I dont think I'm using too much at the moment. I'm being cautious as it is winter to and must no overdue it with heaters and geysers . I honestly think I'll be paying maybe R300 more which is roughly $27 on my bill of $40 . Again I'm roughly estimating. It has been high due to a fault and got reset . This month will be the first bill on a new meter so I will post what I get to see .

I appreciate the help tremendously.

Lights are:
2 x 40 w globes (supposed output of 200w)
1 x T5 LED 9 w plant grow light (will be getting another )
1 x incandescent 60 w globe. ( for extra heat when the night drops the tempretures)
1 x halogen incandescent bulb 70 w globe (purely for heating the box)

. The events are simple and straight forward to feed and extract. Nothing fancy as I dont have to worry much about smell.

Hydro plant was droopy this morning but I think its cause I left the halogen a bit to close to it by accident . Was rather baked before closing up Haha.

I will be making the light fixtures a lot more neater when I get home.

I am in the midst of planning a new box but I want to make one that I can individually control all fans and speed and all lights.

Any plans will be highly appreciated.

What type of grow area you looking for? A tent, or a box?

I used space blankets for my tent but you should step it up a bit and buy some panda film to wrap your tent in, if your leaning towards a tent that is. It’s a sturdier more permanent material then space blankets. The blankets work fine, but it’s very fragile.

I'm currently using plywood made into a box with space blankets glued to the walls . I'm looking at making another one like that but obviously way more better . Here is an example of what I'd like to incorporate into a gtow box but just obviously a lot taller . The drawer has me thinking it is easier to access plants better

Is shorty over here worth the grow ? I got it inside a pot that feeds water with a wick and it's very good. Only reason I have it is cause I found it inside an ant hole next to my kitchen growing out of the ants hole .

I have yeast active releasing extra CO2 and a pan of water to add humidity. The fan blows with the light timer

Please explain to me the yeast extract . I'm.looking for a way to add co2

Last night I made the switch to my new nutrients for hydro . I happen to see my branches on top being purple so I saw that means magnesium deficiency. I was so nervous the plant would not accept it but after 8 hours she looks beautiful. I'm so happy now

Purple stems don’t always conclude to a deficiency, if the purple stem in accompanied with other deficiencies (brown spots on leafs or anything out of the ordinary) that it may be a deficiency, but purple stems are very known to be genetics from the strain. Keep a close eye on the purple. If it has other deficiency areas then I will go more into detail with it. It sounds like it’s genetics though. :thumb:
