What LED to get with $300ish budget?

That's $80 all in with bulbs or just with fixtures? Do you have a completed unit you have used? That seems like a really cool DIY route and might just work for me in my veg tent so I could ditch the MH units.

80 with all the bulbs, sockets and wire. The box I made on my metal brake. I have 3 completed sets that a client is using. They're 24x24 panels and produce 2x light.
This one is also for a client who needed it for a closet Grow.
Thanks

Or even run your 100w equivalents on the outer edge and put your 60w equivalents in the center. And no Jimmy, I think those are 100w equivalent bulbs.

The packaging shows the lumens, albeit with the diffuser. The 100w equivalent bulbs are 1500 lumens and the 60w equivalent bulbs are 800 lumens.

I have a feeling that any app that measures lumens through a smartphone is going to be wildly inaccurate.

That's because the mars 300 only uses 150-160w.
Check out what I build for $80 (almost complete)
It runs on 14 COB driven LED Phillips bulbs at 1120 lumens each. Total output is 15600 lumens. Consumes 168w
Bulbs are replaceable, only uses bulbs as you need them (step up system). Uses 5000k to 2700k LED bulbs at 100,60 or 40 w equivalent.

Build is really cool bro but what's the par rating that's the question as on led lumens isn't what you measure the grow power with id be intrested to know the par value have you got how you built it in your journal ?

I wish I had a PAR meter.... unfortunately they run around $500. But I've been getting great results with just 2 plants and 2 bulbs. I needed a slow Grow until the new Grow area was ready. Chose these bulbs. Even with two it grew way faster than I expected. My other lighting is an 8 bulb T5 HO and a 9 COB Vero 29 array so you can see why I chose the LED bulbs.

I have the same tent (if you are speaking in foot and not meters), I just got 5 COB plus driver with heatsinks for about $300. Things are getting cheaper everyday. Personally, I enjoy building little projects but I understand some would rather buy from retail brands. I am planning to add a few red and UV XP-E CREE and I should have a full spectrum for about $400, pulling more than 40 W sq/ft.

Finished the $80.00 DIY LED array. 14 bulbs, 156 watts
10,300 reflective LUX. 80000 direct LUX. Not bad for $80.
