Getting there.

Hey guys , so this is my very first post , hopefully It works out better for me then my bud growing . I also must say, I'm pretty new to that as well Anyways so I have one in a 30' x 36' pot ...and the other one is planted right in my potato and tomatoes garden .. I'm not to sure of the "name" of the seed strain ... I also live in central Alberta . Which the weather is starting to get cool .. daytime is about 23°C or (73.4°F) and about 6°C or (42.8°F) at night .. anyways I'm going to post pics of the one in the pot for now , my first mistake on her is I never clipped the tops , so she never grew any branches ..?! Please let me know thoughts .on to when I should maybe harvest her..also any recommendations for indoor starting , like fertilizer and different thingS to improve quality. Also if someone has recommendations as to a good seed place and a type to try I'd appreciate this ..I also have seeds if anyone wants some to test :)
I'm posting pics of her in 3 different stages , I believe I've wrote date . Thanks for your time . . Angela

Angela - check out the grow journals. I found lots of great tips and pix. Many of us place our grow journal links at the bottom of our messages like mine below. :yummy:

All doing well...had a little powdery mold..is that normal for outside grow?..I sprayed them all hope it helps
I’m not seeing much of that mold your talking about, but I can see the trichomes forming on the leaves and making them curl and look white. Looking good tho my friend!!!

The outdoor ladies I started this post with are starting to ripen up nicely and this trainwreck I’d have to say is just about ready to go! I’ve taken a sample nug off her a few days ago and the trichomes are where I want them so she’s getting harvest in the next day or two. The other two ladies still have some time to go but had to throw on some support bamboo/PVc now that weight is being put on. Had some issues with whiteflies and I hope I’ve caught them in time before they lay eggs in the buds but had to use some organic stuff I only trust to use during this late into flower but I try and still stay away from spraying the buds them self. So far I’m bug free other than a couple bud worms I found trying to nest up in a couple different buds, but them I just find and pick off and dispose of I don’t like spraying buds this late and far into the season!! Hope everyone’s outdoor gardens are coming along successfully as well other than pest issues I’m sure are becoming issues right about now especially where I’m located. Cheers!!!

Other than what’s mentioned about lady buds being a great organic way, but I’ve been using this stuff and has been working so far so good for me. Especially in the indoor garden with the gnats!! Starting to notice a big difference in bug life now that I’ve been using it outside on all my plants, and been testing it out on a plant now that’s late into flower to see what happens to the final outcome once harvested.
I got the worms with azamax and the next day they were dangling. Whiteflies what I’m dealing with now. I might try that little bottle of lost coast stuff. What’s it say it’s good for?

It says it’s pretty much good for everything, and so far I believe them and the product because i have experimental plants outside that I’ve been doing some testing on with this stuff and I started spraying once I noticed the flowering stage creeping in and then stopped once the buds were at the point of filling out. I was spraying just once a week and not one bug stayed around long enough to investigate and make home!! But I then ran out of the sample bottle the hydro guys gave me to try and about 2 weeks of no spraying I noticed a small amount of white fly’s and aphids trying to make home under the leaves of some not many I might add, but enough to make me go and buy a bottle of lost coast plant therapy to treat them all before it turned into an infestation. Luckily this stuff works like charms because I then sprayed for a couple days in a row and I can’t even find mosquitoes that were starting to eat me alive around the outdoor garden. But anyways it says eliminates powdery mildew, fungus gnats, whiteflies, all mites, botrytis, aphids, and thrips! The active ingredients are only soybean oil, peppermint oil, citric acid, water, soap, isopropyl alcohol, and sodium citrate. The bottle is about 42 bucks but so far worth every penny!!!

Anyone having any issues with trichomes not popping out yet? Like many of us I am in a northern climate and had to place my plant in an area that does not get much sun.
I’ve never had that issue come up yet!! I’ve had some plants I’ve grown that were pretty much shaded their whole life back in the good ol days when hiding your plants was a must! But the only issue I had with that was when the buds dried they shrunk wayyyyy more than anything else I’ve grown before. Not sure why your having them issue tho but I am intrigued to learn more!!! Let me know if you figure this delma out i do a lot of experimental things with these plants and this is something I have not come across yet unfortunately.

If you plan to start indoor growing it’s very interesting and fun if you enjoy gardening. Indoor is definitely more work depending on light fixtures you plan on getting. I mean that because going with LED I’m learning you have to do a lot more work finding the right genetic/strain to grow successfully without having issues having herms and bananas being thrown out and pollenating them self! But since people are adapting genetics to grow under Led full spectrum now they are out their just hard to find the right one. So what I’m trying to get at is id try and find a good indica dominant strain to start off with and do a little research on finding one that is breed for indoor growing. I would have saved a whole lot of time if I would have just went with a strain from a good seed source, but I went down the long path and searched and searched and eventually found a good genetic that I can grow perfect indoors without having herm issues and grows amazing under full spectrum LEDs. Once you get to that point it’s best to start a mother plant in my opinion and just throw cuttings from her into flower and then you almost have a perfectly successful harvest every time without much issues. Pests are also great not dealing with indoors if your able to keep it clean and tidy. A great place to get things tho is from the Sponcers from this forum I personally have never gotten seeds online but I’m sure you can’t go wrong by using a seed supplier from the 420 mag sponcers. You can always check out some journals from my grows and learn along with me because I experiment a lot and have done much outdoor growing in my life, but just recently started indoor growing a little over a year ago and I’m hooked since!! Happy growing my friend!!
