very hard to do, but i can tell you this.
if you don't defol the bottoms, you will end up with a lot of little airy buds that will take energy from forming the main colas.
If i had to guess:
3 - 5 ounces.

I will give it a few more days since I took a lot of yesterday and get rid of some of the bottom growth so it can focus on the top

Hey guys just quick update nothing new going on there just in there flowering stretch getting bigger and bushier everyday. Monday will be one week so hopefully next weekend we’ll see some buds starting to form. Happy growing !!

50% is too much IMHO.
I clear out enough that air flows and light reaches bud sites. I take out the little branches that won't produce very much and big fan leaves stuck in the middle. That is only 10-15% usually.

I haven't done a journal in a long time. I haven't taken pictures in a long time. I have been working with clones and defol has been very minimal. I honestly don't have any recent pictures.
I have been away for maybe 4-5 years, but have come back because:
I had a problem and my clones got a white mold disease. I had been growing from the same clones for almost four years. I got some Hulk Smash and White Russian seeds. I germed one of each and they are starting week two of flower. i have no idea what sex they are at this point and defol on both of these will be minimal. Both pheno seem to have fairly tight node spacing. i am back here to see if anyone has a grow journal with my strains.
I use a custom soil mix in an earthbox. I flower in a 3x3 tent with vipar p1000. I veg in a 27"x27" tent with a vipar p1000.

This is my plant that i took some off. Some people prefer to take off WAY more than in my photos and some prefer to barely touch it. Since its your first grow it will benefit you to go through the process of defoling just to see how easy they bounce back

hey guys, had some fan leaves getting tangled and causing knots so she got a tiny bit of trimming. This weekend she will get her 20% defol from bottom up maybe a little more depending on growth. Pistils are starting to “point”? Here’s a few pictures

She is extremely bushy not sure if it’s a cause for concern or not but space is def getting limited

A little more info on the strain that is being grown, apparently 7-8 weeks flower time so 6-7 more weeks yay

Hey everyone ! Today’s nearing the end of the girls two week flowering stretch so I decided to do some defoling and got rid of a few lower nods that I did not think would produce much or even be able to support bud weight. I may have went a little over kill but it don’t look that way in the pictures. All and all I think they will be fine and produce some beautiful buds . The taller ones on the right are 34 inches in height the one on the lefts are 31 and 16 Let me know what you think !!
