Pantagruel's Return - Pure Kush - LSD - Red Dragon - Blue Widow

Those are looking really frosty brother! Any chances for some close ups?

LOL! I thought that was a closeup. I need to get the wife to help me with that, it's her camera.

Just wanting to see the up close trichome development. They look super frosty brother!

Ok, you got me going. I enlisted the help of Mrs. Pantagruel (no, she's not on the board). So here's a little trich porn, just for you!

Oh, and those Stankberry's going into flower....choice. :thumb:

Now that is a frosty flower there brother! I am hoping that my new light will help draw out more trichomes. I could tell I was lacking the trichome development I wanted on my first couple grows.

That Spydrx is awesome. Can't wait to see it in action!

I am strongly considering upgrading my lighting. Currently running an older 3w TopLED 96, plus a brand new Vipar 450. I'm only using about half my tent so focusing those on a 2x2 canopy is actually giving me pretty solid coverage. Plus the reds from the TopLED seem to be compensating for the weaker spectrum of the Vipar, I'm getting pretty good frost. Next time I plan to grow 3 bigger plants and fill a 2x3 space, so I think I need something else.

Right now contenders are the Growant G5 400 and the Timber 2VL, both of which would give solid coverage on a 2x3 space I think and good bang for the buck. I have to order from the States so it adds like $70 shipping, pretty hefty add to a $300 light. Definitely want it in place for the next flower cycle though.

I liked my Vipar, but the coverage isn't great. Coverage....since area is kind of my biggest issue is essential. I want to maximize my yield in my limited tent space.

I hear good things about the Growant.

Well, I suspect that 400 w hps over a 2x2 area is better coverage than my blurples, so I have gone back to basics with the Hortilux enhanced spectrum. My best weight grow was with my HPS.

My biggest problems under ViparSpectras seems to be heat and light penetration. The top buds get dense and frosty enough. I’ve left the veg lights running and wonder if that has helped encouraged a bit more veg growth in flower than I might get otherwise.

I think they’re solid start lights but have their limitations as you refine. My plan is to continue to use a Vipar for veg but to replace them for flower.

After a ton of shopping I found I can buy an Optic 2 for $299 with free shipping to Canada. It looks pretty comparable to the Timber and the Growant and saves me $100. Think I'm gonna do it.

Edit: Done deal. Should be under $450 cad all in. I think the Optic will blow the diodes off my Mars and Vipar.
