Good morning. The babies were busy last night, all are up and looking healthy. A couple are looking stretchy already so I turned the light up to 215 umols. I also put a little water in the pan to get the humidity up and gave them their first little drink. Full steam ahead. Have a great day!

Good morning. The inspector showed up for a surprise inspection…

She thinks they’re dry and stretchy, so I lowered and turned up the light to 323 umols, gave them a drink and put some water in the pan to raise the humidity.

She took one last look at them and gave me her stamp of approval.

She seems to sense these are important to me and didn’t even try to put her paws up. She never ceases to amaze me, I guess I’m not that surprised anymore.

Good morning. I think, more like hope they’re done stretching. I don’t like burying the stem. Otherwise they look happy and healthy, little leaves reaching for the light. I bumped the light up to 23000*.019=437umols, and put a emergency hoop around the tallest one.

For those interested here’s a different perspective of my lights and such. All those little pieces of tape are covering existing holes.

I gave her some hush money (milk bone) this time to bypass us. Didn’t pull a permit. I’m thinking we should be ok though, I attached the hoop to the side of the cup. Had I stuck it in the foundation, we might have had a problem.

Morning update. The girls look great! They’ve stopped growing up and started growing out. Babies are growing fast. I think I started the light too dim. Next time I’ll start at 300umols.

Sunny and 75F. They’re growing!

All but the runt on the front left has significant growth on their second set of leaves. She’s still working on the first set. Have a great day!

Good morning. This batch of seedlings are the most vigorous I’ve had. I believe there’s two reasons for this. One reason is I’m getting more efficient at germination and the second reason is I’m using less and less water. Im not drowning them when they get in the cups. Getting them above ground has never been a problem but watering them just right is key. They’re getting some traction now.
