I won't be trying this again. Trying to do this from my phone last night just did not work well. It would crash then when I opened the site back up it had a saved post. So I clicked on it was it was also loaded with pics.
I will organize better in the future. Just picked up a new laptop on Friday but my wireless needs an upgrade as others suck it dry.
It's been wet around here the past few days. Humidity is way up. Going for a powdery mildew inspection today. So far so good. The plants are very open and have good circulation.
Just as I had suspected. A slight trace of powdery mildew has appeared. It's only on the Golden Goat and just on one side of the greenhouse.
This is the worst spot. I am going to get some clean green. I was told this works well for powdery mildew and white flies which I have no issues with but they were there late season last year. If not I am sure my hydro store will have another comparable organic type of product. I also read about a product called GreenCure.
For powdery mildew you can use Sierra Natural Sciences SNS-244C Concentrated Natural Fungicide is made up of 100% pure Thyme, Clove and Rosemary botanical extracts.
Treated with GreenCare. It has only appeared on the Golden Goat. If this works as advertised I think we caught it early. The buds on the goat are swelling twice as fast as the tits. I didn't name it.
Cut back on water this week as we are in the ground and mother nature has supplied her own.
Nute schedule change. Wet weather formula. Btw this is our first wet weather since we started this grow.
5 oz GO BioThrive Bloom in 5 gal water every other day.
2.5 oz GO BioBud in 5 gal water every other day.
Backing off on h20 with the current ground moisture and higher then normal humidity. It hit 92 during the downpours.
Dropped to 70 2 hours after the rain stopped.
. When I got there I could not find a single spot of powdery mildew. It became visable as the humidity dropped. It was still there but I was confused for a bit.
Powdery mildew fading after 48 hours. Will have a closer inspection tomorrow. New pics also.
Any thoughts on a minimum temp that will not stunt growth? I think we dipped a few times close to 40. Was shooting for 50-55 but the good ol care taker is saving us on cost. Not.
Even on the 42 deg. night we were in the 90's during the day. Gotta love free heat in the winter.
I left the bottom half of a plant in the greenhouse last year. The plant and the ladybugs lived until December. I'm upper Midwest. She froze several times. Froze hard. The next day they continued to grow. Never had a dead leaf. The frost never gets to greenhouse plants and the cold won't kill them either.
2 years ago I had P.M. I spent a lot of money .........then I found vinegar and water. 10/1 . And the ladybugs loved it. spray every 3 or 4 days. If you have PM ,,,,you have it. Control only option. vinegar lowers the ph on the leaf . my opinion at least
nice looking plants..........Shit I still have 2 feet of snow lol
We have now finished 5 weeks in the green house. I must say that this is an excellent time of year to grow this way. I will have meds for a few of us for the whole year before the growing season even starts.
The temp spiked to 108 yesterday, inside. Had to reset the thermostat for the fan. I saw a few tips that browned. Not sure if this caused it.
No change in nutes.
PM is still hanging on but not getting any worse. Only the Golden Goat has it. The tits seem resistant. Treated over the weekend with greencare again. The caretaker only used half the batch and only hit the obvious spots. Going to treat today with a full load then hope for the best. So far the greencare has not affected the buds. We do try to not spray directly on them. Most of the PM appears on the larger leaves.
Need advise here:
Maybe it is time to start stripping some leaves. Have only picked the yellow ones so far.
Yeah things are coming along really well, excellent job planning and executing this. Great initiative and it definitely will pay off for some early summer buds. Lots of good phenotypes you got going there, impressive.
Here are some of what I am planning for the summer round in the greenhouse. It's going to be a Kush summer.
I have 7 weeks to get them ready. Might leave a couple in the back yard as I will need therapy more often then I can get up to the greenhouse. I have some indoor right now to help me through the tough times. Yes, growing is therapy although the therapist changes a couple of times a year.
We are now 6 week in the greenhouse. Looks like we have 3 or 4 more weeks to go. They still look so young but the goat is swelling very nice. They haven't slowed down a bit yet.
From previous post: Need advise here:
Maybe it is time to start stripping some leaves. Have only picked the yellow ones so far. This would be to help control the PM. I am done with treating with GreenCure.
At this time here is what we are feeding:
5 oz. of General OrganicsBioThrive Bloom in 10 gallons of water and 2.5 oz. of BioBud in 5 gallons of water every other day. Then we also feed another 15 gallons of 48 hour aged tap water daily. This is for 12 plants from 4-8.5 feet tall.
Maybe it's too much water for the humidity level I desire.
These two pictures are of the "tits" in the back corner. Although they look totally awesome they will need a couple more weeks then the Golden Goat.
Here are a couple of bus snaps from them. The fat ones are approaching a 3" diameter.
Now for the back row. These are some tall girls. 7-8.5 feet tall now. There are 4 of them here.
On the sides are 4 each of the Golden Goat. Good thing there are 4 medical patients to share in the bounty. They will only get a few more shots of nutrients. Then a 10 day cleansing to get them ready for the drying room. The plan here is 7-8 days at 65 deg. and 55% RH. Harvest is set for 5-4-2014 before dawn.
And now for the other side
I cleaned the Golden Goat ladies up last night. They were a bit thick and needed more air flow in the interior. Also removed the rest of the PM damage, residue or last legs of life, I hope.2 weeks to go. Going to cut back on the water also in an effort to keep the humidity down as low as possible.
No but rot or mold to be found. Weather has been great. I really like growing this time of year. I could actually just do this one grow and have the whole summer off. Well my first seed popped up yesterday for the summer grow so I guess that won't happen.
