Unknown Bag Seed

Hello everyone . it has been a while and I am not a experienced pro grower ,everything i know i learned from trial and error, 420 magazine and my parents . So this is not to teach but more for me to learn from and better my skills as a grower. I like taking pictures and viewing other photos from the highly experienced and gifted growing gurus of 420 Mag nearly as much as i love smoking the fruits of my labor . I am pretty stoned so i apologize for the rambling and run on sentences . I will just get to it . Just some bag seed unknown i planted . I say it has a week maybe two before harvest . I dont even have a magnifying glass to tell yet so i will be guessing pretty much . These photos were taken October 30 . They have fattened up since then and i will be updating photos soon . I switched the lights to 12/12 on September the 4th and the feeder leaves are starting to turn yellow and dieing so i know its getting close . Any any advice would be greatly appreciated. :thanks:

Re: Unknown bagseed

thanks grandsam I have 10 cfl lights and two plant tube florescents and i have been feeding them a 10-15-10 liquid plant food with micronutrients . Not the best setup but it works for my needs at the moment . they have a sweet smell almost like a lemon skunk smell . I am looking forward to trying it .

Re: Unknown bagseed

Re: Unknown bagseed

well its been 9 weeks since i changed the lights, and without a jeweler’s loupe, or magnifying lens to see the trichome heads I guess i will go 10 weeks i think they took a week to show flowers so i would actually be harvesting them 9 weeks from flowering to be safe .and that will be next Friday for me so i will be pulling my yellowing feeder leaves today . If anyone has any input i am all ears and running out of time ,

Re: Unknown bagseed

Funky looking light setup, they seem to work though. The best way to tell when flowering is done with unknown strains is to check the trichomes with microscope / magnifying glass / digital camera. Really cool looking colors there you got.

edit - sorry just read that you dont have one.

Have you already given them a final flushing with plain PH'd water, and stopped using nutes 1-2 weeks before harvesting? thats key to get rid of any build up salts in soil, and any nasty nute taste in your buds. you can tell growers that do this because the buds burn to a white / light grey ash when cured right.

Re: Unknown bagseed

ya i flushed them a week ago and again today there all good i tried a test bud and I already love the taste and i will be curing for a moth so i am sure it will be fine . The next time I will have the magnifying glass or jeweler’s loupe and a bigger pot and better dirt . The light is just a lamp with adjustable arms that bend and stay where ever you want them they work great best thing i have found so far and it makes a great stand to tie the plant up if the buds get to heavy for the branches or just to tie the lower buds closer to the top . thanks for dropping by i will keep it updated and hopefully show some lovely dried manicured buds in about a month

Re: Unknown bagseed

Nice pics, nice plant! I think she looks great. What kind of bulbs are the plant tubes you were talking about?

I'm growing with cfl's too. Love seeing nice buds people grow with them. Thanks!

Re: Unknown bagseed

they are Ott light's (the natural light supplement) they say on the bulbs they were at home depot and they said they were for flowering plants indoors i thought they couldn't hurt they were fairly cheep also , Thanks for dropping by

Re: Unknown bagseed

Also i will be cutting them about a hour before the lights come on for added comfort

What I did was turn off the lights for 48 hours before cutting them down. Apparently it increases resin production for the final days of life. But definitely cutting them in the dark is key.
