fair enough! and yes mylar does help to retain the heat/ cold, depending on how everything is setup. if you can manage to set up everything and have it work with your temps, the stuff if worth 10X's its weight in gold. however it appears you already covered that angle. soo, my work is done here haha..

I find the mylar loses reflectivity much faster than the paint, so I think the paint give me more light over a longer time. It also offers anti microbial properties.

G13 Haze is an awesome strain, there are at least 3 phenos that I got in my 5 pack. Two showed the grape pheno, One a strong haze taste, and the other (I killed one) had a spicy cheeze taste.

They withstood all a new could throw at them and gave me a nice yield (13 oz from 6 plants in a 2x6 space with 540W of light) last time in soil. This time... well it is not their fault and they will have 4 more weeks to do their best.

I tested the polarized lens trick and it worked, tomorrow I will figure out a way to mount a lens permanently.

We have 3 weeks left and there are SOME trichs forming, still they look 2-3 weeks behind where they should be.

I don't think they will really mature to where they should I think they will start to turn amber right on time in 3 weeks with under developed trichs and buds . But still it will be some meds to have until the next harvest.

I cleaned out the root zone yesterday. I took out each plant and squeegeed the slime out as best i could. The tube was clogged with slimy old decaying roots that stuck in the new roots as it fell away. It took about 3 hours to clean out the plants and another hour to re foil the tubes and re tape the pots.

I took out the run and executed it for the crime of losing! I then took one of the plants being shaded by large plants on both sides and moved it to the new open spot under the DS.

I got 7.0 and 4.0 calibration solution and some electrode cleaning solution. I cleaned and calibrated my nutridip trimeter which is 1000% winning. No more rinsing and testing ans blah blah...

I also used a large bottle brush to clean the slime off the side of the tubes. I placed a mesh metal basket with some poly fill (fish tank cotton) to catch any particles.

I did the cleaning before a full res change. After mixing the Zone, Nutes, Zyme the ph was 4.2, this morning it was 6.5. I added about 4 tablespoons of 30% phosphoric to bring it down to 5.5 and it has been stable for the past 8 hours.

The water temp today was still 82. I added a frozen 2l, dropped to 78... A half hour later it was back at 80. I need more and smaller frozen items, I am thinking of frozen water bottles, buy a couple cases and swap them out 6 at a time.

I know you guys are all hydro but if i was running around 85 temp in my tent would watering plants with iced water/nutes help???? my garden shop guy said the roots need to be cool.

My system seems to go down by about 50-70ppm per night. There is an auto top off that basically cancels out evaporation. Some ppm is lost by salt farming on the walls of the nutes, and the rest must be taken up by the plants.

My pH has been stable at 5.8 for almost a week (since the root cleaning). Pics to come later today of the plants and my modifications to my EZ-Clone.

Glad to hear the pH has stabilized. I've found that once it is there, it will pretty much stay there for the rest of the grow, just do a partial res change every two weeks.

Curious to see your mods to the ez-cloner.

If anyone remembers the old "sun pulse" bulb debate there was a question if the finishing bulb they sell does what it says.. namely it says that because the bulb is UVB enhanced it increases resin production dramatically. Recently I found the reptisun bulbs which are florescent that emit 30%UVA and 10% UVB, ill assume that means 30% of the total wattage is UVA - so I was thinking of doing a comparison with a couple (2-3) of those in my sunblaze strips. Pics and garden update on the way.

OK The first post will be hardware updates, time machine second plant pics, third will be <pathetic> Bud Porn!

So since the cooling loop is down I wanted to use CO2 so i have the 6" centrifugal fan connected to the AIR-4 to vent at 86 degrees, I suppose I could go more with CO2... I dunno if that would be wise. Here is the fan setup, I hung it from hooks and bungee cords, very silent:

This is the attempted modification to the EZclone, the modification itself would have worked if it weren't for a leaky pump! This would have made the pump external and reduced the heat load on the EZclone. It would also have lowered the manifold and allowed for more root space and less water. The pump is attached between two unions and a valve on the EZclone end.

And now for some bud porn, as pathetic as they are two weeks from harvest I have to say they are 1000X better than I thought they would be. I trimmed some of the lower stuff when I cleaned the root system out and dried it, rolled a J out of it and it was very decent. Not great but acceptable for a decent stone, and that is over 2 weeks premature.

What type of pump are you going to use on the ez-cloner? I don't think the one it comes with is made to be run inline (although I haven't looked at mine recently). I think that it would definitely reduce the temps in there.
