The Stoner’s Book Report By Deeboy: Perpetual Autos

I bought a whole bunch of different cannabis magazines this summer and have slowly been reading my way through them. I've read some really interesting breeding articles in them.

My plan is to stick to 10 main strains and then try other strains here and there when I feel like it.

I don't need to find a strain for any specific reason because I already have all my health issues covered with the ones I already know work for me.

I'm going to try cloning in the new year and eventually seed making, too. I have some regular Purple Satellite seeds that a member gifted to me so I might play around with them.

Sounds like a cool project!

Doing a couple of things differently this 4th grow. I pre-buffered my reused coco with 1.5 strength cal-mag by soaking the media for 8 hours. According to a coco growing specialist guy on the inter webs That’s the thing to do. Planting in the final 3 gallon pot and skipping the solo cup stage. Germinated Bruce Banner 3 and Marathon OG were placed in a shallow divot leaving the seed helmet showing. Still waiting for Blue Microverse and Nova OG to pop.

A tip I picked up recently. To score and rough up your seeds a bit before germination to help them sprout, make a tube of 200 grit sandpaper and tape it. Place the seed inside while holding your thumb and finger over the ends and shake for 5 seconds or so. We’ll see if it helps this run…

@HashGirl this fact may shock you, but I don’t like the paper towel method. To the point it gives me anxiety lollll. I’ve never tried it, but even the pictures in here have me pearl clutching!

When that tail sticks out it looks like spoof! No one wants to see spoof on a paper towel (unless you are alone and deliberately spoofed on the paper towel).

I’m an old fashioned just stick the seed in the hole kind of girl. And defs no roughing up.

It’s getting harder to decide every grow with my ever increasing inventory of seeds. I’m trying to get strains that are what they say. My research has shown me that good breeders show their work. What strains they used in breeding, giving credit to the breeders that came before them. If they used a legitimate cut/clone from the original breeder. A lot of seeds for sale out there don’t tell you squat. I would recommend watching the Get to know your breeder series on the Dude Grows Show on YouTube. Very educational. Also the Future Cannabis Project, but those are really long, detailed breeder discussions.
I think you’re just showing off coz you know damn well I’m struggling to get seeds!

LOLLINGGGGG

I’d love to help you clone. I once said my strike rate was 80 something but I think from all the clones I’ve struck only one died and it was a little monster I dropped, and when I checked it had roots. So really my strike rate so far is 100%.

Balloons Bee will prolly drop dead today to humble me.

I plant all my seeds the same way.

I imagine how it would germinate, look I said germinate to try and sound clever, but I’m not sure if that is the seed growing or the plant female/male pollen sexing to make the seed, anyhoo, I imagine how it would strike naturally and try to follow those rules. I make a .75cm hole then loosely cover the seed with dirt, then bush bash bosh, plant is born.

The more genetically stable a seed is the thicker the shells get. And I had a few issues with germination last run. Trying something different. I guess we’re all adjusting constantly.

I told you where to get seeds before… didn’t I? They even ship to downunderville!

Yeah, I’m just missing that bush, bash bosh part…. Is that like a rain dance or somethin?

And a bibbity bobbity boo to you too!

Here is the class of December, with a couple of clones from Toof Decay. I have no idea if I can keep them alive… left to right Nova OG, Blue Microverse, Bruce Banner 3 and Marathon OG.

I skipped the solo cup and went straight to the final 3 gal bags.

And the newest adventure begins :)

Hey bloke, you’re not near the tornado hit zone are you?
We are on the East Coast, pretty far from the storms in the Midwest. We’ll get some wind and rain tonight.
